After commenting I started to think about building 1 myself and thought more about the seating angle and thought that maybe a dropper seatpost could get integrated into it so that you could adjust the angle on the fly.

Looks really good! You are further ahead than me. Mine is a slightly different "Cruz-alike" and I am trying to make it as a tilting delta. Seeing you take to it so well gives me a really good feeling! Thanks for sharing.

Cool Bike I've got a Cruzbike Conversion made with Cruzbike hardware and a Cannonade MTB. Have to replace the front Shock (P-Bone) as when I crank the crank(doy!) it's like riding a pogo stick. My bike is so cool the Hells Angels were chatting w/ me about it. Ok Mate, thx for the Video!

Superb mate, bravo! I can't seem to get my head around how the steering works tho it seems like you would have to accommodate the turn with your legs, but looking at your video it seems not?

Thanks for the video. I got a older Bachetta Corsa. Refitted all new crank, gearing, derailleur, etc and put it on my Wahoo Kickr electronic trainer. Took me two months of training to feel comfortable. I have a Cannondale Carbon bike, but now have developed some serious neck pain on long rides. Plus bottom issues on rides more than 60 miles. Hence the Bachetta. Anyway, got the Atomic Zombie plans for their FrontRunner. I have been building it a little at a time. Just about to be on it's own two wheels. Soon the scary part of the bottom bracket welding. It seems like this is critical! Must be square and true to the front wheel. You have some interesting features! Any updates around, since this is 5 years old...

Nice I have an original Cruz bike made from a Cannondale mountain bike and another , using original Cruz bike Parts. It’s kind of fun, but boy is it heavy

Seems to run well. I own a very old Silvio which has a tiny bit of suspension. If you have another go at this style bike, maybe try fat tire to smooth bumps.

Interesting. What head tube angle? Apparently near vertical with forks reversed to give a good trail works lots better. Would it be easier to ride with the pedals closer in to the wheel?

Very good job sir! I was thinking about building one my self, but with a mod: an electric mid drive and a shaft, instead of chain, what would you advice?

Víctor René Valdivia Soto Yo no lo haria. Creo que hay que mantenerse dentro del Human power, siempre. yo creo que ese es el fin de una bicicleta. Encontrar comodidad, salud fisica y mental. Pero de forma minimalista. Cada peso que gastemos en algo electrico. Le cuesta en algo a nuestra tierra. Pero respeto cada pensamiento. saludos

Excellent work! Where can I get a seat like that, including the headrest?
@Gee-Man-Adventures3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The seat is from performer bikes. Or they come up on ebay occasionally. The headrest was built by me.

Thanks for showing the build I am looking to build another ebike and would like to put it on a recumbent style like this one lots of room for batt under tube for low center of gravity and electric hub in rear would make it a 2wd beast this is the best design thanks

there is an off set staggerd rear wheel set up.. a turning bank... I'm trying to find that.. but the reduction in weight using your front and elkin's backk is interesting

Nice one ...Now how would you say that hub performs vs a derailleur ?
@Gee-Man-Adventures5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I like the hubs gears. Not as efficient as derailleur but easier to use and I'm not racing anyone so it's all good.

Good work! A little advice, whenever you feel a little unstable or when riding over a rough patch just seat up a little bit. But the more you ride it the easier it's going to get. A laid back seat is good for long distance riding. If you are patient, practice at between 30 to about 37 deg seat angle, doing figure 8 manoeuvres in an empty parking lot 3 times a week. It is best in the long run. Add some toe clips or spd pedals and it gets even better. A more upright position is only good at the beginning but it can cause a "recumbent butt " pain problem when you start doing 100 mile rides. Here is mine: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3eWl56oqqZ-q5Y

Did you run into any instabilities with the bike? If so how did it happen and did you fix it? Thanks for posting this man, it;s a cool ride.
@Gee-Man-Adventures4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. No instability once you train yourself to ride one. It takes quite a while. You can get front wheel slip on very steep hills. I wish I still had it.

is it difficult to learn to ride cruzbike or recumbent bike LWB, SWB?
@briannugent55183 жыл бұрын
I ride a Cruzbike T50 frame set with my own components. Starting, cornering and riding slow are generally each a bit harder than with a non moving bottom bracket similar SWB high seat geometry. I mastered it after a couple of weeks. Learn in baby steps in an empty parking lot until you can safely corner before trying any roads. Your arms gradually learn to counter steer wobbling which is worst when peddling hard, so your biceps get a little workout too. Hills are hard for me now that I'm older etc so I use electric assist for instant starting and hills. You can expect to go up to 30% faster than a regular bike with same tires but a bit slower and wobblier on uphills.
