Hahahahaha! I cracked up during the speed up time!. LOL When I do my dog.... Not-so-easy! Do you have a method of stopping your dog from shaking the hair, and shampoo all over you, and the wall's? After she's done I have to clean the bathroom, and jump in the shower myself. LOL

Hello , I'm in Florida West coast for 2 years first time my dog gets a skin problem, the first mistake I went to the vet now it's all over his body red scally, bloody ,itchy, darker thicker skin. and some round white spots. I started two weeks ago all your natural option still gets red patch out of fur. Can i double your shampoo recipe? feels its not enough to cover whole body. I also bath him with Selsun blue but here they only sell 1% 2.5% are prescribed. this skin problem is so consuming we do not swim anymore in the gulf. cant wait to go back play in the snow.

My boyfriend thinks I give our pup too many baths but he is so itchy and just started getting scabs so I just started watching your videos and trying to get rid of them myself before I take him to the vet. I'm hoping I don't have to. How long should it take to heal ? I don't want to wait too long before I get him into the Vet!!!❤

Hi Kelly, Depends on the underlying cause- if it is mites you will need veterinary medication

I know this video is about homemade dog shampoo, but are there any commercial shampoos that you would warn against? Especially interested in the oatmeal shampoos and the Arm & Hammer super deodorizing shampoos.

Sam ogden if you watch his stinky dog video, he gets into how often to bath certain dogs. Pearl needs baths more often cause she has a yeast skin problem, so not all dogs need baths as often.

Hi and Thanks. Depends on the nature of the problem. Most dogs are fine once a month. With skin disorders it can be as often as every 3 days

Just want to say thanks for this video--I have recently discovered that COCONUT OIL kills fleas and has an antibacterial property so my 10 year old toy poodle who had SEVERE skin allergies and I was bathing her every 3-5 days has improved to the point where she only needs a bath every two weeks. I bathe her then only to give her poodle curls a freshening and she looks better after the bath. Sassy my little poodle has always spent time outdoors and because she has white fur it can get dirty looking pretty easily. The frequent bathing was necessary because of excessive fleas and her skin condition was a disaster. I never wanted to use chemicals on her fleas but did do frequent bathing and essential oils to try to combat the fleas. Since I have been using coconut oil over the past few weeks she has NO FLEAS! I say this as someone who had been fighting fleas with frequent bathing and applying essential oils to try to eliminate the fleas naturally without chemicals every 3-5 days for about the past 5 yrs. When it comes to soap a friend of mine suggested I get Sulfur Soap in a bar and this is an all natural soap with minerals from the Dead Sea shipped from Israel to help with her dry, itchy skin. It helped a bit but the fleas were still rampant. Now with the coconut oil most ALL of her scratching has ended. Sassy's former owner used to take her every two months to the vet for a prednisone injection to help stop the incessant scratching and speed the healing of her broken skin and sores. Sassy's skin allergies were so severe she would scratch to the point of bleeding. This was as you can imagine a nightmare for such a small little dog. Anyway this story has a happy ending because of COCONUT OIL and this came to me because I prayed to God and the angels for an answer to the fleas and scratching after SO MANY long years of suffering and struggle for both her and me. I use Dr. Bronner's and Dr. Wood's Castile Soaps and usually Dr. Wood's is a bit less expensive than Dr. Bronner's. Both are excellent castile soaps. I have used these soaps on just about everything for many years. For Sassy's freshening baths every couple of weeks now that she is FLEA FREE thanks to COCONUT OIL, I continue to use the Dead Sea Sulfur Bar Soaps or a gentle soap like Dr. Bronner's or Dr. Wood's. Earlier this year I switched both of my small dogs to a grain-free, chicken-free diet because I learned that toy breeds cannot digest cooked chicken properly and chicken and corn are often the main ingredients in many dog foods. Unless organically certified, the chicken is often fed GMO cornmeal. There is an excellent movie to watch called "Genetic Roulette" on Gaiam TV about this subject. It seems GMO corn used as feed for chickens and other livestock can cause severe allergies and even death. Sassy had always been fed a diet of chicken either as a main ingredient along with corn in the form of dry dog food or chicken that was cooked at home. Since cutting it out of her diet I believe this too has helped her severe skin allergies. Caryn Gayfield, R.N. retired, Long Beach, WA

Caryn, This is great info. Glad to know the coconut oil got rid of fleas! My dog also suffered from skin allergies. Bathing her once a week, applying coconut oil/manuka honey to her coat, adding raw local honey to her home-prepared grain-free/chicken free meals, and supplementing orally with hemp oil, Quercitin and Vit C pretty much halted all of her problems. GMOs are in all of our foods causing horrific long-term health problems. Glad an RN is talking about this! Thanks!

I'd love to make my own shampoo for greasy dogs. I'm a groomer and see lots of greasy & yeasty dogs. Any shampoo recipes you can share? I already use 50/50 apple cider and water as a after bath spray to dry them faster.

This is not just right. Vinegar or lemon juice will break down the Castille soap. The vinegar can be used after in a conditioning rinse to breakdown the remaking soap.
