Making really smooth & nice Tofu is quite challenging for most people. Tofu is healthy and cheap, a very delicious & nutritious ingredient for a variety of dishes. Everyone can make this easy egg tofu.
We have here a very easy, quick and simple Tofu recipe that is so quick to make and uses only 2 simple ingredients namely soya milk and eggs. If you follow this recipe I guarantee you will have smooth and silky tofu.
INGREDIENTS
1. 6 large Eggs
2. 500 ml unsweetened soy milk
3. 1/2 tsp himalayan rock salt

Greetings from Algeria where we make another kind of Tofu in university canteens out of the easiest recipe ever, eggs and milk- that's all....for example, 6 eggs and a cup of milk Hohenwald put it in a hot oven for like 10 minutes...you can also put it in a bag and boil it or steam it...

You can use high heat but your cover lid must be a bit ajar like in the video.

I made this too - it's great but I recommend coving with baking paper to stop the steam droplets getting on top of tofu as it cooks - now can I freeze some of this or no? Let me know 😁

Don’t keep in the freezer. Can chill in the chiller for 2-3 days, otherwise use to make other dishes. Check my channel on homemade tofu recipes. Can make quick tofu soup as well.

That is AMAZZZING !! Wow.... wow... Thank You for sharing your recipe... new subbie... I am looking for someone to show me how to make Homemade Tofu... I have Rennet for coagulation but have failed too be successful... always too runny.. not much tofu.. I tried with lemon juice.. Epsom salts... lime... always waste of soy bean... I am surely doing something wrong. Maybe I should buy Gypsum as I seen you use in a desert tofu tonight. Do you have regular video for Tofu ?? Thank You also

Not necessary. Please remember to keep the cover ajar like in the video to get a smooth surface tofu.

You follow exactly like in the video. Steam only once. If using homestyle heating power then you can use medium high heat but you have to open a bit gap in the cover like in the video.

Yes it is! Can be kept 2-3 days in the fridge. No cannot be kept in the freezer as texture will be rough n rubbery.

Yes it is. Round tube loaded with preservatives. Make your own if possible.

You can use parchment paper or baking paper. You can pour into bowl directly also but you won’t be able to cut nicely because it can stick in the bowl.

Please watch the video, telling what you should do to get a smooth egg tofu. Steam at medium high heat, cover but leave a gap. Steam for 25-30 mins.

It's a soy custard. Brilliant. I do prefer eggs to tofu nutritionally. What other reason to do this other than buy tofu? Cost?

Good question! It's homemade, fresh and full of soy fragrance. Cost is not the problem as tofu are always cheap. Commercial production of egg tofu always have preservatives added I think. This egg tofu comes in tubes we called them Japanese tofu and sold in supermarkets.

If you put 3 eggs then you have to also half the soy milk, that means add only 250ml of soy milk.

No no need just put in a sealed bag or glad wrap will be ok. Can only kept in fridge for 2-3 days.

No you cannot freeze..it will change the texture n will become rubbery.

Do we need to cook or fry again before eating?

Yes you can eat on its own, but I usually make a dish out of it. Can add to fried mushrooms or add to soup or pan fry tofu and add minced meat.

Maybe you steamed for too long and flame too hot. You can try again.

You try using the wok to steam like in the video, cover with a little gap open to let steam out.

May i know your egg (large) size is about how many grams ?

Large eggs usually weighed 65grams each.

Chua Peng Hiang If your burner flame cap is large you have to use medium heat but if small have to use high heat. Also have to leave a little gap in the cover like I show in the video. Seems so many people don’t follow like what I did in the video so they don’t get smooth tofu.

25-30 mins with the cover slightly open a bit. Watch the video again if you don’t understand what I mean.

Did you add too much milk? If your eggs are not large sizes u can add another small egg.
