Warning: Do not try using the Flair Machete technic at home! Good vid as always! Suggestion from comments... 1) Chum in the pond with bread pieces or instant potatoes balls first, then throw out seine /cast net over the feeding frenzy area. 2) Use a Lunker Rob type trap. Keep after it Andrew... You are one of the few I truly enjoy to watch!

Just run a heavy braid trot line across the pond stake it on each end and put 10- 20 snells on with circle hooks and bait try powerbait niblets or wax worms easier than night crawlers. Space them so they don't tangle (2 foot deep 2 foot apart). Harvest your catch every hour or so. Fry em up or toss in a live well for transport! Shouldn't bait the hooks and leave unattended though. It's a fast way to catch a lot of pan fish. There's regulations and limits on trot lines but since it's a private pond it doesn't matter. Good luck with those green gills!

As shown in this video, I can't think of a reason to have the bottle either, except maybe to show the visual representation of when a fish is hooked. Otherwise, the almost invisible fishing line dangling from the stick, may be hard to see from a distance.

You need to throw a ton of pond pellets into the water to start a feeding frenzie and then throw a cat net and you will catch an hour's worth of rod and reel fishing with one cast. You can find a 20' cat net for 60$ on eBay

How deep is the bakery? Maybe you could make some sort of "pontoon" type contraption. That you can make PVC wood or some other beams that go across and rig it up with line and bait. I've made them before out of 2x4s and plastic drums for catfishing Maybe scale dow something like that?
@phillipholland92

@Charliefarmz 6 жыл бұрын
The ones we built looked basically like a less primitive version of what he built in the video. They have drums on corner with a 2x4 frame and each then there's 2 foot tall box frame (without the walls) and going across is the beams we screw in eyelets that we tie our rings on. Sort of a trot line I guess but its mobile sometimes we would have a boat anchor on them. It's not tied to the land in any way. DNR officer (and my neighbor) didn't consider it a trot line.

Great idea if you come out to the pond/lake with those supplies. A PVC idea could definitely be done for this primitive fish trotline. But if you happen to be out somewhere and decided you want to eat some fish later in the day, I could see how finding a few of these supplies by the roadside or in the nearby trash area could be helpful.
@matth284
@matth284 6 жыл бұрын
In SC. That setup without the stick is called "jugging". And that setup without the bottle is called "set hook". Your better off using those bottles as a fish finder in deeper water. Hook a big crappie in the back with lots more line and let him go, he'll go back home with his buddies, exposing the nest site and tons more crappie cause he's dragging the bottle.(we use a balloon)

Get a real long rope and put it across a corner of the pond and hang a little longer lines with something that won’t come off as easily as worm so just different bait and space em like 3-5 feet apart and just put a bunch of lines on but make sure you use paracord or something so the rope doesn’t get too much slach and end up sitting on the water

Flair make a big one out of a 2 10 foot 2x4s and 2 sealed drums. Take 1 2x4 and mount the drums on the ends of it, so they are sitting on their sides; take it out to the water and float it to find where you need to place the second so it's balanced. Then do your bottle setup across the boards, maybe add sinkers. Could probably get 10+ lines to fit on it. You can anchor one side and it'll probably move around a bit to cover more water. 0==0

You're literally my favorite youtuber, maybe try out a DIY pond and stock it with like red tail catfish or some unique.

At your pond build a bridge or walkway over the feeder stream. Then hang your bottle lines under one side or the other. Won't have to get wet!

The bottles are not serving any purpose you can just tie the line to the stick and actually the fish will go for it better since the bottles are probably making the fish more cautious !
