to help those that confused, jelly is made with the juice or extract while jam includes the pulp

Looks 100% better than any jam that I have seen in a grocery lately. Your texture though was giving me euphoric memories of my mother's guava cheese had it been cooked for a little longer

I tried your sugar method today, and I have to say the thickness is superb! What I will add is that we used a ricer to get the seeds out after cooking, no blender, and there were only 2 in the jam after that! We put it through a sieve one time and it’s divine! Also, I used tonka bean (1/2 bean) and one fresh allspice leaf, just for 2 guavas. (Was a smaller batch experiment.) Thank you for this method!

Lovely. Tonkabean is an interesting choice. Will try that the next time I make a batch. Thanks!

😀😀 Thanks! I real want to see this guava without worms. What kinda magic is that
@seygra204 жыл бұрын
@@eatahfood It's not magic. I grew up with a guava tree in my backyard and I have never gotten a worm. Eaten it green, ripe, half-ripe no worm....my dad use to stockpile it made jelly....Mine was the guave with the white/cream flesh inside not this pink flesh...not sure if that makes a difference.

never had worms in our tree or others in the neighbourhood growing up, first time saw them was at a farm as an adult. Have a tree planted by birds, just started bearing 1by 1 not a worm to be seen

Thanks! It's an old saying. "What doh kill does fatten, what doh fatten does purge" Meaning what doesn't kill you will nourish you, and if it doesn't the worst that will happen is you end up in the toilet 😂

I had a guava tree and can't remember seeing worms
@loverofmysoul87424 жыл бұрын
I ain see further more taste a guava in 30 years. We had a tree growing up and it never had worms. Otherwise I wouldn't even touch that tree. I close muh eyes and muh skin still crawling. Thanks for the warning, hear. Can we get a pommecythere jam next? My favorite after guava. Next time try baking the puree in a shallow dish on low for a couple hours. May help with any further graininess. That's how I make apple butter.
