Homemade Laundry Detergent Mix

My version of homemade laundry mix. I'm enjoying the results, but i am using between 3-4 Tablespoons of the mix.

2 Bars Pink Zote Soap
2 Bars Fels Naptha
1 small container of Oxiclean
3 small boxes baking soda
1 large container Arm and Hammer crystals
1 large container Pyrex crystals
1 container Borax Detergent Booster
1 LA Totally Awesome orange
1 box Arm and Hammer Super Washing

I use same detergent and love it but I have never added the Awesome orange base cleaner. Where do you buy that at??

I wouldn’t just based off of the homemade laundry I just made… it will have no smell and mask no left over smells…. Fair warning. I want to try this recipe and see if this will save our family some money…. The liquid kind I just made makes things feel clean but they do not have a good scent to them and sometimes if the clothes had a strong smell it comes through after washing… 😢 I did the original recipe that another woman shared up here on KZbin about 8 yrs ago. It calls for it to be watered down and that is just a bad idea… I put several types of scents in it as well and could not smell any of it coming out of the dryer. 😢

Is this less expensive than pre mixed commercial laundry soap?

It depends. I try to catch the items on sale. Over all it is for me, but it only me and my husband.

Dollar Tree...but I can't always get it in that size. You may have to buy several small ones.

Does this work on front loading (HE) machines?

Some of the people I have seen do other versions of the powder. They say to remove the tray from the detergent holder and it will work fine. I only have a top load so I don’t know from first hand experience.

No modern washer or s designed to use soap, which requires hot water, vigorous agitation and thorough rinsing. Soap hasn’t been used to wash laundry for over 70 years.
