These meat pies or empanadas are my favorite comfort food! This recipe makes a flaky buttery crust on the outside and a moist flavorful and savory meat filling on the inside.
These pies are wrapped individually, making them perfect for on the go lunch, paired with a chill beverage. It also reheats really well in the microwave or toaster oven. I make them in bulk and store in a ziplock bag in the refrigerator or freezer for later use.

Ingredients used
For the crust
4 cups AP flour sifted
2 1/2 sticks cold butter
2 eggs
Ice cold water (1/4 cup or more)
Salt to taste
For the meat filling
1 lb ground beef
2 Tbsp if using lean meat
1 Tbsp freshly crushed garlic
1/2 chopped yellow onion
1/2 chopped green bell pepper
Black pepper to taste
Bullion/ salt to taste
Rosemary to taste
Chili (optional)
