Detailed tour of how I converted my outdoor boiler to run on waste motor oil. I include the components and part numbers of my setup. I can run wood, but I have unlimited access to used motor oil for free, so it's definitely a better option for me. Feel free to comment below with any questions or suggestions. Thanks for watching, and I hope you're having a great day! See you in the next one!

If you like the idea a temperature controller that turn off under a hundred degrees to kick off pump and blower. Youd bypass it during lighting but switch it over if the flame gets extinguished somehow itd cool down and cut voltage to them. You could even have one to alarm you in the same event. Itd be two different switches one is power off, equipment. One power on alarm. Thanks again

Very cool boiler, having the option of wood or oil is a great example. New oil burner is working awesome! Is it possible to see more details of the boiler build? The added moisture causes the oil to "extra vaporize" ;-)

I only took a couple of pictures when I was building the boiler. I needed to get it done and in service as soon as possible. Sorry about that!

Very cool. I might pick up some stuff to filter my oil before i put it into my jugs to transfer into the reservoir for my shop heater. A hydraulic wood splitter filter should be more than enough hahaha! Ill see what i can cobble together. Cheers! Thanks for showing this :)

You're welcome! I used to run it through an old sock. That worked great, too! I just wanted something I could spin on and off easily. Thanks for watching!

@@karlsoffroad i was honestly thinking about using an aquarium sump sock haha, just put it inside a 5 gallon bucket and pour into that its not super fine, but it will keep pine needles and debris that would interfere with the flow through the valve from getting into the system. i used to be big into aquariums, and built my own tanks and stuff, im pretty sure ive got a big sump sock kicking around still... the 5 gallon bucket filter i was using before was a pain to set up, and clogs so fast haha! there is some kind of clumpy stuff in the bottom of it from the last batch of oil i picked up... definitely dont want to run that through my valves and stuff on the burner haha!

Awesome setup! Powerful stuff is oil :) If it does burn through the walls of the chamber like it did the bottom, I would have the walls about 1/8" thick maybe and have a replaceable bowl inside made of stainless. Cheapish and easy to replace. Smashing the old coke build up using a scaffold pole doesn't help much either, mind you, with such a clean burn you are getting now you could probably only have to scrape the walls and bottom lightly with a screwdriver after each burn. 4 days though man! that's incredible! Time to invest in an industrial blower too, shop vacs have brushes and are noisy and will wear out much faster and eat the electric!

It is burning awesome even with the coolant contamination. I always use what I have lying around. I think it's time to spend some money so it will last. This design is very easy to clean, as you said, a few swipes with my pry bar, and it was ready to go back in. I didn't have to beat it with the pipe!😅

He might be able find a brushless shop vac. I know they make them. They're all so loud lol. Maybe just put it in a container to deafen the noise somewhat.

using wood is a lot of work for heating so free oil is a great choice and you do not have to pack the stove every day.

Wish ya had the pictvid of the water bbl stove build. Hope it holds out but most times 3~5years a oil drum will rust thru. Boiler additives may help Posted mostly to help YT ratings

I only took a few pictures. I built the boiler three years ago. I wasn't doing KZbin then,so I didn't think about documenting the build. I guess if it doesn't last, I'll video the replacement. I do run a treatment, so hopefully, it will hold together for many years. I don't do anything for ratings. Everything I do is in hopes that it will help someone in some way. This is not how I make a living. Thanks for watching!

Hmmm thought. Do you think a air valve or diverter on the ship vac could give you perfect control.

The air is constant, I only adjust the fuel. I accidentally knocked my suction hose to the bottom of my tank and sucked up pure coolant. That's why it was running a bit up and down. I usually light it with diesel and can give it full air immediately, set my oil flow, and walk away. I would like to find a continuous duty pump and blower for better longevity. I just keep a few backups in stock for now! Thanks for watching and your suggestion!

Does you pump have some kind of return line on it? Or do you just let it kind of deadhead into the needle valve and it build a little pressure? and doing that doe that make the pump hot?

I could use a 6-inch stainless steel pipe with a 3/16 or 1/4 wall with an 8-inch pipe on the outside. Both can be about 10 inches tall. Do you have anything on hand?
