They make a pump fits on a barrel an you can put a garden hose on it. Hand pump. Farm fleet

“About zero degrees pretty cold” he said calmly. Respect sir at 0 degrees (doesn’t happen that often here) I’m reconsidering if I want to live in Oklahoma or maybe moving to a nice warm desert. It’s 44 degrees and I’m looking at waste oil heaters 😆

GREAT HEATER ! I'm in Idaho too, but just north of Middleton (40 mins west of Boise). I wish we were closer so I could actually see your heater and discuss it w/you. I made one, but It's so difficult to gauge the air flow. It goes from glowing red down to 300-ish degrees and I don't know why, but it's a natural aspiration (no fan). Oh, well. With Spring just around the corner, I'll make mods when the weather warms up, and I'll have it ready for next winter.

If you RV and find yourself in northern Idaho you can stay in our RV park and I would be happy to give you the grand tour.

Like the design. I did mine a few yrs ago now. Same "sort" of design. The welded bottom rotor probably takes a while to heat up. My "small space" I want LONG BURN At a LOWER TEMP as I don't want to "overheat" everything. 😂 I have SS (double boiler) dish that is heavier, set it in to a cast iron kettle. The Down Draft tube on mine also in the center w the oil feed down the air inlet blower motor. Ran 4 gallons thru it that took just about 18hrs on a low flame on those cold days.😊

How far is your air supply tube from the bottom of the bottom brake rotor? Do you have one single big air supply hole, or the pipe have tinny holes for air?
@shaunglazier10 ай бұрын
It is approx. 2" from the bottom of the burn pot. the oil supply tube stops about an inch short of the end of the blower tube. I also drilled holes around the perimeter near the end. up inside the blower tube I welded in a centering fixture to keep the oil tube centered in the tube.

Would a thermosyphon system work to pump the oil into the bucket instead of a transfer pump

Beautiful burner... I wish you would make a how to make video. The cupper tube going in from the top does it reach the rotter or does it end at the welding? Thanks :)

Great suggestion! The copper tube runs all the way to just short of the combustion air tube. Trick is to have the drip form inside of the air stream to help atomize it for better combustion.

What are you using for the stove body?

Is that exhaust piping? For the air supply

It is 1-1/2 EMT conduit because I'm a sparky by trade 😂

Make a carbon felt type bushing at the spot you dump oil. You won't need gas. You can start vegetable oils with it. Ive used copper pipe that sits in a dish that wicks it. I can tell you got a valve for a nice slow drip.

How often do you have to clean the rotor cup? Looks like it burns very clean!
@shaunglazier7 ай бұрын
It seems to keep itself pretty clean, when it is cherry red like it gets nothing can survive lol

What's under the rotors? Just a cup or bowl?

Nice> Look on yputube videos for small block Chevy oil pump for waste oil transfer. Works well using a good 1/2 inch drill motor.

I had a go trying to weld big rig brake discs. What ever rod I had and tried, after cooling, my seams just peeled t.f. off... What did you weld yours with ?
