This is just absolutely insane! Your work is very inspiring so thanks for sharing it. I plan on building a 12 string lap steel at some point and I want to try to have a go at building my own palm benders similar to the ones on the Duesenberg steels too but what you've built is just absolutely beyond my imagination. Who knows, maybe when I have a few more years worth of building experience I might possibly be able to start thinking about doing something like this. Your work has nothing but respect and admiration from me.

Richard, can you tell me the angle degree on the 1/2 x 1 inch aluminum leg support bar, and are the holes treaded . It looks so nice.

How many hours do you think it takes to build this? Looks like a great deal of work. Good job.

I could only guess as I have never logged my time. Probably between 30 and 40 hours. The next one I build I will log the hours. I may be way off.

thank you for the response, after going on the steel guitar builders forum i decided to go with rock maple. Are your metal parts aluminum or steel? I can weld aluminum but I would have to get a new argon tank, lots of $$$....thanks for any info you are willing to share.

Mostly aluminum but some steel such as the 3/8" round cross rods. If you are on facebook look up "Amatuer Steel Guitar Builders" I am Richard Miller

Hi there again from Australia- this looks absolutely awesome, but way too much monkey business for me. I like the idea of a 'straight' lap steel guitar. I totally appreciate the work you have put into making this guitar. I understand what the pedals are there for. Just too 'complicated ' for me. 🤔🤪

Is the width of top 7.5 inches or 5.5 inches as with the 6 string. Sorry, but I'm just full of question.
@rzsdad13 жыл бұрын
I think it was 7 1/4"

How did you mill the nut slots so smooth. They are beautiful.. Are you using any roller bearings. They say, If you want to get good at something, try to learn from the best...
