Ok soooo we might have been just as disappointed with the last FireTurd test as you were. That thing was running worse than Bad Daddy Braddy's t-bucket on Jon's drag racing test. So we fixed it up and now it runs mint, so we can REALLY see if our homemade forced induction works.

Its was at this moment (4:57) that the Hoonigans realized that a simple tune up could do 🤘 Reminds me a lot of the Roadkill Monza episode, made boost, but just didn't have the volumetric ability to keep up to the engines demands in a real pull down the strip. Also assuming ppl are going to mention this, so, I'm going to guess the vacuum advance was left off the dizzy on purpose to control the spark advance under "boost", aka less math by using only the mechanical advance, easy way out but it'll do for this car bc who cares🤷‍♂️. Junkyard Digs towards the beginning they mentioned they locked the distributor out which means they locked it so it had no vacuum advance and no mechanical advance (no weights and springs). So the timing will stay a constant amount and not change with the rpm range (such as I do on my circle track motor lock them out to 37*)

Junkyard Digs to further garrets comment, vacuum advance only kicks in at part throttle cruise, it's mostly for economy and keeping sparkplugs from fouling up, I had to disconnect vacuum advance after putting a bigger cam on my engine because I was getting erratic timing at cruise due to the loss of vacuum (from the camshaft) I retained the mechanical advance

Dude, what are you using to power those? *EACH* one of those carpet fans draw *AT LEAST* 1650 watts! You not only need an alternator that supplies at least 275 amps output for the 2 carpet fans alone, but also a battery (or a few batteries) that can support that continuous. Then the inverter needs to handle at least 3300 watts. And that’s not even including the 2 original turdos, because I have no clue how much they draw. I guarantee those fans aren’t pushing 1/10th of their potential. The cheapest solution to make it work right for a short burst is 8 deep cycle batteries in the trunk that are charged before each run. A 7500 watt inverter in the trunk, close to the batteries to reduce DC power loss. And let the car run off the alternator and engine battery so you’re not robbing the ignition system.

They never actually used the “turbos”. The entire thing was faked using NO2. Cheating was far easier and far cheaper than building an electrical system capable of running this setup.

With 8 deep cycles you could run those fans for nearly a hour if not longer. Any decently sized automative battery could run those fans. They just need them on for 10 seconds at a time. Don't some winches pull 300-400 amps when you get to the 8-12k range? And that's at idle/single battery for a few minutes at a time. Not literally just 10 seconds
