But now you have a Plasma Cutter to add to the garage! Great job! I know this video is a few years old. But I’m building a stool myself and buying one like this is $599(Viper) today in 2024. I was thinking about how you laid out the spacing for the legs. They must be 72 deg apart, what did you use for that?
@805ROADKING3 жыл бұрын
I used the Kid!! He took the circumference of the center hub divided it by the legs for the inside marks then he added the length of the legs and figured out the distance between the outer legs!! I just checked it with a digital protractor and you're right, it's 72°!!☺

I mentioned it in the comments on the first video you put up with the plasma cutter, you need to find a "drag cup" for cutting with a template, or a straight edge. That would work well even with these thinner templates. If memory serves, and the drag cup puts the cut about 3/16" from your straight edge or template so you would have to adjust accordingly by putting your straight edge 3/16" from the cut , or if doing a hole template you would need to use one about 3/8" larger to account for the standoff of the drag cup. Pardon the pun, but I'm a little rusty when it comes to this type of metal fab work, plus whatever brand plas cutter you are using may have a drag cup with different dimensions. I hope this helps you out, RK, and I love the videos! P.S. When can we expect to see the" RK shop stools" on the market?

I absolutely love the design of this stool. Turned out beautifully. I imagine you spent a pretty penny on all the metal/hardware though. Yes it is a solid and nice stool but if I am going to spend $100+ on supplies - I'd probably just buy something that's already built. Nice job on those pieces bud! I really like those three holes on the legs! I started to cringe when I saw how rusty the plate was before you used the plasma arc, but you mentioned that you should’ve cleaned it up first. That will make a big difference with your cuts when you’re dealing with clean metal, much cleaner, smoother cuts when you do so!

For the future, know that you can get cheap acme threads out of those spring clamps used for removing tension off suspension springs.
