Homemade SNES 4-player multitap adapter

It'll still be fun to do :-) I bought two SNES front port assemblies on eBay to end up with four total sockets, but it would have been better to just buy four SNES extension cables and cut them up. Tip for you: extension cables only have 5 of the 7 SNES pins wired up. That'll work fine for the four controller sockets, but you need all 7 wires in the cable that plugs into the SNES. I stole 2 pins from one of the extension cables' plugs and put them into another one to get all 7 pins.

To be completely honest, it's mostly sports games that support it other than the Bomberman series. But there's an (incomplete) list of games on Wikipedia if you look under "SNES Multitap".

The Bomberman games would probably be the best use of it. If you're into sports games, a lot of those are supported too, including NBA Jam. I think Secret of Mana supports 3 players but the 3 player gameplay kind of sucks if I'm not mistaken.

@doogulass Hello, for this project employee, is it mandatory to use 10k resistors, or does it work without them?

It has been a super long time since I built this, but I would recommend following the circuit exactly. 10k resistors are very common so it shouldn’t be a problem to get some.

Nice! There are many games you can play with more than 2 players. This my favorites list Sunset Riders The Avengers Double dragon and battle Toads NBA JAM
