Sausage, and add some finely chopped chicken livers when you cook your sausage. Gives the dressing a lot of flavor.

Dice up an apple and mix it in before you bake. Brings just a touch of sweetness, it's great!

Thanku Dan!!!! This is exactly how I learned the most wonderful stuffing recipe from my Mom, here in southwest Wisconsin, and I agree with u, it's simply the best to me too!!! I hav tried others, made new ways, I found nothing can compete with this super thanksgiving stuffing!!!!

Add some dried cranberries to that and it would be a winner! Next time butter/the baking pan real well before adding the stuffing. You can even brush with a little melted putter on top and put back in on broil to crisp up the outsides/top a little more if wanted.
