This is my first time commenting. When I was 14 years old back in 1974, I stood right where your were standing on the summit of Mt.San Jacinto. It was such a clear day. I looked out and saw the far away Pacific Ocean.

Dixie, it was great to see the summit of San Jacinto again! I summited the mountain 60 years ago and it looks the same today, including the snow. I did it Memorial Day, 1957. I'm still hiking! Keep going! The best is yet to come!

I don't watch Miss Dixie for her looks. I don't watch Miss Dixie for her pretty smile. I watch Miss Dixie because she gives me the inspiration that I wish I could have had years ago from people closer to me... Thank you Miss Dixie. Good fortune and safe travels to you and those around you. BTW you're prettier than a daisy after a spring rain ;)

Wow Dixie, wow. Watching this video the thought really sank in, one of my knives, something I designed and worked on with my own hands is going with you on this amazing journey. Just l like you, your knife will be tried, tattered and torn, with each scar a story many will never know, bearing record of the journey. Just like you will be a different person at the end of the trail, so will that knife. I am grateful to be a part of your journey, you are an inspiration to many, keep going and enjoy the journey on the way!

Your editor deserves mad props, your filmography has also continued to get better and better. I started watching during the AT and I just thank you, so much. Seeing a new video is a thrill, it's gotten to the point where I might watch you before a new Greys Anatomy (and I more than love Greys Anatomy). Perk adds some great comedy to your "climb" so thank you to him as well. Just all round thanks, your videos inspire me.

I'm glad you are getting some snow skill practice. Watched another PCT 2017 KZbinr who made it over Forester & to independence via kearsarge. He has 5 yrs experience snow mountaineering. He had skis...and those w/o were postholing waist deep, even with snow shoes. He saw several S&R helicopters in the area. He used crampons to climb some steep & icy paths. I hope you are able to get a good picture of conditions to decide what's best for you. Luv your videos!! 😻😻😻

I'm excited to see how you guys handle the sierras since the snow pack is insane this year!
