Thank you for your message to the moms out there. My mom was a working mom in the 80s when the majority of other moms around her were homemakers who often put pressure on her that she was supposed to be making our lunches from scratch and needed to be more involved and present for a lot of the school events when she was working. She always hated that and had a lot of guilt thinking she was not a good mom or needed to do more and as a result, often over extended herself. Messages like this are great because one method of being a mom doesn't work for all and we should give mom's the grace to figure out motherhood in the best way they know how.

I currently deal with this. It’s hard the women at work have NO kids or older kids and most ppl in my neighborhood and on KZbin don’t have to work a job outside of the home. I appreciate Lauren as she’s done both with the 9-5 having a boss and now she is self employed. So her schedules inspired me. I totally get how your mom felt 🫤

@mariapoca00 my heart goes out to you. I think in those tough moments just ask yourself are your kids happy, your partner if you have one, yourself...these are what matter and not their opinions.

As a full time stay at home momma of 4 boys ranging in age from 11 to 24 & 2 with special needs, I understand this pressure. In todays society I feel that things have switched & now working moms are more the rule & stay at home moms the exception. Even though I am super busy with our own family I also help a ton with my aging parents & special needs nephew. Despite this I receive regular comments about being lazy ( because I don't have a paycheck) or questions about what I do all day, or you must know all the good shows to binge .... It is sad that people judge moms. It's literally the hardest job no matter how you chose to live it. We all love our children & want to do whats best for them.

@louisechartrand5672 yes, this 100%. I'm sorry you're going through that but you know who you are and what you do for others. People are going to think and say what they want but we all need to remind ourselves whose opinions ACTUALLY matter. Keep doing what you are doing. You've got this!

You inspire me in my season of life. I was a busy mom in the 80’s and 90’s and now that I’m finally retiring from my career, I look forward to baking bread for the first time, starting at least an herb garden, cooking nice meals and experimenting with new recipes and learning Spanish. It’s never too late to start living the life you’ve always wanted.

Thank you for the encouragement regarding not pressing yourself to be "all the things" and doing "all the things" right now for our families. As people change and grow, priorities change and grow too. And that's okay. It's about the journey. I love your channel Lauren, so happy I found you last year!!! Been encouraged with your videos ever since. 🩷🩷🩷

As a mom with two little ones, thank you for your honesty and your words of encouragement. It's nice to know that I'm not the only mom that just doesn't have time for all the extra stuff. My youngest is always on my heels and climbs my legs while I'm doing the dishes lol I'm lucky to just keep my house clean, let alone make homemade pasta!

Hey Lauren, One garden tip. Your plants have lots of foliage which you would think is good. However, I always prune my tomato plants so only the stems that grow at a 90 degree angle are left. The plant can’t support all the foliage AND make fruit. Hope this helps.❤️

Lauren, thank you so so so much for talking about moms with younger kids. I’m 37 and have a 1 and 3 year old. I love mommy vloggers but it can definitely make you feel inadequate sometimes 😅 it’s so encouraging to hear what you said. It’s all I can do to keep them safe and entertained at the moment, let alone keep a clean house and make homemade meals all the time. After my first was born I used to watch other moms with their 3rd newborn and cry because somehow they could take care of their babies and had the energy to take care of their other children, clean house and even put makeup on and I felt like such a failure. It took having a second to realize that with more kids comes more knowledge which can make things a ✨little✨easier. Anyways, just wanted you to know, thank you.

Thank you, Lauren, for speaking to the pressures that so many can often feel to somehow, not just do it all, but to do it all prefectly. 🙌 My boys are ones that I can never get anything done while they are around. I have never been away from them, we have little to no help, my husband works all the time since I currently don't, and they did not go to any day care, etc. at first, my health has been rough, and oh yes, of course there was that hell called COVID... My point is my kids are five and three, and just the other week they finally started to go into another room, and even a different level of the house some to play on their own. I have been lucky to just keep my head above water while trying desperately to catch up on life from before we had children and I worked 50-60 hour weeks. You are so right that being able to do it all is crazy, feeling like you have to or should is ridiculous for you and and your family. Thank you again for knowing this and caring enough to take the time to say it. As always, you are my favorite, and I consider you a dear ("Tube" 😉) friend! ❤

Great video Lauren! I am a 68 year old grandmother but really appreciated your encouragement to young moms out there. I couldn’t help but laugh when you said you were not going to do much but add a dew flags you your table! 😂 So I was expecting flags in a few vases but you went full out with a beautiful tablescape! I think the flags were great along with the other decor. I will say Lauren you make everything look so easy. 😊❤😊🇺🇸🧨🌻

Lauren, thank you so much for what you said to Moms with little kids. I have a 2.5 year old and just adopted a newborn and I feel like even though I love my life and my kids, it’s easy to feel guilty for not doing all the homemaking things. Thanks for the reminder that my kids want me to lay on the floor and play with them, not make them homemade bread all the time. Thank you - you’re the best.

I honestly didn’t notice your sweater was on inside out. Lol Love the black and white tank top wore in the second half of the video. It’s so pretty! I laughed when pointed out all the flag decor you used. I did the same but with stars. 😂 Thank you for sharing your story of parenting with little ones. We always put so much pressure on ourselves thinking we need to do it all. I started looking for videos on moms getting things done with kids (especially little ones) the end of 2019 because I felt like I wasn’t doing enough and was my own worst enemy. KZbin moms like you, Brianna k, and Kim Wads helped me realized that I need to be more in the moment and present with my kids instead of worrying about things that can wait. I’m so thankful for the KZbin moms who are here to help motivate and encourage moms to be more present and remind us we are not alone.

I got into home making once I was no longer working full time. I would cook meals for my family nightly after work, but there wasn’t much effort in the making many items from scratch. Eating out or takeaway was a 3 night event…now it’s rare. Sometimes it takes time to get into a rhythm that works and I finally found mine after being a mom for thirteen years. Thanks for sharing this because sometimes moms will look at you and think that it’s impossible, when it may just take time.

Can I just say I don't have kids and I love this channel. Your food always looks great and its just lovely, peaceful and friendly and full of love to watch you create for you family. I think of my parents and the memories of them. I think of my mom. I amthe youngest of four in my family. My older sister and twin siblings were busy and even though I got along great with my sisters and brother, there was a age gap so I did a lot with my folks. One of the many memories I cherish is decorating the windows and house for the holidays with my mom. She had the cute vintage cut outs for the windows which I love still. Xmas was my dad's holiday since his bday was in December. I do struggle with weight and health issues so I hoped to see more of your intermittent fasting which I'm trying with no success. I think my 😬 stress does not help but just to get inspired and not completely copy since we are different but have inspiration. I love when you talk about your stuff as well. Thank you for your inspiration keep it up Amiga.

So so true! Enjoy every second with those babes because with the blink of an they are grown! I was fortunate enough to be able to stay home with our three. My husband worked two jobs that enabled me to do so. We had the best time. Some days we would meet my husband at a park during his lunch hour for a picnic and sometimes we would meet him at a restaurant. Our kids are grown now and have kids of their own. I was fortunate enough to be a big part of my grandkids lives and we did so much together and wet a lot of places. Two of them just graduated high school this past June and the other one is a senior this coming year. Time has definitely flown by. So spend all the time you can with those precious little ones. They’ll remember it and you won’t regret a minute of it I promise you!!!

Hi Lauren! I love your message about being present while kids are very little. I totally agree. I wasted A LOT of time trying to be the perfect home maker when my first two kids were babies/toddlers. When my third was born I chose to slow all that down and focus on being a mom. It was the best decision I ever made. Simple home made meals instead of 3 hour 4 course meals. I was taught at 8 years old how to cook, clean and do my whole family’s laundry. I taught my daughter the same thing. She was self sufficient by 9 years old. She did house cleaning, cooking and laundry. I never had to worry about her once she went to college. I personally, thought it was good for her to know. She stayed home by herself and was babysitting, making her own money by 12.

To each their own. My daughter grew up to be very respectful and responsible. She graduated a 4 year college in 3 years, bought their first home at 21 and second one at 24. She is a very well rounded person who is appreciative for everything she’s ever received. She is an only child and had many privileges. Everyone can choose how to raise their children.

@@amyberndt6186 No. I disagree. Your daughter could have been equally as successful in many, many ways. She could have travelled the world at 24, immersed herself in any number of interests and curriculums which would add to HER happiness, not yours. The way your daughter lives meets with your approval. She doesn't need your approval nor should she look to you in any form of supplication.. No where did I say she was hurt or burdened. At least I certainly hope not.

Sometimes when we were little we would play restaurant and would make each other lunch. We would make a menu with different things we would know how to make and then I would make whatever my sister wanted and then she would make my lunch. Usually it was just different types of sandwiches ( lunch meat, PB&J ect...) We had picnics with neighborhood kids too. Just make a sandwich and grab a bag of chips and meet up at a friend's house. Sometimes we'd eat on a blanket in the yard, sometimes we'd hang blankets on a clothes line like a tent and eat in there. I also watch Becky from Acre Homestead. She really got me interested in making my own freezer meals

Hi Lauren! You inspire me every time I watch you! My kiddos are grown Have 2 grandbabies! We just purchased a wood fire pizza grill. I saw your video you had a pizza night. I'm sure your kids would love to make their own pizzas and bake them in a wood fire pellet grill!! So funny Making memories is what it's all about!!❤

As far as the dishes, go… One of the channels I watch, (Moss Gamily TV) has five kids and their family. (Ages 4-18) They have a kitchen help her every day. That person helps at dinner time to either help with the meal or set the table or clear the table or help wash or dry the dishes, whatever is needed. It might be fun in the summer, when your kids don’t have massive amounts of homework, to assign each one to a day and then they get used to the dishes idea when they’re cooking! so neat that you are creating a little gourmets!

You can never go wrong with to many flags😂 festive that's all, still looks great. July 4th is a favorite for us as well. Love to decorate for it till this year when I realized I gave the majority of my decor to my daughter who just moved out, it's her favorite holiday... its ok, new decor and more shopping. For me 😂 For you beautiful garden, try planting the herbs in their o you n pots, it might h er lp bbn out, trim off excess stems and leaves that way all the nutrients will go to the vegetables.
