You're amazing! Great energy. Your biscuits are fabulous.... I'll share one suggestion...if you use a biscuit cutter (sharper edge than a glass) it cuts the dough & allows it to rise much higher (the dull edge of a glass presses the dough together) I learned this a few years back from my sis who is a passerie in Switzerland. Try peeling and quarter some pears and cover it with Porto wine some sugar, cinnamon stick a tiny bit of vanilla and boil everything on low for 15 or 20 minutes. Such a great side, similar to your figs. Só good! also you can top it with mascarpone cheese.

YES to the Roma tomatoes! I enjoy all varieties of tomatoes(some are so sweet like candy...yum) but RT's are just SO versatile. Caprese salads and Bruschetta are two of my all-time fave foods but I also make a Persian dish called Shirazi Salad using Romas. It's tomatoes, cucumbers(wthout seeds) and white onion all chopped up and mixed wth EVOO and RWV, salt, LOTS of black pepper and dried mint leaves. The secret is to rub the mint btwn your hands to release the flavor. This can be served immediately wth thin crispy pita or naan, but it tastes even better the longer it sits and marinates....DELISH!! Btw, LOVE your videos...so beautiful and traditional!

As a high school principal an mom of 5 I feel you. My babies are raised and have their own families. I am still super busy with work and keeping life straight. you can do this! A favorite recipe is risotto with mushrooms, shallots, chicken stock, parmesan, and peas. Of course I add butter at the end to finish it and chardonnay while cooking the garlic and onion.

Hi Lauren! I just found your channel and immediately fell in love with your interior design and recipes. Thank you so much for sharing all your ideas with us. I also love to make bruschetta and always had the problem with the tomatoes becoming to moist on the bread and it became soggy. But when I remove the inner, liquidy part of the tomatoes and just use the fleshy part, the bruschetta has much better consistency and the bread stays nice and crispy.
