I happily stay far, far away from any volcano, erupting or sleeping! I just dont trust them. But I have heard of Taal before. I had no idea it's a national park though. Now that is a national park I hope no one visits - except maybe for scientists. Who would want to go near it when it makes that huge mess of ash! 😮 imagine the sound it must make too. Great music Silki! ❤ Hope Apollo is doing well!

Taal is very dangerous in 2020 it was on alert as it could cause a pyroclastic Tsunami wave across the island, thankfully it did but it didn't but it had a large ash cloud with troublesome earthquakes in the areas surrounding.

Great job on that amazing opening. My aunt was in the Philippines through the late 60s and early 70s. I think this is the one she told us about with the island in the lake in the Crater. But I may have it confused with another volcano.

Hi Silki! Another YIKES!😳 😮 And thank you. Great opening!!!!! Side note, I worked with medical docs from the Philippines and two of them ended up helping save my life in two different surgeries that went seriously sideways. They had helped train me, we worked together for several years and then….first surgery was a surprise, second not so much but still a bit unexpected so I have a special place in my heart for the Philippines for sure. 😊

It is pronounced Ta-al. Many years ago I took a boat to this island. I paid a guide to climb to the crater rim. Taal has been quite active in recent years.

Taal is explosive, obviously, so not a good option for swimming. Other than that as long as it keeps erupting regularly there should not be a big problem. That could happen if it does not erupt for a long time and pressure builds.

I think I know a place for the Lagoonies to go here in Germany: The Laacher See in the Eifel region. It's a volcanic area, and I've seen pictures of gas bubbles on the banks of the lake, so the volcano underneath is dormant, but still somewhat active. I once was in that region for some months, unfortunately in winter, which is not an ideal season for swimming*. Last eruptions of the Eifel volcanoes were between 11,000 and 13,000 years ago, so scientists say, but in geological time spans, that happened only yesterday. *: Exceptions might apply for polar bears and antarctic penguins

To the person who asked about Blue Lagoon, I hope you see this. Yes, these seems to be quite a bit of click bait and misinformation. I believe the headlines are sensationalist and exaggerated. If appears that lava has covered portions of the car park at Blue Lagoon. Guests were evacuated before the arrival of the lava, according to the questionable article. There was footage of some reputable people I've seen before, but they may have been included just to lens it credibility. All of his headlines are almost identical with the name of the location changing. I'll keep my eyes open for more info.

Some „creators“ are exaggerating it. At least here on this Channel the infos are accurate

My father was stationed at Subic Bay Navy base from 67-69 and we experienced 3 large earthquakes. The base was eventually covered in ash and took some heavy damage. In was abandoned and the land sold to the Philippine government. I'm pretty sure this volcano was the culprit.

Is there a video that isn't sped up? I thought it was some timelapse camera but there's another version with sound I just watched. The sound reached the camera in about a second. I'm not saying it is, but does that (the musical part ) look fake to anybody else?

@cailieravn371812 күн бұрын
Yes. Almost every caldera-lakes is acidic. It depends on how active they are. There can be furmaroles and gas venting. If I were you, I wouldn't dip my toes in it.

This is totally off topic but I saw a post today on You Tube stating that the Blue Lagoon had been covered by magma today. My heart nearly stopped. There was nothing on any regular channel so I realized it was probably fake news. I blocked the channel and reported it. Can someone, anyone tell me if these click bait channels are coming their way…and perhaps confirm this was garbage.
@mwheape12 күн бұрын
I have not seen this one, but there are a LOT of click bait out there that targets those of us who are fascinated by geology, volcanoes, earthquakes, and Tsunami.
