Again, I am so incredibly grateful for your videos! You have taught me more than anyone else about homeschool, Disney and other interesting topics like how to save money. Thank you!!

That is so nice of you to say and so encouraging to me! I'll keep trying to make videos that are helpful and stay tuned because I have some more Disney videos planned. :)

I love seeing how other people plan and what they are using. I basically wrote a textbook for my daughter myself. I took what I liked from each curriculum and just did it myself. Emma is 10 but she had so many gaps from being stuck in a corner at school that we started from scratch with kindergarten in December. She was 9 and knew most of it but she felt better making sure and reviewing. This year she should be grade 5 but we got a THGB book that has no grade level only skill level. We got level 3 and shes like "Mommy thats harder than what we did at school" but she loves it. I love all the school rooms and yours is gorgeous wish we could have one but we are in a small apartment. When its nice we go do work at the park. But mostly were at home in our living room. I definitely need to find that logic and analogies book

That felt super overwhelming for me! Props to all of you homeschooling mamas! I’m going to search the playlist and see if there’s a video of what your day to day is like as well as a week. Interest peeked

I did a daily/weekly rotation video last school year and talked about how our week typically flowed. I can try to do that video for this upcoming school year if you’re interested. If so, I could probably get it up around October after we’ve had time to settle into our new schedule.

for Geography... because the lessons are so short for the Daily Geography, we just do all of them on Fridays. It makes for a nice time, studying the sheet and reading the lesson notes, then answering the questions. It takes us about 15 minutes, unless we are really interested in a place, then it takes a bit longer.

Thank you so much for sharing! I'm going to look into the Evan Moor Daily practice books, the Mind Benders book, Analogies book, and the scholastic vocabulary for my two girls! They look so so good and the best part is they don't cost an arm and a leg! Lol You're one of my favorite youtube homeschool moms and I love watching your videos, they've helped me out A LOT with information and starting my first year of homeschool this year.
@aplacetonest6 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad my videos have been helpful to you! :) You're right, those books aren't very expensive and with the Evan Moor ones in particular, I find it's cheaper to buy the ebooks and print them myself when they have a coupon code. A lot of times they'll offer anywhere between 30-50% off their website and that's when I like to pick up a lot of their e books.

I can not recommend this one highly enough and the optimum year to begin it is 3rd grade..the Robinson Curriculum. It changed the way we looked at education completely and had more quality impact on my kids than anything else we had tried! After years of Robinson we became eclectic UNschoolers with a huge curiosity to learn and teach ourselves ANYthing. ❤️

You will love the Arthropods study. We are doing it this summer and we LOVE it!! And I just scored a used History 1 from TGTB with the game for a great price. I can totally geek out over curriculum! You are going to have a fantastic year. Great picks.

is TGAB book a consumable? Like do the kids write in it or is it like a regualr textbook? We got the Language arts download totally free from them but I am not sure if I should find history 1 used or just buy new.
@aplacetonest6 жыл бұрын
There are some pages that you would need to copy if you intend to use it with more than one child but not very many. I really want to try their History program and will probably start it in the 2019-2020 school year.

I love your analogies book. I’m considering BJU English 3. We’re doing FLL and I struggle to do it every week. I think this might be a better flow. Thanks so much for sharing 🦋

We are loving BJU so far! We are about half-way through English 3. I do supplement each week so, for example, if it's a writing chapter, I give her independent grammar work and vice versa.

Hi there! I find that the good and the beautiful language arts curriculum is choppy- one day writing, next day spelling, following day poems/art for example. It's been hard to get in a writing flow- would you recommend your L.A. curriculum and have you found it to flow nicely?
@aplacetonest6 жыл бұрын
My oldest is using TGATB and my youngest is using Bob Jones English. Even Bob Jones alternates a chapter or writing with a chapter of grammar so I have a feeling a lot of comprehensive L.A. programs do that. One thing I'm doing with my youngest is supplemental workbooks. So if she's doing a grammar chapter, I have her do a writing assignment out of a writing workbook and if she's doing a writing chapter, I have her do extra grammar practice from a grammar workbook. That way I don't have to worry that she's forgetting anything while working on a different topic. Does that make sense? Spectrum and Teacher Created Resources Daily Warm-Ups are both good options for supplemental workbooks. I hope that helps!

Hello, where we can get all those materials? I try to start homeschooling and have no idea how to start or where to fined materials to start classes. I pul my son out of public school because of the bullying and now we on a waiting list to online k12 school, so I had to register to homeschooling and it's just overwhelming.
@aplacetonest6 жыл бұрын
I'm sure that must be very difficult and frustrating. While you're waiting, I would get on Amazon and purchase some Spectrum workbooks that are at your child's level. They're inexpensive and fairly comprehensive for a workbook. They're also something you can benefit from as extra practice once you get going with K12.

@@aplacetonest Hello, can you please help me to find what testing will have 3rg graders at the and of the year? What requirements to pass a 3rd grade?
@aplacetonest6 жыл бұрын
That is all based on the state that you live in so our requirements would be different than yours. You should call your state's Board of Education and ask them what testing is required and what you need to keep/report to them at the end of the year. I hope that helps.

I try to but if I skip anything it would be science. To me, at that age, reading and math are the most important subjects to cover each day.
