Re-watching! The What we Eat in a Day videos are my favourite. Also seeing how sweet it was when Caleb would take Abigail out for morning chores 💜 and I love all the flowers in every video. Blessings!! 🌹

I grew up eating buckwheat. Its delicious. In Eastern Europe its eaten just like rice in China. We make it with butter as a simple, fast side dish. Use it is soups. We even make buckwheat gulash if money is very tight to afford meat. And then of course, buckwheat flour pancakes and crapes. Buckwheat honey is dark, a bit bittery sweet. And buckwheat fields bloom in the most prettiest flowers. I am glad you are trying it out.

Our daughter is from Russia, so we learned to cook buckwheat porridge (called Kasha in Russia) for a substitute for potatoes or rice. If you cook it in beef broth and add sautéed onions and mushrooms, it is very delicious. I believe it's also high in protein.

I believe Almanzo, from The Long Winter, had a secret store house of Buckwheat. Pa came and bought a bucket full for his family, as there was a food shortage. Favorite book in the series.❤️He made pancakes out of the seed.

When I was the youngest one's age apparently my Mum would hand me a paint brush and give me a bucket of water and I used to paint the cement in the backyard!! Apparently it kept me entertained for hours and I used one of Dad's paint brushes!! She said it was the most easiest and cheapest way to keep me entertained!! LOL!!
