I know everyone has different caloric needs ... but the portions just seem so small. We're not fat in our family - we're more like long skinny string beans, haha. But, (no exaggeration) we eat at least 4 times as much as your family (and there's half as many people in it). Like your breakfast is more of a snack for us. And the dinner would be the lunch. And dinner would be 6 times as much food. We're all very active, to be fair, but it seems like you all are active too. Hopefully you all are having seconds and thirds off camera.
@1000sofroots Жыл бұрын
No worries. No one ever goes hungry and seconds are almost always available. Snacks are always available as well. We can only get small snapshots on camera, so there is a lot more eating going on off camera.👍🙂

It's so nice how down to earth you all are. A simple peaceful kind of life. A life that's closer to nature. I think if someone did it all on their own though, it would be a lot harder. They don't have friends or family to help them out. It would be a lonely existence and harsh, especially nowadays. It's like the world's a cold place to me.

All your children are so polite and well mannered. They are truly a blessing. And Baby is absolutely adorable. I feel the serenity and peace there when I watched your video. Love the garden. But most of all the family environment. May the Lord watch over each of you and hold you in his hands.

Our summer meals are simple as well. Breakfast is usually eggs and turkey bacon. Lunch is usually egg salad sometimes on our hard red wheat bread if I mill flour. We also do lots of salads from the gardens and pickles. We buy sliced baby beets from Costco in bulk because we all like those in salads as well. I grow beets but not enough apparently! Dinners in the summer is usually beans or lentils, salad or lasagna when we have pasta noodles on hand.

praise be to Jesus! god bless you and your beautiful family. it is so wonderful to see a nuclear family supporting themselves and each other this is something we have lost in this world. hats of to you and your little ones living for Jesus is the truth the way and the life. I applaud you as parents for giving your tots the best start in life and I pray they continue on the righteous path as they grow. A truly beautiful sight ✝✝

I never noticed the poor crooked beak roo before. 😅 He still around? I know it’s an older video.
@1000sofroots Жыл бұрын
No, he was an older rooster even two years ago. We were amazed by how well he did even with a crooked beak.

Mushrooms aren’t everyone’s favorites, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen you guys grow them. Have you tried and it wasn’t successful or just not enough of the kids like them? Just curious bc I bet mushrooms would be delicious in the stir fry😊.
@1000sofroots Жыл бұрын
No one in our family really likes mushrooms, but we do try to use them every once and a while. We wanted to grow them one year and bought the kit to start them, but it never arrived (I think they were out of stock). Maybe some day we will try again. 🙂

Are you able to link or say where you purchase your cookware and dishes? Thank you 😌
@1000sofroots Жыл бұрын
Many of our pots and pans were a wedding gift from my grandparents (The Cook's Bazaar). I don't know if they are still available. Most of our dishes are from Amazon. We like quality stainless steel the best. Blessings to you.
