I am a South African, and I have now almost completed my first month on Carnivore. Before I started, I had no disorders, no health issues, and no illnesses of any kind. I am on the Lion diet at first because I wanted to try and do the seemingly "impossible " by also including no smoking cigarettes or weed either. I have been a heavy weed smoker for 23 years and cigarettes for 18 years. I have also been a super coffee enthusiast since the age of 5 years old. I am 38 years of age this year. I wanted to find out if I would be able to quit all my "vices" at once and to see if there would be any change. Today I decided to comment online for the very first time since I started. I am proud and very happy to say that even though there was nothing wrong with me before, I feel even better, stronger and more charged than I have ever been in my whole life. I have not smoked anything for 25 days now and I feel confident that it is now a thing of the past for me. I am staying on Carnivore permanently after my first 30 day Lion challenge as this is the most alive I have ever felt! Carnivore can save lives and improve the lives of even those with no health problems, like myself. I wish I found out about Carnivore sooner!!! It's the way to go!!!!

You’re welcome Kerry. I’m a huge fan of you, Jen, your girls and your channel. This carnivore definition topic has sparked a huge firestorm of conversation, debate, controversy and plain ATTENTION AND ADDITIONAL EXPOSURE AND LIGHT on our way of eating, and I really think you’re on to something really HUGE by continuing this line of conversation..!!! In fact, it’s gotten me all fired up to the point where I just renamed my new channel: “CARNIVORE CULT” dedicated to being 100% inclusive and welcoming to carnivores and PHD folks of all types… strict, semi-strict (like me), not as strict, etc. and NOT putting labels on what is or is not a carnivore or who’s allowed into our “carnivore club” (or “Carnivore Cult”) and who’s not. If we as a community are going to grow the carnivore (and overall PHD) movement, we have got to be MUCH MUCH more inclusive, drop the labels, become more welcoming and broaden the scope of who’s allowed to join us. What I focus on is living like a Proper Human and eating foods that are NATURAL for humans. I feel that fatty (mostly red) meat, eggs, seafood, fish, butter, tallow is the basis of a PHD, but if someone can tolerate another type of NATURAL food (not something man made in a box or bag with a bar code on it), then that’s ok. Achieving optimal physical and mental health with weight loss as a side (but also very important) benefit should be the goal and that’s going to be the main focus of my new channel in the weeks and months to come. I will begin to post my first ever videos soon, so I hope you’ll look out for that. I’ve never done a video before but I do have a rather big personality and have something to say, so we’ll see how it goes right??!! Thanks again Kerry for all you’re doing for the Carnivore and PHD Community. You are without question a hero to me and many others and you’re def saving people’s lives, just like you’ve done for me. I actually disagree with you Kerry. There are some heavily dogmatic members of the community who are torturously criticizing others in this lifestyle space who are not as strict as they think everyone should be. That is why the carnivore community is starting to look a little cult like. We need to be more welcoming, encouraging and accepting of folks who come to this way of eating using different methods or pulling different levers to reach their own optimum health. We are all different. I think it is also important to acknowledge that while some carnivores are successful and content eating 99% animal products, the true definition of an obligate carnivore is one who consumes 70% or more animal products. Some people can tolerate and require some amount of carbohydrate in their diet in order to optimize their sleep cycle. Some folks are carb addicts and have to abstain entirely. I hope that makes sense because it is troubling in some chats and comment sections how critical, accusatory and sometimes just plain mean folks in this community can be toward others just trying to find their way on very individual and personal health journeys.

Kerry… The biggest threat to to our beloved and amazing carnivore community is NOT from people on the outside questioning or bashing our way of eating…. It’s actually FROM THE INSIDE…. It’s our own super strict, label obsessed inflexible and insensitive righteous carnivore brothers and sisters. Why is this? Well, many of us carnivores aren’t perfect and may drink coffee or tea ( and may put some cream, half & half or milk in it)… many of us may use spices, or may occasionally have an avocado or berries… or “worse” yet, may from time to time (not every meal or every day, or every week) have some non-starch veg or a salad…. But if people like this do ANY OF THESE THINGS (LIKE ME… 480 days as a carnivore!!)… We are told that we are NOT really carnivores…. That we are in actuality “keto or ketovore”, and are not “TRUE” carnivores according to Dr Shawn Baker or Dr Berry’s personal or professional definition. Well, the true textbook definition of what an “obligate carnivore” has been defined quite clearly as eating 70%+ animal products. Dr Bart Kay, one of the leading carnivore doctors and experts on the planet talks about this all the time and he routinely points to out the super strict carnivores saying that if you have one Berry, one cup of coffee, etc, that you are no longer a carnivore… is COMPLETE RUBBISH AND BUNK (a direct quote). Since you did this awesome video Kerry, I have been lectured by several of these “strict, inflexible, rule seeking, dogmatic” carnivores that say you are only considered to be a carnivore if you eat 100% animal products ALL THE TIME and eat ZERO CARBS. Well, if that is going be the rules and anyone who strays just one inch from that strict definition of Carnivore is no longer permitted to be a true carnivore, and we all the logically lose our “carnivore cards” and memberships to the “Carnivore Club”…. We have just alienated the vast majority (or at least a HUGE portion) of all the people out there like me who are currently doing carnivore but who occasionally stray by having coffee or tea, who might have some berries a few times per month with our Brie cheese, who might have an avocado once every week or month, etc… We will also lose or alienate MILLIONS of people from potentially joining our amazing carnivore community bc they just don’t think they can be so strict to eat 100% pure carnivore 24/7 either in the early weeks or months, or throughout the diet (again, like me!!) and therefore they never make the decision to start… or they fail and go back to the SAD, vegan or vegetarian diet once again. If anyone out there agrees or disagrees with me or has any comments or other input about this discussion, I would LOVE to hear from you. Finally, Papacarnivore is about 90-95% carnivore and I’m not turning in my “carnivore club” membership card anytime soon. 😊😊🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🐮🥓🐑🐷🍤🐠😎👍

I’m just so tired of carnivores putting labels on, saying you’re not a real carnivore if you have coffee, spices, you at an avocado one in a month, etc. If you eat 70% or more animal products, you are a textbook carnivore and Dr Kay confirms this. I would say I’m 90% carnivore, and there are days and even weeks where I am much more strict or even 100% carnivore but it just depends on how I feel and the situation. Glad to have someone out there who feels the way I do bc I’m getting quite frustrated with the snooty, dogmatic carnivores out there who think they are higher than thou. 😊

I love the carnivore community, and the great supportive folks sharing their stories. It might be a little cultish, but in a good way! My only frustration is that many seem to think that part of being carnivore is that we also share the same religious and political leanings. We are actually a very wonderful and diverse group!

I just watched a video by Lillie Kane that she said it was a cult!! Now, all these Vegan people are posting videos of her video and laughing at Carnivores for being a cult. It’s so disheartening, to say the least, as I really liked her videos, but things are getting out of hand now with her. I will continue to do what I need to do to be healthy and leave it at that. We are all on our own journey’s and no need to call out a certain diet, but to give guidance and knowledge of truths and experiences of those that have had success on their own journey’s would suffice. However, I do agree with you regarding the standard American diet and trying to spread knowledge and not hate. Yes, it’s all about the results, not being a cult! Thank you for all you do! ❤

She had no reason to make that judgment, she added pack carbs and said she felt bad and bloated, if anyone would watch the whole thing. She is not talking about packaged, processed food. The vegoons are always grasping for straws. She believes in high animal protein. If you eat 70% of your diet as animals, you are carnivores. Vegans are the cult!

I AM A PROUD FOLLOWER OF THE CARNIVORE DIET SINCE FEBRUARY 15th, 2022. I HAVE NEVER NOR WILL I EVER PREACH TO ANYONE HOW TO EAT. I FIND IT QUITE ODD THAT IF CARNIVORE IS A “CULT” THAT ANY OF THE PRESUMED LEADERS(i.e VARIOUS DOCTORS ON-LINE) NEVER FORCE ANYONE TO EAT THIS WAY. ALSO I HAVE NEVER WITNESSED A CARNIVORE HARASSING OTHER SHOPPERS AT GROCERY STORES OR DINERS AT A EATERIES AS THE MILITANT VEGANS HAVE BEEN RECORDED DOING🤔🤷♂️

I think people get angry when you make different decisions than they did because deep down, they are defensive and feel guilty. Like when I decided to homeschool my kids, I think my parents and grandparents were angry because they felt like I was judging how they raised me. No, I am just trying to do what my gut tells me is best for my family. For some reason, I just couldn't stomach sending my kids off to school for someone else to educate. I got to be the one to discover the world with them and take them on field trips. ❤

Thanks so much Vanessa! I can’t even explain how great I feel and how bad I felt both physically and mentally before I started keto and then now carnivore. The hardest decision like Kerry says is to actually start carnivore and stop eating a SAD, vegan or vegetarian diet. The sad thing is that millions or even billions of people will never know what it feels like to be a Proper Human bc they either will never know about carnivore (or keto, Ketovore) or they will never decide to make the change. 😊

The funny thing about the carnivore diet (even if you're not on it) is that you become a lot more aware of the things you eat. So that when your body suddenly feels off for some reason the response isn't "Oh I'm just getting older" instead it's "What did I eat recently?" and you'll be able to figure out pretty quickly that you ate something out of your ordinary habits and pin the blame on that instead.

I think we are eating a Proper Human Diet and I’m not so fussy about labels. I started as keto, then went ketovore and am now 90-95% carnivore but I still consider myself carnivore. But I really don’t care what anyone else calls me. I do occasionally have berries, spices on my meat (mainly salt, pepper and garlic powder), avocado and sometimes I will have a small amt of non starchy veg with my meat. Many would consider me ketovore but again I don’t care what anyone else calls me. I am a carnivore, meat, seafood, eggs, beef tallow, heavy cream, gf butter and mct oil in my coffee with some cinnamon and vanilla… I feel great and I DETEST people putting labels and being snooty about what someone is or isn’t. Please give it a rest. Thanks 😊
@Homesteadhow4 ай бұрын
I’m happy you are seeing so much success. I don’t put labels on anyone. I live under the thought that I am FAR FAR FAR from being a perfect human being and so I have no place to judge other people, I’d rather focus on myself. My only hesitation with defining “carnivore” is that MANY new people do this diet not for weight loss but for a strict elimination diet to try to overcome serious issues. For some of those folks eating cinnamon or vanilla or other spices could hurt them if they have certain autoimmune disorders. So “when asked” I define carnivore more like an elimination diet (when talking to newbies) honestly I don’t even label myself as carnivore anymore. Carnivore is not the same as a proper human diet. If I ate a juicy steak at a restaurant that’s carnivore but if it was cooked in seed oils that’s not really a proper human diet. For me I’m aiming to focus on foods that are natural to humans. But I can only speak for myself and what works for me. Everyone is different and has their own story. Appreciate your comments Papa!

Many carnivores live this lifestyle for a few simple reasons: 1) To heal health, emotional, and psychological issues and to live their best lives. 2) Simplicity. I used to spend hours every week in the grocery store, trying to figure out what I wanted to eat. Now, if I go shopping, I'm in and out of the store in 10-15 minutes. We're not blindly following some charismatic leader, hanging on to every word they say. Sure, we'll take advice from people we see as more knowledgeable than we are, but that advice doesn't work for us, we're free to try something else. Some people are more strict about what they eat than I am, some less. Who gives a crap? As long as they thrive on their own personal diet, that's all that matters.

It's all about the Randle Cycle. High carb low fat and low carb high fat both work. The problem is mixing high carb and high fat. This confuses the metabolism and reduces energy uptake in the body. Personally, I feel better with high carb low fat and ensuring I get enough protein. Obviously, removing toxic foods is the key.
@w1975b4 ай бұрын
If you're eating low fat, I'd question if you're getting enough fat and fat soluble vitamins. Also, damage occurs from high carbohydrate consumption other than activating the Randle cycle when combined with high fat. Glycation and mitochondrial dysfunction.

Please, Allow me to ask a couple of question about the Carnivore diet: (Sorry if i already posted before but i dont know what to do) I am now over 180 days into a Strick Carnivore diet (I only eat meat and eggs. Nothing else but 500-600g of COCKED meat plus 7-8 eggs in a day. All Divided in 2 meals) I am now 35 years old, 181cms tall, 180lbs(+-81,5kg) at +-22%BF. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week.(lift weigths to help sustain or increase muscle mass and assist fat loss- HIT Workouts) I started the Carnivore diet to improve my body composition. I was a HEALHTY guy with NO chronic illnesses or health problems. I lost about 17 lbs(8kg) in the first 9 weeks (Mostly water) but since then I haven't been able to change my body composition. I have now gone more than 8 weeks without registering any body changes (weight loss, decrease in BF% or measurements like waist, legs, arms and neck ).In fact i have gained 2,5 lbs(1KG between weeks 10-12, but it might be just water. I still need to lose at least another 15lbs of fat to reach my goal of being below 15%BF. However, I don't see how the Carnivora Diet will facilitate this process. I have not experienced most of the benefits common to Carnivores (Improved sleep, more energy/disposition, etc.) nor have I changed my body composition significantly I am now over 12 weeks with no body fat lost. So I would like to ask a few question about the Carnivore diet: 1- How long should I extend my experience with the Carnivore diet to be able to lose the excess bodyfat I still have?(at least 15lbs of fat) 2- What is the minimum time you should maintain a Carnivora diet when it is not working for you?(how many weeks or months) 3-Is the Carnivore diet effective for those who are aldreay healthy and just need to improve body composition? I am affraid this way of eating is too restrictive, for a healthy person, with no aditional benefit from any other whole food diet. PS: Most of my time as a Carnivore i have not experience most Carnivore benefits or lost any body fat. Also, Sorry for any grammar mistake, i am Brazilian and english is not my first language. Thank you for your attention!.

That’s interesting. Blueberries are 100% natural and are def part of any Proper Human Diet… Keto, Ketovore, Carnivore, Low Carb. I am 90-95% carnivore but consider myself a carnivore plain and simple no matter what the “purist” strict, rigid, inflexible carnivores say. I don’t listen to them or care about them. I love blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries and sometimes have them from time to time either by themselves as a snack or with Brie (or other type of) cheese. I’m so tired of many carnivores out there preaching that you can only be a true carnivore is you eat 100% meat, eggs and butter/tallow and nothing else and criticizing everyday regular carnivores like me and tens of thousands (or more) carnivores just like me…😊😊

That’s great no judgment from me.. I’m glad you found what’s working for you. My only hesitation around blueberries and some of those things are if you can get them natural that’s great, but so many things are riddled with pesticides nowadays, and those things really upset my stomach and bother me. also for me personally if I ate blueberries or strawberries, it would spike my sugar addiction, and I need more and more my cravings would be gone nuts .. but that’s just me. We’re all different ! I just do fine without them so each person is totally different, but I totally agree with you. The vast majority of my patients are in poor health and complaining about "getting older" and all their health conditions. They seem desperate...until I tell them how they can turn things around. Some are curious, but most say, "I could never do that". Totally blows my mind. Pizza, bagels, salads, etc. are more important to them than their health. THAT, my friend, is a cult. Point taken Dave. However I still consider myself a carnivore bc most days I do 100% carnivore, but there are some meals or times that I will add avocado, spices, or a small amt of non starchy veg. I also will occasionally have some berries, maybe once or twice a month. If that kicks me out of the carnivore club or cult in some peoples’ minds or they consider my WOE as keto or ketovore… so be it. I am a carnivore plain and simple no matter what you or any other carnivores think. I’m not trying to be mean here Dave, I just respectfully disagree (as would tons of my fellow carnivores and Dr Bart Kay). Purists like you and Dr Shawn Baker and possibly also Dr Berry will disagree but that’s ok. I feel we need to open up our arms to carnivores like me who follow the diet most of the time but will from time to time occasionally add in other things that our bodies can tolerate without negatively affecting our physical or mental health. Just my 2 cents. One last thing. You might want to watch the channel called “imperfect car ivory uk”. The sociology of a cult is a group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols, mainly religious. Our way of life is not bound by symbols or veneration of a charismatic person. It is not false, unorthodox or extremist but based on Science, on human biology. It works, it is real and it heals…might seem miraculous but it’s simply how human biology works.
