Here I will explain how to best play in 3D space combat in Homeworld Remastered. You will learn how to move ships in all three axis, tips on resource collection, which ship classes counter which enemy ships, how and when to target ship subsystems as well as how to capture enemy ships using salvage corvettes and marine frigates in both single and multiplayer game modes.

The Homeworld Remastered Collection includes: Homeworld 1 and 2 Remastered Edition, Remastered Multiplayer and Homeworld 1 and 2 Classic.
Homeworld is not an easy game to play, and the remastered version didn’t change that. So let me help you learn to play it well by first starting with 3D movement.
As I already mentioned resource harvesters, that is our second subject. There is only a single resource in Homeworld but it comes raw in several shapes and sizes. These offer several active slots for harvesters and are dotted around the playable space in small bunches. But you don’t gain resources for new ship production or research when harvesting is done, but only once those raw resources are refined. This can happen in the mothership’s resource module or inside carriers and special mobile refineries.
Two additional very important gameplay pillars of Homeworld. The ship's combat balance and the system of capturing enemy ships. Those would be the famous salvage corvettes.
Almost all ships in Homeworld games belong to a class. And each class of ships has certain advantages and disadvantages as well as combat bonuses against some classes while it is vulnerable to others. This is the core gameplay of Homeworld, learning the intricate balance of ship against ship combat, made even more complicated by all the upgrades from research trees as well as the use of different stances, tactics and formations.

I am such a fan of the Homeworld Series. The first one I played was actually Cataclysm AKA Resurgence. Even though I like H1 and H2... I love the game balance and narrative of Cataclysm and Deserts of Kharak. I'm currently playing Xenonaughts 2.

@@perafilozof There are probably a lot of xenonaught players who have played more hours of it. And I'll be honest I haven't played lots of this one yet. It's basically a very polished version of the original in every aspect. But so far there is nothing that is intrinsically new. There would have been criticism if they had turned it into an x-com: enemy unknown clone. But a few new aspects or game mechanics would have been nice and fresh.

Hey, i tried playing in multiplayer but it's very laggy when i find enemies, any idea what can cause these lag ?

Could be that you are playing vs people half the world away. There is one dude from UK that when I play him, and I am from Europe, we never manage to finish a game without a lost connection.
