I was inspired by so much of what you've done but especially by the red sofa with the many colored cushions and by the red chairs, one of which is falling apart. I have such a chair that I suspect is covered in Fortuny fabric. The fabric is literally unraveling before my eyes, revealing the cotton beneath, but it sits proudly nevertheless in my lady's chamber. Your style is honest and reassuring. Thank you for sharing your home.

@gnarbeljo89807 ай бұрын
I agree. I've lived so long in Europe I often cringe seeing American interiors no matter what end they are. My mother's Swedish so there's that too. I adore Italy and have spent so much time there, it's interesting to see how to bring a bit of it into northern European interiors which are so different with a whole different climate and way of life. The Brits are always interesting in their love of filling cottages with loads of objects, furniture, fabric, prints etc. It's the English way. Alot of the time in the more high end or designer owned properties, I have to assume they have professional cleaners who can be trusted with navigating vaccum cleaners (hoovers) and dusters in tight spaces with lots of sensitive andtiques. Bc it seems to me incredibly labour intense to keep the dusta at bay with a zillion surfaces to collect on. I do think they're great, likely the very best, at designing spaces that are and look very comfortable, mixing antique with new, precious with thrifty and reflect the interests of the owners. It's extremely rare that I see American homed and think, yes, I'd feel comfy and surrounded by things to spark my interest if I stayed there. They feel construed, unnatural to me, anxiously concerned with middle class values, (apoearences before content) and often just ugly. The exceptions are homes of artists and intellectuals I've seen, who aren't too concerned with "decor" and people who've built their own cabins from scratch, which can be fantastic.

Of all the homes I've seen on KZbin (including those worth many millions) this is by far the most beautiful as it's a true reflection of the owner's personality; you can see that around every corner. I too have used the combo of sage/olive green, burgundy/pink and cream as the colour palette for my homes for 40+ years and have never tired of it: it means I can move curtains, cushions, chairs, tablecloths, pouffes, artwork etc from room to room if I want to change things around - voila! Cozy, warm and comfy, eclectic and personal.💛Calm maximalist layering without suffocating. I love Italian and chinoiserie, especially older pieces with a story. 🇮🇹 Very refreshing change from all of the “perfect” American homes decorated by “content creators”.

I love the colouring in your home. I also worked in a florist moyses Stevens in Berkley square. Which I'm afraid isn't there anymore. Like you I love colour. It's my world. And I love your speaking voice. Bless you.
