@@PrevMedHealth It looks like the reply here is now gone. I was wondering as well: what are the 'reduced' B vitamins? The only results I found after searching online for reduced b vitamins were studies that didn't go into explaining which are the Reduced B vitamins. Thanks... I'm a poor methylater as well. My SNP results were about as bad as it can get when it comes to methylation..!

My neurologist after seeing him for a few years decided recently to have my homocysteine levels checked and it was high. He recommended that I take folic acid. My levels began reducing and is now normal. I am taking B complex vitamins and 4.5 milligrams of folic acid.

Exactly, right..that's how I manage my MTHFR-C677T heterozygous polymorphism. I am totally asymptomatic. I also take TMG supplements along with methylated B complex vitamins and consume green leafy vegetables like kale and arugula.. I also have a whole avocado a day😊...stay away from Folic acid.

This trials that reduced hcys without outcome had on average hcys below 15mcg which is still in the normal range. Furthermore it was done in patient populations with smokers, hypertension, diabetes, known cvd issues.. all with elevated risk for clotting. They were also on anticoagulants and most of them on statins which also has anticoagulant properties. I found 5 of those studies and they all had such problematic setup. None of them controlled for genetic predisposition either.

Did my Homocysteine a few days back and result was elevated 10.6 Wish I knew what it was before I started the Keto diet 6 months ago to see if that had any impact on it. However I will do it again in three months to see if any movement. One of my supplements is K2 mk7 (not just for calcium, but K2 kills chemo resistant prostate cancer cells - not that I have this), but apparently that could impact calcification along with controlled Blood sugars. I have Alpha LA, NACystein, B complex in the fridge - so maybe start using them. And add more of the green veges. To see if I can make any noticeable impact on the levels.

Great video, so which comes first, the chicken or the egg? Does inflammation increase homocysteine, or homocysteine increase Inflammation, or both? Was recently looking at studies with aspirin and saw an NIH study that said it down regulates both inflammation and homocysteine. Is there a dot to connect here? Hope to hear more about this. Thank you Dr. Brewer!

Also bad bck and a constant nerve problems. But this tmg seems to help if take it when i eat i also have suspected ibd. So im concerned but no dr or any emergency room seems to care. In fact my local er had me labeled as over dramatic even tho my albumin level was really high and blood pressure was high and they could feel the huge lump in my neck said something about vagus nerve inflamation. Hi Dr. Brewer. I have blockage and calcium in carotid artery and coronary artery. I also have mthfr (c677T one copy) and osteopenia. 3 different medical professionals have told me not to take vitamin K2 as mthfr is a clotting disorder. None the less I'm eating 1 Tablespoon of Natto daily. Please advise on how to clear my arteries. I am 67 years old and want to live a long life without any cardiovascular events! P.S. I am taking methylfolate and B12, coq10, d2, magnesium, fish oil and am on a statin and low dose aspirin (every other day on both).

Hi Dr Brewer, could use a little direction. My husband was just tested for the MTHFR and is positive for both variants. We are on a plant-based diet so he was taking 2000 mcg of methelcobalamin B12 per day. Recent testing shows 1105 for the B12 and 23 for folate. I want to start him on the thorn methelated vitamins you recommended. But should we wait until the levels go down will that be too much or is it better to get him on the methylated vitamins ASAP? I'm so glad I follow your videos because now I know why my husband has increased inflammation. He has severe CAD and diabetes.. Thank you so much for all your videos!

This is more complicated with homocisteine. There is link with non functional genes mtfh and mtrr and osteoporosis + neural tube defects which is affecting calcium deposition in inflamed vessels. These 3 are connected homocisteine ,calcium score and bone density.Active b9,active b12 + beetroot whith meat and high k2 with c and s k dependant proteins can help.

When we test for homocysteine could this really be indirect testing for glutathione deficiency? The real reason for elevated homcysteine could be the same conditions that lead to glutathione deficiency.

@John Lorscheider GLUTATHIONE Test Code 90379X CPT Code(s) 82978 Preferred Specimen(s) 10 mL (1 mL minimum) Whole blood collected in an ACD (yellow-top) tube Transport temperature: Refrigerated Transport Container: ACD (yellow-top) tube Minimum Volume 1 mL Specimen Stability Room temperature: Unacceptable Refrigerated (cold packs): 21 days Frozen: Unacceptable Methodology Kinetic Performing Laboratory Cambridge Biomedical Setup Days Set up: Varies; Report available: 3 days Report Available 3 days Reference Range(s) 544-1228 uM Clinical Significance Glutathione is a tripeptide formed by a peptide linkage between the amine group of cysteine linked to glycine and the carboxyl group of the glutamate side-chain. It is an abundant cellular reducing agent, whose major biological function is mitigating oxidative damage to biological macromolecules. Glutathione is also important in the metabolism and excretion of xenobiotic compounds. Glutathione is consumed to maintain cells in a reduced condition. Consequently, glutathione levels in patient samples are expected to be diminished in disease states where oxygen reactive species are involved, such as rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis. Low glutathione levels have been linked to reduced dopamine production in neurons, which suggests a relationship to dopamine based neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease. High levels of glutathione have been linked to chemotherapy resistance in cancer treatments.

@John Lorscheider thirdly.... clearly nobody knows anything about fluoroquinolone antibiotics or there wouldn't have been 800 million dollars in lawsuits in 2016.... for Levaquin alone ... I'm not saying you don't... Most have no... clue.... Just a bunch of perfect-life problem-belittler's that have never had anything bad happen to them in their entire life.... Those are the people I run into all the time.... This isn't reality.... You want to know what I think's happening.... I think maybe those mitochondria in our cells came from bacteria after all.... Since fluoroquinolone Target's the DNA of bacteria... It may be targeting the mitochondria .... Maybe they have a similar signature... I don't know... But clearly neither does anybody else.... I don't know if a single person that's been healed of this... This is going to take like $50,000 worth of stem-cell IVs.... It's that much damage.... Mostly what fluoroquinolones are doing to people besides the neurological damage that they do... They cause destruction of collagen throughout your entire body.... Your eyes(retinal detachment)... Your heart(aortic aneurysm)... Your tendons(tendon rupture tendinitis tendinopathies).... Half-life's don't matter.... Many people have become disabled after taking three pills.... Many of these symptoms began to manifest only months afterward... This isn't about half life's .... It's more like being run over by a car.... The damage caused by being run over by a car doesn't decay over time.... It might decay some... but this is not a decay function.

@@PrevMedHealth not your fault . I just want to fix it .... So just running tons of labs ... What can I improve ... Then do all those things.... It's too bad I didn't know all of this when I was healthy . Trying Testosterone replacement therapy but honestly , the FDA needs to issue a recovery protocol at this point and advise to use things like anavar and deca ... Uphill battle given the stigma against anabolics .... But just like medical marijuana.... There are legitimate and VERY important uses for both . . In both cases people are depressed and totally out of options.... You gotta let them try ... Keep trying something.... Or they give up .
