Story 1: The MIL should have been charged with attempted premeditated murder and arson, and should receive the maximum sentence allowable under law and be forced to compensate all monetary damages. This sociopath should never be allowed out of prison for any reason and under any circumstances. Story 2: is NC territory.

I don't think the OP in this story comes from the US. This sociopath would only get between 10-15 years depending upon the country. I know that in my country, this woman would get 10 years since it was her first offence... and she didn't kill anybody.

Pretty sure a full grown adult being shamed by a 5 year old is a ego burn like no other. When children can behave better than the adult, the adult is the problem.

It's not OP and his husband's fault for losing their house. The police couldn't help them and I doubt they had enough evidence to file a restraining order. Besides moving (which is easier said than done) what else could they have done???

Moving takes time and if they had moved she would have just stalked them. Or burnt down the house where the new people had moved in. .

Story 1: Jeezel Pete! What a fricking psychopath?! What kind of mother kills her child (or at least tries too) over his sexuality?!

My single mother was renting this dump of a place when I was in second grade and it caught fire. I was at the end of a long hallway and the room next to mine caught fire due to a bad heating unit. We knew it was a problem but her landlord wouldn’t fix it. She either couldn’t or wouldn’t move out. I remember the heat vents in the floor burnt our feet and the floor was turning brown around them from excess heat. It was basically burning the floor around it. My mom should have got us out of there for our own safety but she didn’t. One night I was in the deepest sleep ever and was awoken by my mom yanking me up by an arm and my hair-it really hurt but she was absolutely frantic. She threw me over her shoulder and ran down the hallway and I was hanging upside down but the walls were on fire around us. It was lit by the fire, I definitely remember the orange light around us. So there is SOME light, even with the smoke. The smoke is what prevents clear sight though. It burns your eyes and makes them water. Like a campfire does. Anyway the dump went up fast in flames and we lost everything, including our poor little white cat who ran and hid because my mom was screaming her head off. It scared her and she hid. We couldn’t get to her before the flames cut off our last exit do we had to leave. I remember sitting across the street on the curb watching the refrigerator melt and drip down like melting chocolate through a burnt hole in the kitchen wall. I sat there crying over my poor dead kitty with the soft fluffy white hair being burnt up in the fire. I had nothing left but the pajamas on my back. My mother’s family heard but no one came to help us. I was so young but that was when I knew we weren’t loved. They didn’t even care if we were out on the street with only the clothes on our backs and nothing else.

I'm so so very sorry you had to go through that. Genuinely, it sounds like a horrific and heartbreaking experience all at the same time. I don't know what your relationship is like with your Mother, but could it have been that the reason you could not leave was that decrepit place was all she could afford? I hope you've found people in your life who love you and care for you. I don't know your Mom, but if I was in her shoes, the guilt and hopelessness would have eaten me alive. I do mean it, albeit coming from some random individual from a KZbin comment thread, when I say I hope you've found some stability in your life.

@@longwaydown6959 thank you, I appreciate the support. As for my mom we have a very strained distant relationship. She saved my life that night but honestly we never had to be in that position anyway if not for her “very” bad life choices. My mom was drop dead gorgeous and any decent man would have given anything to have her. Instead she had a penchant for hot stupid junky bums who treated her like garbage and used/left her just as quick. She never learned. So half of her time was spent hustling rich guys for money which she would give to her stupid loser boyfriends for their attorney fees/court costs more often than not because they were constantly in trouble and usually extremely abusive to her. Including my loser trash bio dad who ran off to another state the minute he heard the work “pregnant” and he worked under the table for cash so he never had to pay child support for the next five years. My only memory of him was after that when I walked in just in time to see him smack her and send her reeling to the floor. Why? She caught him in bed with her friend. I just remember running at him as soon as I walked in the door from the school bus and saw that happening. I ran at him and pounded my fists on his stomach because that was as far up as I could reach. He shoved me off and left and never came back. This was her whole life from then on, scum who beat her was who she loved and decent men who adored her bored her to tears. She’d cheat on them and eventually leave them. I once saw her slash her own car tires with a box cutter and then she called the police and reported her ex for it who left her for cheating on him and she claimed her was abusing her. He wasn’t. But the mice ate it up because she was crazy hot and they babied her and tried to soothe her fake tears. After they left she called a new guy with money that she had on the line waiting and cried crocodile tears to him about how her abusive ex was stalking her and she was scared. And how would she ever take care of her child now with no car? He, of course, rode in like a white knight to save her and but her new tires. I asked her why she did that and she said “I wanted to get even with my ex for leaving me, and I needed new tires. This way I killed two birds with one stone.” She smirked and walked away. She also beat me up as a child bad enough that other students saw the belt mark bruises up and down me in gym class and reported her for it. She had me so scared of children’s services that I lied and said I fell down the stairs when questioned by the principal. Her last man was a two time ex con who had attempted to run his ex wife over with a car while drunk for leaving him due to abuse. He was routinely beating my mom and shoving me around. I was 16 by then. At one point I punched him in the face because I had just had enough and then he of course retaliated. I called the police while she cried and begged me not to get him in trouble. I did it anyway. She lied to cover for him and he got off. That was when I ran away and lived with friends for the remainder of high school. So basically I have a crap relationship with my mother. Sorry for the book but I don’t know how else to explain it.

10:19 he's right about that, my father's house burnt down to the ground, it was a bright sunny day, then it got suddenly dark, super dark. A firefighter had to use a flashlight to check in the house for my Dad's 2 beloved dogs. My father's sadly died by the smoke.

Its crazy how some people think that just because someone has a sexuality that isnt straight means that they are instantly a bad person and deserve to go to hell, despite being a good firefighter 👨‍🚒 and is saving people's lives or if they are police stopping innocent people be safe and happy. Its like all good deeds go out the window because of sexuality!

1st story: Honestly, they took it seriously enough. Most parents, once they see they are not backpedaling, usually is no contact, disown, call names and that's it, each their own merry way, they usually don't craft a plan to murder them both by making their home catch fire in the middle of the night.

@TiffWaffles
@TiffWaffles 8 ай бұрын
The first OP isn't in the States, I don't think? In my country, some killers only get like two to five years with others getting a maximum life sentence- which is twenty five years. The only way somebody stays in prison for longer than a maximum life sentence is if they are deemed a dangerous offender and then the sentence becomes 'an indefinite prison sentence'. Not surprising to see other countries do the same thing in terms of prison sentences as mine.

Watch "The Price of Honor" someday. People who straight up try and/or succeed at killing their own children for marrying someone that apparently brings shame to the family in some way (poor, bad family, etc.) and get absolutely no consequences. At most a day or 2 in the jail and are released.

Story 2, wtf op's fiance mean stop his mother??? Sir that's your mom why aren't you stopping her?!? You know her better then op do, talking about being mad at op, be mad at your mother instead of blaming op, I'm glad he apologized but still he refused to tell his own mom no even after he apologize to op, but also I'm glad he finally accepted after reading op's post and chilled out Seriously i hope he finds peace after this, that and I'm disgusted with people in op's fiancé's life behaving like what his mom did was normal knowing damn well it wasn't, especially when his dad was there like mofo your wife, sister whatever showed up in a wedding dress to your nephew/grandson's wedding dafuq wrong with you??, it's bad enough you allowed that sht when he was a kid but now?!? HeII no.

OP's fiance was the victim of a mother's narcissistic abuse... and he did try to stop her when he said no to her for the white dress. OP was the one who said that she was allowed to wear white since she didn't understand the significance somebody else wearing white in a western wedding. However, he did get back at her. He and OP taught his mother a lesson. Can you imagine being a child and having to give your mother a present just for birthing you before you had a chance to open your own presents? Did she steal his birthday presents? She probably found a way to destroy every single one of his birthdays somehow. As a victim of narcissistic abuse, my abuser destroyed every birthday, every Christmas, every holiday, every family gathering, every celebration that didn't have them at the centre of attention. It's the point that I refuse to celebrate my birthday and I refuse to even acknowledge Christmas.

@TiffWaffles that's why I said I'm glad he understood it wasn't op's fault at, especially after reading the post and honestly i really do hope he heals from his past, but I'm still pissed off at the thought that adults allowed his mom to do that to a child, and the same goes for your family/whoever did that to you how dare they do that to you too, they are adults they should no better then to that to a child and even whoever did that to you was a child too adults should have stepped in, there's no excuse for having that done to you, and honestly I wish you the best too fam, and I hope you find a person/people who has your back and can be your rock you can turn when you need support👍
