@@pastorbri You are once again implying that Christians are homophobic and that is not true. Just because Christianity calls homosexual behaviors sinful, does not make Christianity homophobic. Phobic comes from the word phobia which means fear of - to be afraid of. Calling something sinful does not equal being afraid of something. I get what you're saying and believe me, I have tried to tell them nicely but that didn't work either and some will get violent, I know Jesus said to turn the other cheek, but even he took a switch to those in the temple which tells me he has a limit. They would rather go to hell and not have everlasting life if they have to give up their vile, unnatural lust for the same sex which they have declared love they are high-minded and hateful of the truth of God, some have changed but not many and this corrupt and imperfect society supports those who refuse to change. I haven't been hit or kicked but I'm not so sure of how I react if that happens, remember Peter cut a guy's ear off, Jesus put it back, but you get my point, ( WWJD) I'm not him, I strive to be like him but I'm human and not perfect, in fact, I'm not that "good" a believer I do get weak, I know that's no excuse but I do ask for forgiveness when I'm wrong which I find myself doing quite a bit in these trying times...😊😊😊

Research shows that refraining from masturbation or intercourse of any kind for 3 months significantly lowers the dopamine levels in the brain that have risen to abnormal levels due to porn addiction. It really is a chemical addiction, very much like drugs. If you lower the dopamine levels you'll have a fighting chance. It's a lot like dieting. Addiction makes it hard to say no, but you'll find the more that you say no and refrain from doing it, the easier it'll get and your body will stop chemically "screaming" at you for more. @@Hamann9631- Nonsense, no place in the bible did God establish marriage; it was older than the bible eras. And through most biblical eras, a man could have as many wives as he could afford and as many concubines (sex slaves) as his sword could capture. The bible god praised King Solomon and his 700 wives and 300 concubines. Love had nothing to do with marriage; a woman was a man's property given by her father to the groom for a dowry - camels, etc. There were no laws prohibiting a man from beating and raping his wives, kids and slaves. Jesus did not bother getting married, so it was not very important to him. He taught that God hates divorce, and that anyone who remarries is living in sin against his first spouse. Totally ignored today. Evangelicals have higher divorce rates than society at large (Baylor Christian U researchers posted this). Heterosexuals are opting out of marriage at record levels and those who do wed are doing so later and later in life. 99% of heterosexuals have sex before marriage (fornication). And up until a generation ago, it was a sin as well as a crime to wed someone of another race. Marriage changes all the time, so do sins. Have you stoned any brides to death on their wedding night (Deut 22)? Or executed any adulterers? (Lev 20, the same chapter used to condemn men who have sex with men)?

Hi Mike, thank you for these series. A few weeks ago a woman in church sat next to me to talk a bit. We talked about worldly things like new age and the whole genderneutrality being taught at schools. But when I added homosexuality to that list, she was disgusted. She stated being allergic to people like me thinking that God doesn't approve of homosexual behaviour, and that it is people like me that drive others away from the church by saying these things. She said I am judging people by doing so, and that I should be more concerned about bringing people to Jesus. I believe it's our job to proclaim the gospel with love and truth, not to convert people. And I told her that, and she disagreed. To her there is no evidence in the Bible that homosexual behaviour isn't approved by God, having read the Bible cover to cover several times over. But it was ok to disagree, to her I have my truth and she has hers (I know, that is new age..truth doesn't contradict itself; either I am wrong, or she is). I tried not to cry on my way back home. I have never experienced anyone so agressive to defend a view. I think she is being deceived and deceiving her homosexual friends; she has many, she said. Seeing these series, I now know that everything she threw at me comes from Matthew Vines. Everything you addressed in this first video, she said to me. Thank you for sharing truth, and helping us helping others. I hope one day she will let go of Vines' ideas.

@@Grokford However, in the very same scripture you quoted (without context, may I add), the author also says that "faithfulness" and "self-control" are fruits of the Spirit. And, if I'm not mistaken, in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 it says, and I quote, "Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the s*xually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have s*x with men, nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." In this passage, Paul is writing to the Galatians about how lawsuits against men won't help anything (essentially), and goes on to say how we have all sinned against God, and yet we were forgiven rather than made to pay our debt. Most of these sins he states are a result of a lack self control, specifically of our own prideful nature. So why do you pick and choose what you like out of Scripture? Thank you for this series! I am a follower of Jesus Christ, who desires to be equipped to lead those who want to get out of this lifestyle to know how, with God's help. I want to be ready to give an answer to seekers. Christ gave me hope, when I struggled with same sex attractions that I didn't want. I had not acted out, but had those attractions. I sought biblical counseling & learned the root causes of those desires. I was searching for the wrong "kind" of love, when I needed to come to the point of asking Jesus to set me free, and give me Godly friendships. He did!

For a gay person this feels like an empty phrase used in order to explain why one does not have to be loving at all. It is fake love because usually someone who says that will use the argument in order to avoid gay people instead of being a good friend for them. Love has to be proofed by actions and not by nice sounding words. There was no hint of any kind in Mike's discourse on how to lovingly approach gay people. He first explained what his opinion was and then tried to prove it from the Bible. He did not even ask the question what the texts in the Bible might have meant in their cultural context. Just take Leviticus 20,13. What if a man raped another man. Would both have been put to death? If not, how would you explain that from the scripture? Were is the morality behind this law? Why does it refer to men only and not to women? There is no mention of lesbian sex anywhere in the Old Testament. This should have been part of the scriptural examination before making a judgment. One who loves unconditionally will be there for people no matter what they have done, just like Jesus who visited the poor, the sick and the prostitutes and sinners of his time. I hope you are such a person. God bless you, Thomas
@SOULSafeProductionZ3 жыл бұрын
@@Thomas_Zscheile you have a lot to say, but you know what? This still doesn't negate the fact that, again, I can love you without approving of your lifestyle and if some wants to insist that just because I don't approve of their homosexuality, just like I wouldn't approve of a drug addict's drug use, that I don't love them, that, in fact, I hate them, then you and any other person is dead wrong and you and any other person just sounds like a complaining negative, pessimistic person who wants to whine and talk about "woe is me..." That fact of the matter is, we all have done wrong things in our lives... Actually, some of us have made the wrong things, whatever they may be, a lifestyle. Those wrong lifestyle choices are not who we are. Otherwise, some should magically turn into drugs, predatory animals, objects, etc. But again, we are NOT the bad decisions we make. If we were, we would not be eligible for redemption and yet, according to God's Word, we ALL are eligible, IF we repent of our sins and give up our "righteousness" for Christ's.... RIGHTEOUSNESS. Homosexuality, like adultery, like idolatry, like murder, like thievery, like covetousness, like lying... IS A SIN against God. Anyone who doesn't repent of their sin and surrender to Christ will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. It's just that simple... People ask why some Christians pick on homosexuality. Well, 1. We're not picking on anything. Let's get that straight... People act like what they want to do or what their loved ones want to do is ok because they don't want to hurt that person's feelings... So, when you act like something that's wrong, is NOT wrong, then those of us who try to know and do right, point out the wrong that's being done, AS IF IT'S OK. If a person killed another person, for NO REASON, and that person acted as if nothing was wrong, people would be all up in arms about this... Seems to me that it's not Christians who pick and choose, but those who dislike Christians who do...

@@SOULSafeProductionZ I don't want to question your personal love for me or others. Just from my own experiences I told you that the statement you quoted feels to be empty words unless they are proven by loving actions. I experienced people braking up any contact with me after my coming out. I don't feel this to be the way of love. Anyone of these people who claim to love me I have to say that I do not feel loved by them. That was in my mind and maybe my story helps you understand my point of view. One important question for me has always been: If one cannot choose his/her sexuality then how can it be a sin that prevents God from letting me into his kingdom? I believe being gay is not a lifestyle the same as being straight is not. It describes a persons sexual attraction, not their actions. Taking drugs is a decision one makes. Being gay is not. I always felt this way as far as I can think back. If you think differently, then I want to ask you, how and when did you choose to be straight? Well, one may easily quote a text from the Bible, but this has implications on a person's life. And since some of these might feel like unburiable burdens, the question is, whether this is what God intended with such verses or not. Therefore one has to consider such texts in their historical context and honestly ask whether the text means what they seem to say or if there was some other intention behind it. For example I would never take a story of a rape as proof for a prohibition against sex between a man and a woman. But this is what is done with the Genesis report about Sodom as regards homosexuality. Thomas

I am gay, but a Christian, and I do not condone this lifestyle. I am aware of it being a sin, but it's been hard to overcome. I started dating a guy back when I was an atheist, and now we have been together nearly a decade. I can't envision my life without him. He is a Christian as well, and we pray about this issue. You think it'd be simple, we love each other and in reality following Christ and turning away from this sin would be the right thing to do, but when you have lived with someone for so long and get along with them really well, it's exceptionally hard to find the strength to abandon that life. What makes it more difficult, is me becoming a Christian was due to his family's influence on my life. I do not advocate for the lgbt, but I pray for them. And I pray for any young man or woman going through a similar thing that I did. Turn away from this Sin if you can. Jesus loves you and he will find a way for you. Perhaps me and my boyfriend staying together shows a fear or lack of faith. I pray that God helps me with this internal struggle.

And some day, you will look back and see a miracle! Stay the course. Love from a sister in Christ. 💛
@noahlean67819 ай бұрын
Andrew, This is a very difficult situation. I understand the grip of sin is very strong and Christians must fight sin every day of their lives. I would like to start by saying that there is simply no such thing as a gay Christian. A Christian identifies with Christ, hence the title of "Christian". Therefore, placing any other identification before "Christian" contradicts itself. For example, you are not a murderer-Christian or a thief-Christian or alcoholic-Christian. Being a Christian means a complete separation from the world and a complete submission to the Lord, Jesus Christ. Consider Romans 6:1-4 "1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? 2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life." Verse 1 asks the question, "Are we to continue in sin?" In your case, it would be continuing to live with your boyfriend and pursuing a relationship with him. Verse 2 answers the question posed in verse 1, "May it never be!" In other words, Christians are called to make a CLEAN break with the world. That means the sinful lifestyles we lead, the idols we worship, or the sinful relationships we have all must be done away with. Verses 3 and 4 talk more about dying to sin which is the idea that, in Christ, our life before we became Christians was put to death and BURIED with Christ in His death and burial. What springs forth from the grave is a new creature with a new life. This is exemplified in verse 4 in which it ends with the idea of walking "in newness of life." 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." I noticed in your comment that you talked about being aware that the life you are living is a sin but it is hard to break away from. The difficulty of breaking away from sin is a truth for ALL people. I will admit that sexual sin is certainly a unique kind of sin, but it is a sin nonetheless and requires repentance. In continuing to live with and be in a relationship with your boyfriend, you are living in unrepentant sin. So what needs to take place is repentance of that sin and clinging to Christ. The apostle Paul talks of his thorn in his flesh in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 of which Paul implored the Lord three times to remove it from him. Whatever that thorn was obviously caused Paul a great deal of stress and made him feel weak. In the midst of Paul's weakness, the Lord said to Paul "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness" What is brought out here is that the Lord does not always miraculously make things easy for Christians. Instead, we are to recognize our weakness and lean wholly into the Lord and be OBEDIENT to Him. We are not to succumb to our weaknesses and be complacent. God is present with us in our struggles for sure but He requires cooperation with Him to bring about holiness in us. I hope this all makes sense to you and that the Lord softens your heart to Him. I am praying for you and your partner's repentance and pursuit of the Lord.

@ There are at least 117 prophecies, appearances, or foreshadowings (PAF’s) of Christ in the Law, at least 144 PAF’s in the Writings, and at least 153 PAF’s in the Prophets. A minimal total for the entire Old Testament, therefore, is 414. Plus, you must be aware of the Dead Sea scrolls by now. If that doesn't make a believer of you, you are deceiving yourself. The argument that that the Bible was re-written countless times goes out the window, for the book of Isaiah (just as one example) is exactly as it reads today. The Scrolls can be positively dated. They are 1000 years older than previously used manuscripts - and yet the text shows no deviation. Until the discovery of the scrolls, the oldest known translation of the Hebrew Bible dated from 1009 A.D. What they showed us is that the texts we do have even from Medieval Bibles have been amazingly accurately preserved. God loves you. He made you from eternity. Don't fight Him. If you fight His Word, remember He is the Word made flesh and you will be fighting Yeshua. Give in to the gentle Shepherd. He will not steer you wrong, and your life after this life will be heaven eternal.

@ "Why would a god write a book when 99% of the people alive were illiterate? A-hole move, don't you think?" Answer is, so that the literate among the Christian community could expound upon the scriptures to the admittedly mostly illiterate Christian community in the first Century, and, of course for future posterity, God being omniscient and seeing that literacy would increase in the last few centuries. Actually, the #1 way God spoke to His children in the First Century was through dreams and vision, that always confirmed the written Logos, the Torah, that is until the New Testament was completely penned approximately 80 AD.

@Mike Winger I have a question. I'm not trying to start an argument. I just want an explanation, if you will. I've heard many people, you included, say that homosexual desires aren't sinful, but acting on homosexual desires IS... Something I've been struggling with is Jesus said in Matthew 5:27-28 (NASB): “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." My question is, Jesus said that lusting after a person means that the person doing the lusting has already committed adultery with the object of their lust. How is that different from the person with homosexual desires, desiring/lusting after a person of the same sex? Should we be minimizing what Jesus didn't? Disclaimer: If this feels like I'm attacking you 1. Please say so and I will try and rephrase (because my intent is the complete opposite of trying to attack) and 2. If you don't want to answer, I completely understand.

As a man, I may see woman & think they are attractive - however, if I lust (imagine having sexual relations with them), that is sinful. Noticing someone is not lust. God can shape your desires over time if you surrender to Him.
@Grokford2 жыл бұрын
@@KtrippinHeartbreaks That's not exactly lust, more like lustful ideation. Lust in a misleading translation, lust is just desire, desire is not a sin, even a desire for immorality. Lust can be sparked by anything just as desire can. It appears to me that the distinction is active versus passive ideation.

Having a homosexual orientation really is not a choice ...being gay means there is not a natural heterosexual attraction and there is a strong awareness that attempting to be straight gives you a strong awareness that this attempt is very unnatural or (against) your sexual and romantic nature..and that you only keep experiencing a same sex natural romantic and sexual attraction.. what is unnatural and natural to your nature is experienced by you recognizing your nature's reaction in which you cannot control or change.This is not the same subject as sex crimes and sexual immorality... ( Which is motivated by hate, anger or just lust) which is a choice. The Bible uses a common straight orientation as an example of leaving your sexual nature...or sexual orientation for same sex lust( sexual imorality)..God will never condemn you for a sexual orientation(sexual nature) you did not choose and cannot change. Just because you have a strong view of what you think the Bible means, does not mean you are correct and that this is truth.this belief is not the truth as is also damaging. Many gay kids grow up in Christian homes listening to these damaging messages and are being judged and rejected and hurt to the core over a homosexual orientation(nature) they did not choose and are trying to understand and accept .. your partially researched view brings separation in families and reiterates blindness and ignorance .clearly in love you do not understand the difference between sexual orientation, sex crimes and sexual immorality. Do your full and complete research and pray for God to tell you what He means. if you love like you say you do, you would fully research on what being gay is , what it fully means, and truly study .....everything.

Quindell Doyle yes thank you!!! Let’s not forget everyone has spirit demons in them!! Weather they know it or not! There’s all kinds of evil spirits that posses every single person living in sin! Some spirits have stronger hold on people then other spirits. The demon spirit of jezebel is in mainly everyone! And the spirit of lust, pride, arrogance, anger, depression, fear, anxiety, drunkenness, etc etc.... People need to realize this is a spiritual warfare!!! We do not fight against flesh but with powerful spiritual principalities of this world! When you know start pouring out your heart to Jesus Christ to save you and help you fully understand a lot of things that you don’t, he truly is faithful cause he has fully opened my eyes and ears like I would have never imagined!! The devil is very real and he rules this earth for now. I can go on and on about everything I know about the spiritual realm that I know of, How we all really do have Angels assisting us in a battle we cannot see in the naked eye. There’s also a dream realm where spirit demons manifest in to give us these nasty “wet dreams” that we get sometimes and stuff like that. It’s all real! Why do you think we have nightmares and all these crazy dreams?! Where do people think they get these random crazy thoughts in their heads on a daily basis?! They certainly didn’t come from you or Jesus. They are from the devil and his evil spirits minions! You see just as the Lord has Angels, the devil has fallen angels too. God is everywhere and the devil is but is not. That’s why the devil has to used his fallen angels, demons & evil spirits to attack us and then you have witches and warlocks, wizards etc etc. real people who have given them self’s to the devil for power or whatever they agreed on. Point is the devil is very real and if you’re living a sinful lifestyle as you please without Jesus Christ you are giving legal grounds for the devil and his devils to manifest in you and be all over your life. Spiritually, mentally, even physically! Believe me, this world is not what you think it is! This life is just a simple test to see who’s worthy of the kingdom of Jesus Christ! This life is to prepare us for the everlasting life and people don’t even know it... So sad.. that’s why everyone has a free will because God does not want to force anyone and he does not want him! Hopefully this helps someone. Have faith and believe Jesus Christ saves!! His waiting for you to turn to him as you currently are so he can clean you and save you from eternal fire. He is LOVE. the most amazing thing you can have while on earth is his love and salvation. He takes away all pain! Is all a matter if you want it or not. Don’t let the devil rob you from true Love and eternal life. Repent and turn away from sin. Cry out to God and ask him to help you walk with him. Ask him anything, he is listening and he is faithful!

23:40 As a bisexual male I disagree with the argument that homosexual acts are inherently harmful to the body. Non penetrative acts (trying to be respectful and not go into too much detail) will not cause any harm to the body, and even penetrative acts, can be safe if done properly, with care. Is there more care required than heterosexual acts? sure. But even heterosexual interactions can cause “harm” or be painful if done incorrectly, or just inherently, for example, a woman’s loss of virginity can be harmful if she’s been pure all her life, there can be bleeding and pain, in some cases it can even warrant a visit to a hospital. There is care required for all acts of sex and the manner in which those acts are performed has a greater impact on the risk of bodily harm than the acts in it of themselves.

Mike - I'm at min 23:00. Your point about man/woman being opposite and suitable is a good point and is a basis of fact and reflection. I find it VERY interesting that homosexual couples try to MIMIC the heterosexual relationship. Look at gay couples and 99% will have a male-like dominate one and a female-like partner, in their demeanor and relationship. The normal standard is copied because it is right and brings security, but they pervert the design of God..
@sangieredwolf5 жыл бұрын
In gay relationships between men, there is no "female" anywhere. There are just different positions. It just means homosexuals have more options in the bedroom and can swap top/bottom roles if they want. Did you also know not all gay men have anal sex? Crazy thought. But sometimes there is no dominant partner and you can engage in frottage, 69, etc. It's about pleasuring your lover not what position you are in. So where did you get your 99% statistic? Did you just make it up or do you have a source for that?

I love your stuff. To clarify, Acts 10-11: This is not about food. The vision peter had was symbolic. Please see verse 10:17-20 and then 10:28 The reason God showed him the symbols of uncleanliness in 10:12-15 is to show Peter that gentiles can be associated with now, subsequent to Jesus’ saving work, for the purpose of teaching the gospel and bringing them into the family of spiritual Israel. As you can clearly see the context of Acts 10-11 has nothing to do with food. The vision was not a literal vision about food, otherwise Peter would have gone out and eaten pork. No, after the visión Peter is wondering what it’s about. So this tells us he did not think it was about food, otherwise he wouldn’t need to wonder. While he’s wondering what the vision was about then the gentiles walk up and God says go with them, doubting nothing, for I have sent them. This happened immediately after he was doubting-and then pondering-the vision. In context we can see without a doubt that this is not about food. The Bible never says that all the sudden pork is okay to eat. The other verse he quotes on food was also out of context and I’d be happy to touch on that too But otherwise I love this pastor and have been really getting fed* by his sermons God bless

In-su Mizuno The Bible many times doesn’t reveal things in way we think today. In Acts 10 God sends Cornelius (a Gentile) to Peter (an Apostle for Israel) to hear words. Up until that time it was not lawful for an Israelite to have anything to do with Gentiles. So while Cornelius sent his messengers to find Peter when they came close Peter went up on his house top to pray and became very hungry and would’ve eaten but he seen a vision that showed animals forbidden under the law to eat followed by a voice that said “Rise Peter kill and eat. This was done three times. When Peter questioned this he was told “what God has cleansed don’t call that unclean” so while he thought on what this vision meant the messengers from Gentile Cornelius arrived and took him to Cornelius. Peter tells Cornelius that God has shown him not to call any man unclean..it’s sort of like saying “put two and two together” This is how Peter responded and I’m quoting the King James Version. Acts 10:25 “And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together. And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; BUT God HATH SHEWED ME THAT I SHOULD NOT CALL ANY MAN COMMON OR UNCLEAN.” Hope this answers it.

@Grokford2 жыл бұрын
I don't believe that homosexuality or even homoeroticism is a sin. That being said even if it were the case, it would not be a unique sin and certainly not a sin that is beyond the grace of God. To say otherwise is deny the sufficiency of God's grace The reasons that I believe that the common anti-queer interpretations of scripture are a bit complex to cover briefly, though I'm happy to elaborate, but I think there is a simpler fatal blow to that worldview and that is Love. God is love, or so it says in 1 John 4:8, and some people like to make this love something esoteric or beyond the common experience of love . But I think that 1 John 4:8 contradicts that notion "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." Certainly, English uses the word love for things that are not love but most of us know what love is and can tell the difference. The Greek word used in this passage is _agape_ which might be translated as care. It is the same word that is used in Ephesians 5:25 when it says that husbands should love their wives, proving that it is not incompatible with romantic or sexual love. Most importantly _agape_ is also the word used for Love in Galatians 5:22-23, which lists Love as a fruit of the Spirit "against which there is no law". Love is treated as a universal good, so is constructive companionship or fellowship for that matter. It's also worth mentioning that scripture also discounts the differences of gender. Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Before God we are equal, obviously differences exist between us, but I hardly think that our fundamental equality has an exception in gender. Gender does not divide us any more than ethnicity or social status. God's love is infinite, why then would we ever expect that the divine expression of love in us wouldn't be the same? No one ever said that in the process of becoming more like God that we would become more like eachother.

@@Grokford Thank you so much for taking time to share your opinion. It somehow gives me another view abt. relationships. But what can you say about " conviction" ? Isn't this a gift from God to help us know what is sin or not?
@Grokford2 жыл бұрын
@@cathcruz7002 I think that conviction is a very important thing, I think that Romans 14 gives a good description of the matter. That being said, if we are going to practice this it is fundamental that we separate conviction from shame. Conviction is usually considered to be either internal or divine in origin, whereas shame is external, that is to say, from other people. Often Queer people can overcome the intellectual hurdles of accepting their orientation but are still plagued by feelings of shame. I am very fortunate in some ways because I was never out enough for people to implant ideas of shame around my sexuality but I still deal with lingering feelings of shame around related issues like my mannerisms, presentation, voice and especially ideas of familial responsibility. This time last year I made the decision to move a good distance away from my family and even though I knew that the situation had become toxic, if not abusive, it was still an incredibly difficult thing to do. But it wasn't conviction that was trying to stop me, it was shame and a good bit of fear. Fear and discomfort are normal parts of change, positive and negative. I probably couldn't tell you which is shame and which is conviction, so I'm afraid that that is left to your own discernment. 1 John 4 says that we are to "test the spirits" because not everything is true, so I believe personal discernment to be a biblically necessary practice. But I would ultimately agree that conviction, is crucial. Not all rules are good and beneficial to all people, I have no problem being around drunk people, but an alcoholic might feel differently.
