Andy, like a growing number of Christian leaders are misinformed. Christoper Yuan, Rosario Butterfield and Becket Cook speak with authority as those who were once deceived. They simply apply the gospel, bottom line. Let’s pray for Andy as a man of great influence. Think of the power of change his shift would produce.

@Lilacs4

@@dansaber4427That is not true. You can be agnostic and be LGBT, or monotheistic and LGBT, but Christianity and LGBT are not cohesive it is like mixing oil and water. Jesus is not hostile towards LGBT (though many people are, claiming to do so in his name) but he has a higher standard for human beings in many categories including but not limited to sexuality.

For anyone who is struggling with same sex attraction: don't allow a mob to affirm you to death. There is another option. If you truly are in a struggle about this, please consider repenting and coming to Jesus for the salvation of you eternal soul and a praiseful life in Christ. The gospel is true: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosover believeth in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

It is crucial to point out to any earnest person dealing with same sex attraction that no-one is born gay. God could never go against his own laws. This means two things. First, that the individual is responsible for the decision to be this way even if the decision was made as a young child. Second and most importantly, this means there is hope and the one struggling does not have to remain this way. Change and freedom are available through simple faith and repentance as cliche as this sounds. Great video.

How do you deal with the transgender issue? Especially with those that try to "nuance" Scripture to make it fit with what they say are "the complexities of modern gender identities"?
@kate60
@kate60 Жыл бұрын
Sex change operations have a 100% failure rate. It cannot succeed. No one can change their sex. You will be treated as the sex you were born in the emergency room. There is no identity in real medicine. Reality is Truth. There is no such thing as trans. It's cosmetic and perverted sex. They wear makeup and do hair only when they feel like it. They dress very ugly and strange. They are more comfortable with men than women because they are men.
@Lilacs4

Personally I like Jordan Peterson's explanation of human personalities and the categorization of masculine and feminine traits and how that is NOT the same as gender identity but is often conflated with it, thus feeding into the confusion. For example I am female and embrace my femininity but in many ways I have a "masculine" personality, that is just a descriptor to refer to traits like being confrontational, tendencies towards aggressiveness, etc. They are not bad or good just like your default attributes of your personality. Anyway he explains it much better than me but it was a very insightful explanation.
@Lilacs4
@Lilacs4 Жыл бұрын
Alisa also had some really good commentary on this topic in one of her recent videos, the one where she interviewed the woman from New Zealand who makes memes, she discussed how culture imposes "gender norms" that are not in scripture like only girls like pink or girls HAVE to like pink etc. And that people who dont fit these stereotypes or cliches can be pushed into thinking they are identifying as the wrong gender etc. But that is not true and is a conflation of two separate things, personality vs sexuality. Both men and women are made in God's image, God is a complete and perfect being he possesses all good traits both "feminine" and "masculine" but he tells us that he is a HE. He is perfectly nurturing but perfectly fatherly too. So as his creation it makes sense we would be a diverse combination of his traits, and that is not contradictory or overriding of our biology he gave us. God made me female for a reason, and he made me a "tomboy" personality for a reason, and I need to live in harmony with how he designed me because he is perfect and holy and I can celebrate those aspects in a God honoring way. Apologies for writing so much, I hope anything I said can be useful to you. 😊

Same sex attraction and identity confusion are simple to understand and simple to cure. That doesn't mean it's easy or short term, just simple to understand. It's like racial prejudice which is cured by forgiveness of the race they have grievances against. Forgive the opposite gender to be able to be intimate with them. Forgive all people to accept the sexual role you are here to act out.

Sex, love, relationship, intimacy, connection, whatever you call it, is a big part of identity and fulfillment. Church doesn’t seem to be sensitive to the reality that some of our deepest longings and desires are not being met by God. There’s just radio silence. All of these words on what’s sin or not doesn’t mean much when there is not other alternative from God. All he offers is silence, besides the Bible, but good luck trying to read this dry and uninspiring text.

Was Jesus tempted with homosexuality? Just the thought seems so blasphemous! i love all your podcasts, Alisa! God bless you!
@trenton9
@trenton9 Жыл бұрын
I think the scriptures stating that Jesus was tempted in all ways is speaking of sin more categorically...like saying that Jesus experienced every category of sin. For example, one category Jesus was tempted in is the PHYSICAL. But there's all sorts of specific sins within that category. So while Jesus was tempted in the physical, it doesn't necessarily mean that he experienced every possible temptation in that category, like homosexual temptation. These are my thoughts. But I haven't substantially studied that passage out. Someone more studied might have better insight.

In the Protestant Christian American community, at the very beginning of my involvement in 1984, i was labeled with a “male”name and i was apparently, thought TO BE “gay”, OR misrepresented TO BE GAY, which was NOT TRUE, EVER, and i AM, AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN a biblical and biological WOMAN. For many years i thought, maybe i am imagining things, so i will give it time, and this LIE will go away. So, i kept quiet, and waited for the American, Christian leadership to “come to their senses” and make the proper adjustments, admit their deception, and straighten out the flawed understanding they have promoted. They never did that for 33+ years, so last year, i got some helpful counseling to “live and speak” the Truth to these leaders to STOP LYING ABOUT ME. I have and they continue to ignore my request to face “reality”. I am, and always have been a WOMAN. YOU, Dr. Christopher Yuan, are very naive, because these men have purposely tried to “defraud” me. Many evil intentioned Christian leaders need to be exposed for what and who they really are.

How about answering the question, "How does a person with same-sex attraction live?" Are the only answers you have for them "Don't have gay sex" and "God is enough?" Is God enough for you? Do you need intimacy and companionship? How about all of you, right now, drop everything and go at life alone? And I'm not talking a "season of singleness." I mean the rest of your life without any hope of romantic intimacy. Yeah, I didn't think so. How about instead of talking ABOUT gay people, you start talking TO them?

@@Lilacs4 I've seen Becket's videos and read his book. Nothing he wrote or said resolved the question of companionship and intimacy, and unfortunately didn't give any straight Christians more compassion or understanding of gay people. He just came out with a video with Yuan, and it is of course aimed at parents of LGBT children. It's not actually aimed at the same-sex attracted themselves. Whenever they address same-sex attracted people, again, all they say is "don't have gay sex" and "don't identify as gay." It's shallow and not helpful.

Rosaria, Becket and Christopher ALL regularly claim that they have found companionship and appropriately close relationships within the church among those committed to following Christ. They each have pursued a gay lifestyle and found it dissatisfied them compared to a clear conscience and relationships that are God blessed.

SSA people are not the only ones who deal with a life of singleness. Christians who divorce for unbiblical reasons and single Christians who can’t find a partner are two that I can think of. Yes, it can be lonely to be without intimate companionship but God’s grace is enough. We have to get our eyes on Him rather than on what we might be missing out on. This life is but a breath and then we will have eternity with Him. Focus your attention on helping those in need or ministering to others will help as help as well.

It's easy to resort to insults and labeling content you don't agree with, but by doing so those words lose all meaning. I recommend studying the word Propaganda and improving your understanding of what Propaganda actually looks like, how it is made, the formula it follows, etc. This will help you learn how to actually discern and separate objective truth from propaganda and have a learner's heart rather than a closed off and hardened one.
