Japan's angriest motorcycle. I had the good fortune to see this and a couple other bikes being wheeled out for Honda top brass at their headquarters at the IOM (50th anniversary?). I had snapped the clutch lever on my RC30 and someone suggested I go along and see if the Honda works team would lend me one. They didn't have one (were a bit sniffy about it actually) but I got to see the RC 166 being fired up. Nothing can prepare you for how loud this bike is.

@@CaptainSparkle In fairness I've only owned five Honda's, rs 125 to race, a nc30 to get some no claims on the board after racing ,a vtech vfr and a cb1300. The rs was fantastic as was the nc30, the vfr was a let down, the 7000rpm that the valves kicked in should have come in at 3700rpm. I found that it was easier when cranked over to slip the clutch at 65000rpm than change gear. Very asthmatic under 7000rpm. The cbr did everything you asked of it, but the motor was too electric like smooth. Not much in the way of excitement. My brother had a fireblade (The last model before the underseat exhaust) which having riden it back to back against my 1999 r1 wasn't as good, we both agreed that the Yamaha turned in quicker and sat on rails mid corner, along with being a lot more exciting once back on the gas. Thanks for your reply captainsparkle, just one man's experience living with Honda motorcycles.
