When I put my flywheel on it locks up the motor almost completely but I can’t tell what’s causing it
@Cubrider6 жыл бұрын
Matt I'm new subscriber but just to say never use an air gun to tighten the flywheel nut. I use to do this Untoll I found on a couple of occasions it twisted the crank slightly as they are only pressed together .cost me a full strip down and crank 're balance.

I have a strap wrench that I use now.

@@HTMR yes meet too. Mine is a plastic handle with thick rubber strap. Then I tighten it by hand. I still use gun to undue though

I have the "boa constrictor" aluminum handle and grippy rubber strap...love it.

Would balancing these engines improve performance I have a Honda clone and it vibrates at high rpm, I'm thinking cheap engine most likely not well balanced
@HTMR7 жыл бұрын
I've never had a Honda balanced. By the time you strip all the parts down and pay to have it balanced, you can put that money towards a Honda that does not have the problem.

Ha! I'll get it right one of these days.

what type of stator is under your flywheel?

Did you ever find out the torque value for the flywheel nut? I am working on a 1984 Z50R. Changing points and condenser behind flywheel.

+Andrew Franklin I can't remember. Download the service manual from my site: www.howtomotorcyclerepair.com/honda-z50a-z50r-service-manual/

This spec is not listed in the manual. Already checked.

+Andrew Franklin Just checked the 88-99 manual, page 9-0 states 25ft*lbs. My site was probably down for maintenance. I don't have the 84' manual.

You didnt say if the flywheen nut was anticlockwise to unscrew (usual way) or clockwise? Depends on which way flywheel rotates I guess but please clarify

@johnf33265 жыл бұрын
@@HTMR Yes I figured it ANTI-CLOCKWISE to undo as per most nuts

How do you time it up from scratch using a lightend flywheel matey
@HTMR9 жыл бұрын
akeem m.s There is no timing adjustment. The flywheel is keyed by the woodruff key. The pickup bolts on with no adjustment.

would the torque spec be the same for a 2007 Honda CRF70F? I can't find the torque spec anywhere.
@HTMR8 жыл бұрын
Not sure. You can look up the PN for nut on the 50 & 70. If the same, then use the same torque.
@Kristo996 жыл бұрын
can you remove it with out the puller?
@HTMR6 жыл бұрын
No.
@steve59125 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. Take a screwdriver and put it in one end by the plate and put pressure on it and on the other side lightly keep tapping on it with a hammer and itll come off real quick. Anyone that tells you no is lying.

Can you tell me about the stator and base plate is it cdi is it 6v or 12v and will it possibly fit a atc or ct70 motor for cdi conversion
@HTMR4 жыл бұрын
CDI. There is no power coil on this one to supply 6/12V.
@farleyj19994 жыл бұрын
@@HTMR so the cdi gets its power from the charged battery not the stator on this motor

@@farleyj1999 There is only one coil, and it generates power for the CDI. No battery on this model.

@@HTMR so dc current comes from the stator and powers the cdi
@HTMR4 жыл бұрын
@@farleyj1999 Rotor/stators produce AC. It will have to go through a rectifier/regulator to convert to DC. Not sure where or if this happens on model in video.
