That is impressive ima buy the one I’ve been debating choosing a gsxr 750 over i think it is the all around better choice for city highway and just daily driving for everything

We had a courier that delivered parcels to us on one of these , he had done 250000km with just oil and filter changes and tappets adjusted. Have fun trying to ride it till it dies , it might out live you.

I had one for a bit under 3 years. One year alone I put on 45,000 miles. They're tanks! I'm looking at a 2007. I'm excited to reunite with the Hornet.

I bought a red 06 back in 2010 and still have it. I've riden from Montana to Florida and back then to California and back. Lived in Montana, Arizona and Georgia in that time haven riden all over these and surrounding states over the last 14 years and she still runs like a champ. Best bike I ever owned and the only one I'll never sell. This bike checks all the boxes! I bought a complete set of Givi bags for the touring rides. Tons of pictures throughout the years on my many trips. Only complaint was the seat being made of stone. Not for long rides. I've done 6 oil changes, been through 4 sets of tires and 2 chains. Had to replace the tank and fuel pump due to rust last year. Until that point I'd never had an issue. But worth the investment as I know it will give me another 14 years at least. Don't sell your Honda 919's. Everyone I ever talked to or read about doing missed it more than any bikes they ever owned. Definitely one of the best reviewed bikes ever!.

if you don´t know when your coolant where changed, i recommend that you do that. almost every manufacture says replacing it every two years. it isn´t always about freezing point or if you have temp problems.it is also about the rust protection and lurbicated your engine

400lbs? No. It’s 485lbs wet weight stock. Which is actually heavy for a naked bike under 1000cc. I was able to drop the weight of mine by 35lbs by replacing the exhaust, battery, and a few other items. Also not a sport touring bike at all.

@Magamata-EE
@Magamata-EE 7 ай бұрын
@@brb653 Mine stinks like hell. Low pressure zone behind the rider, aero effect. Search for "919 stink". There are some threads about fixes, but I doubt any of them are 100%, unless you get a 1000rr exhaust conversion.
@samoksner
@samoksner 4 ай бұрын
Yea I think both the 919 and 599 are known for this for some reason, not sure what it is... I'm guessing just the aerodynamics of the bike causes exhaust to come forwards??

Hi, I also have a Hornet 900 (in Italy it's called that), how do you solve the smell of exhaust fumes that reaches your back? Especially on the back of a potential passenger? On mine I noticed great improvements by adding a small windshield but the problem remains.

This model runs rich at idle that's why it doesn't run that hot even when in traffic. You can get it tuned but just don't mess with it is my opinion.

@NicksCarHistory Жыл бұрын
That makes more sense! It's a little too small for sport touring huh
@flexjay87
@flexjay87 Жыл бұрын
@@NicksCarHistory , yeah, i mean i think by definition anything with touring would have some factory wind protection/ luggage capability of some sort, even if its quite small, on both counts. Bike is cool / classic Honda. One thing you might keep in mind, if correct, the cams in that bike are supposedly Cast metal, not forged. So , a lot of high rpm runs, could be a little dicier than you want. Now, have i ever heard of one coming apart ? No i have not. Regardless, change your oil much more often than Honda recommends, imho. Stay safe :)
