Man, thank you for putting this together. I dig your workflow. This is year 21 of owning this vehicle, bought new in 2000. Many years of digging through Honda forums and KZbin, in conjunction with a legit shop manual, has kept this beast alive. 335,000 miles on a damn good car. Thanks again for your work.

Wow, I have a lot to say about this video, all positive!! First, I have almost 20 years experience working on cars and was taught by my dad who when we started had 25 years experience as a mechanic, and now has 20 more years as an engineer! Also, I have a degree in mechanical engineering specifically because I wanted to work for Honda, designing engines for them. Second, I have owned Honda’s for years and have worked on them for years. I have had my 2001 v6 accord for almost 3 years now and it has yet to hit 140,000 miles! Anyway I love the car and work on it all the time. In fact a couple weeks ago my dad and I replaced most of the front end steering suspension components like bushing and tie rod ends and stuff like that. So the next project is these mounts, hence why I’m here, and I have to say that out of ALL the videos I have watched on how to fix a car, this is the most comprehensive and detailed. I love the dedication. Installing parts while holding a camera is just incredible!! Hats off to you, I know I would have difficulty and I saw you struggling as well. But where I would have set the camera down, you just kept pushing!!! I highly appreciate you telling us what tools we need for each section, as I always prepare my tools before starting a job. This makes it a lot easier and takes the guesswork out of it. Overall, 9.8 out of 10!! I don’t know how it could be better, but we can always improve😉😂

I did the other 4 mounts yesterday, gonna do the rear today. I stared at it wondering if I can get it out without removing the bracket, wondering if I can Jack the motor enough to clear the stud. I'm assuming even if I clear it, there will be no room to get the mount out with the bracket bolted to the block. Is that correct? The other 4 mounts are in but free from the brackets
@soulsoldier7776
@soulsoldier7776 Жыл бұрын
Vary informative video. I've watched this video over and over doing exactly what you did and now I'm on the back motor mount onto the bracket connected to the motor. For some reason even though I'm doing everything your doing exactly the back motor mount bracket won't align properly. The back bracket ist close enough to the motor to properly align even though I've done everything you've done
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE
@BLUECOLLARGARAGE Жыл бұрын
That’s weird. Is the new motor mount exact the same as the old one? Are you able to leave all the mounting bolts lose so the motor mount is still able to move and see if it lines up then just to get the bolts started at least?
@soulsoldier7776
@soulsoldier7776 Жыл бұрын
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE the bottom part of the bracket where I believe two bolts belong are only few threads into the motor unlike the top two ( the long bolt and the first bolt that was instructed in the video are able to fully insert into the motor)... I know it's something minor I'm over looking but these are OEM parts that are identical to what I pulled out. The bottom two bolts that you do underneath the car on the bracket is the problem of alignment of the bolts and for some reason the bracket at least I think ist doing what it's supposed to for it to be on probably. Thanks for your time means a lot learned tons from your videos just learning on my first car
@soulsoldier7776
@soulsoldier7776 Жыл бұрын
@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE i figured out it was that I needed to start the bolts in sort of the same order as you did during the video. What I did was start with the highest bolt on the bracket you started with in the video than did the vary lowest bolt next. I tighten those two than moved on to the long bolt and the one under the long bolt. Tighten the highest and lowest bolt more than the other two on the passenger side of the bracket until the other two can twist in until locked in. I kept looking at the bolts and if one was crooked I tightened every other bolt until that one that was crooked looked straight than I moved to that one and the next one nearest. Than I triple checked everything and now my car feels much more smoother in each gear and even at idol. I've also did the front suspension from your videos as well. Thank you for your Amazon link and time to make detailed videos like this. Hope this helps someone

At 25:52 the heater hose flow control, or whatever it's called, on my daughter's car is leaking right where the screw holds down the end of the cable. It's May 2022 now and I have a 2000 V6 Accord sedan. The engine jumps pretty good when I put it drive with the brake on and then press the accelerator slightly. So I am pretty sure it's the very front engine mount by the radiator. Does this ENA kit from Amazon that you bought still hold up today pretty good? Not sure if you still have the car but just wondering. I have 360k mile on mine right now so no need for me to pay for the expensive OEM priced mounts. I like the kit you linked for only $69.99 which includes all the engine and transmission mounts. If this comment reaches you please let me know how these mounts are holding up today. My son is now driving the car he has put id say close to 10k miles on it since I changed out all motor mounts and they seem to be still holding up no issues so far. As you saw in my video pretty much all the mounts except for the front one were trashed. These car are notorious for going through motor and transmission mounts. I was in the same boat as you because we had just bought the car for $700 and didn’t want to spend the money on oem Honda ones because we just weren’t sure how long the car would last but it’s still doing good.

@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE Awesome. Thanks for the reply and update. I have to replace the mounts and most likely the front driver side lower control arm on mine. I have this creaking sound coming from the front driver side wheel section and I hear it at slow speeds and when I slightly turn the steering wheel back and forth. I hope it's the lower control arm since it looks like it's a little crooked where it bolts to the frame by that 2nd transmission mount. So far I only changed the sway bar bushings since I noticed one was missing a chunk when I was looking underneath the car trying to figure out what was causing that creaking sound.
