Fun fact - The power increase of the facelift TSX is more significant than advertised. Because of the change in the HP rating system during that period of time, Honda decided to incorporate upgrades to remain competitive in its class. According to them, the 5hp increase is actually closer to 13-15 hp. In other words, if the old system was still used, the facelift would be rated around 215 hp. The hp numbers for other Hondas at the time went down if they didn't receive upgrades for the new model years.

Could you combat that slow increase on the auto gears by using the tiptronic or D3, instead of D, i've noticed it revs a lot higher earlier and throttle response is much better
@KiwiCarLife
@KiwiCarLife 3 жыл бұрын
Not really tbh, shift points aren't altered between D and D3, so the speed or revs you'll achieve between each gear will be the same regardless. All D3 does is stop it from going any higher than 3rd gear which tbh is quite useful around town. In the 0-100 vid I was using tiptronic mode

Hi Liam, Just recently purchased my first CL9 Euro. Manual but non facelift. And stumbled across your array of great vids on them. Just wondering however if you would know anything about dash cluster changes. ? Mine is an 03 and I’d like to upgrade both the steering wheel and gauge cluster…is this possible or has Honda had a wiring harness / plug change between the two versions…? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
@KiwiCarLife
@KiwiCarLife 3 жыл бұрын
That's getting beyond my knowledge, but at a guess your main issue would be with the screen the facelift cars have. At a guess, the PFL's wouldn't have the necessary wiring or sensors to produce the information the screen requires, so you'll be left with a dead screen in the middle. Changing the steering wheel shouldn't be an issue, but again you'll have the issue of those two buttons down the side not doing anything. Personally I wouldn't bother. Get your steering recovered if it's worn, and leave the gauges. Too much effort for too little gain.
