I found a dirty 2004 CL9 (hadn't been cleaned in years) with under 70K on the clock (its now at around 77K) The car has cleaned up amazingly well. It looks super new inside and out. There is something about these models that clean up so well. I was lucky to find one at a good price with such low Kms. A pulley kit lightens the load on the AC belt and alternator. If the belt that runs electrics on the car is lightened then that power goes directly to the wheels and frees up a bit of additional load on the motor so in theory should provide a slight fuel economy boost as well as extra power. You might like to look into it 🙂

If you want an auto for daily stop start driving that's still fun on weekends, get the 4th generation Subaru Liberty 3.0L with the flappy paddle auto. Plus the AWD is much nicer in traffic as you can launch (easy to get it right with the auto too) from red lights to get in front for a lane change when needed.
