This generation Europe Honda ACCORD is better quality than German saloons in the same D-segment premium class. In fact this 7th generation Honda Accord TYPE S has been rated higher than the S60 Volvo, B7 Audi S4 in 2003, and it has better rate even E90 BMW in British car magazines in 2006 as Autocar magazine. Unfortunately, the 8th generation Accord was a very good saloon, but it did not receive as good a rating in the European market as German cars. The current Accord sold now is the successor to the Japanese "Honda Inspire" (the name of the Accord in the US, Australia, and Southeast Asia), and was not sold in Europe, so it lacks quality in many areas. There is no trunk arm lining, and the trunk bounces and bounces when you open it. The Accord in Japan and Europe at that time is called the Accord Euro in Australia and New Zealand markets, and the Acura TSX in the US. The current Accord looks great, but I think the TLX, which is the successor to the Acura TSX, should be sold as the Honda Accord in the Japanese and European markets, and the Accord Euro in the Australian region. And the Accord in the US and Southeast Asia should be the Honda Inspire. If the TLX is released in Europe as a European-spec Accord, the Japanese market and other regions may see the creation of a grade equivalent to the "Euro R," which would have the same suspension setup as the Euro spec and be equipped with the Type R engine.

Euro R is named that way because the CL7 (K20 2lt) and CL9 (K24 2.4lt) was designed to look like a "European" car. The CL9 is called the Accord Euro in Australia and Acura TSX in America. There was also another Accord but that was made in Thailand and didn't look as nice.

@@MSZsama The Type S in the JDM market is the "Sports" version that was later released in Australia (not with full options). Some places called it the Accord Euro Sports. In Japan it has the option of Recaro seats for example.

Not correct, the CL7 euro R gearbox 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears have the same ratios as the DC5/EP3 type R, but 4th, 5th, and 6th are slightly longer but the same final drive 4.764. However, the FD2 type R gears ratios from 1st to 6th are the same as CL7 euro R, but the FD2 has a shorter final drive 5.062 instead of 4.764.
My father has a version of this car. It is a beautiful machine. For many years I simply assumed it was a normal sedan as I did not know about cars. When I learnt to drive it, I realized I was wrong and what a special car it is.
