Dude, I love your video and I just rebuild my 1st. PSP on my sister 96 accord. Got the kit off Ebay for $13 free ship.1 thing was different. The pump ring had 2 dots facing the cover and I put it back that way. It working just fine and she can't believe I fixed it for $26. ($13 for snap rings tool) A mechanic told her $250.

This pump is for the 4 Cyl model accord, the V6 pump is mirrored (backwards). Both pumps for the V6 and 4 Cyl are basically identical inside and if you pay EXTREMELY close attention parts can be interchanged, but only a few. (vanes, center rotor, springs, pressure relief valve) And only on model years 94 through 97 as the design was heavily changed.

Hello everyone, thank you for your patience. I'm still new to posting videos on here. Honestly, I do not realize that anyone had posted any comments, until just now. Been away from this for quite a while. Too many distractions. =/ At any rate, I'm going to post "part 2" soon. In the mean time, I have posted a new automatic transmission video. Hi, I've watched all your four videos on pump rebuild and they are very amazing. Especially the honest advice and encouragement you gave in the last video. I however want to ask, what are the expected damages I should expect if the pressure of my pump has reduced? Thanks.

Thank you for watching, and for dropping me a line. Much appreciated. That's a hard one for name to answer, as it could be number of things (vanes and cam ring wore out, internal seals hardened and causing internal leakage, worn out flow control valve, contaminated flow control valve, etc). Your best bet is to tear it down and conduct a thorough examination of all parts. Look for signs of wear on metal parts. Look for rubber seals that are no longer soft. The proof is somewhere in there...waiting to be discovered. I was hoping to answer your question in a more direct manner...but, I gotta be honest. Can't know for sure, without taking a look inside of the unit.

@@SouthpawAutoworks You've actually answered my question and for that I'm grateful. I noticed some leak in one of the pressure hose. I just changed it and tried to pump out almost all the oil in the whole line. I put fresh oil, not expecting to see much difference but lo and behold, there was a big improvement in the steering system. It occurred to me that, I might have some air trapped or oil clogged in my system before. Thanks so much because I wouldn't have gone that far if not for your video.

Not sure why the pump slide on your ps shows the one dot on facing out when the service manual states the opposite. The two dots face out. I installed per your instructions and it was hard to steer the steering wheel.

The only way to know for sure is to make note of the orientation of the vanes prior to disassembling this part of the pump. I recall you mentioned that "all the vanes fell off from the rotor by accident." What a bummer... Unfortunately, I can't say one way or the other on these vanes.
