Instead of fighting tight quarters I would have just taken the whole dash out it takes like 5 minutes. That's how I did my power locks/windows in my 97 SDX

i have a quick question ok so my kit came with a part where you wire in a manual lock switch i hooked it up to a on - off-on switch 3 pin so it will unlock and lock while the door is open but will not lock while the door is closed on the switch , when i hit the switch it locks then unlocks , my fob works perfect

Hmm thats a tough one. I’d have to look at the schematics and what you wired to troubleshoot. I can’t really say what is going on based on that info Unfortunately

Ron. Awesome as always. How did u bypass the driver side door locking feature where you have to hold up the outer door handle to turn the key??

When the door is closed, the locks work as they should. Only when the door is open does the door lock protection “kick in”. So, no issues when the door is closed, or holding the handle open with the door open. Thanks

Honestly, I ended up taking the relay off because the horn beeping was driving Me nuts! LOL.

another excellent vid Ron. I can't help but wonder if there is a "micro" actuator that would serve the mechanism better. The universals are strong, but in the tight Acty door, I think a smaller actuator would be better. the controls seem great, and nice fob. After installing, do you notice any draw on the battery?

Hey Ray! No, no real draw. I drive the truck once a week at least. Every now and then the first turn seems a little sluggish but fires right up after 1-2 seconds. Hard to tell if its just the “compression stroke” or battery draw I guess. Yeah its a cheap kit for less than $100, but it does the job. I fully expect it will not last forever 😂

@@rhd_ron found micro servos... not really micro, more like smaller "box" shape" and ordered a remote interface. another project that will no doubt add speakers, and 3 part painting of door panels.... do you know if the inner panel on the doors are removable? I'd like to cover them with cloth like the vans.... ? most can't be taken apart due to the mfg process. (yet another part to me doing power door locks...) this is how my projects turn into a snowball rolling down into an avalanche....

hey Ron, love your channel, and really appreciate you posting this videos of the Honda Acty. I have a question tho, Iv been searching the internet for this issue i have with my 94 Honda Acty, havnt been able to find much help. So every once in a while after i drive, ill park the truck, turn in off, and then like 5-10 min later something on the truck starts running. Sounds like a fan or maybe fuel pump? Not sure what it is but then after a couple min it shuts off. Was wondering if you might know what this could be and if its an issue? Thanks.

Yep for sure! Thanks for the love. Yeah so thats your sub cooling fan. It blows directly on your exhaust to cool it when it gets hot enough to trip the thermostat switch by the exhaust. It runs until that switch (in the area of the exhaust) opens when ambient temps near the exhaust cool down enough. I had the same issue when I first got mine. Have to be careful though, the relays can stick on the circuit and it will drain your battery. These things should run about 15 mins max from my experience in the summer in the south.
