I bought mine 4 months ago (1000 miles done) to get back on 2 wheels. Did my CBT on the same bike and fell in love with it. I highly recommend people (who are looking for either their 1st bike or to get back on two wheels as a starter bike) to seriously consider this one.

Thank you so much for this video, it really really helped me. I was about to buy a 2017 model with 2000 miles on but having seen this I decided I’m better off with a new bike and in white also as I think the white is stunning. I’m in my 50s with a full license to ride any bike, but at this time I need something light and simple but I feel the need for a proper bike with gears and clutch rather than a scooter style, even though I appreciate that the PCX is also very good. I was not sure about the digital dash, but it seems very nicely done and I’m sure I’ll get used to it. The lack of high top speed is unlikely to be much of an issue, the ability to keep up with traffic on B roads is far more important. Thanks again, it’s the best and most informative video I’ve found.

Bought my Brilliant CBF125 2yrs ago l do a 20mile round commute to work everyday & love riding it,will be putting in for my test soon but will keep this as a commute bike I fill up the tank once a month about £10-£12! I hardly use the car & Yes I do ride it in the rain too as it’s quicker to get to work! I like the digital load out on the new 125 especially the clock as my eyesight ain’t as great as it used to be the digital speedo is great wish I had that on mine! Am 63yrs young & love riding the bike more then driving the car! Traffic jams don’t exist anymore Great Review!

The dash is the only thing that would possibly keep me from buying this bike (though I will anyway when I can). There's no need for that digital crap, couple of nice analogue dials would be perfect still. Like the difference between a rubber Casio digital watch for £10 vs a nice plain Citizen quartz plain face watch with leather straps for £50. No comparison, digital is just ugly and unnecessary. Everything else here looks amazing though, even the eco light is a nice idea. The fuel mileage is out of this world, and I used to ride a CG125... Amazing.

I like both to be fair, it wouldn’t be a deciding factor. Digital does have the advantage of miles until empty. That is one of the most underrated pros.

I agree with your opinion. Very economy and power more than i need. I bought this bike same colour white 6 to 7 mounths ago and ive ridden this bike everyday to work over 2281 miles now. Im 5.7 ft tall, 75 kg weight, around 2 miles on dual carriageway take me top speed 65 miles. im sure this bike could go even faster if i stay on top speed abit longer. Ive got CBT and this is my first bike i started to learn. I found it very comfortable to ride now and is perfect for me as new rider. only consider thin tyre when its rainging and yeah when its too windy. I guess this weather condition would be consider with any 2 weels rider. I like LED light which is on all the time which is very good in winter it get dark soon. First service after 600 miles and after very 2500 miles.

Nice review. I bought one of these some years ago for my son. 2011 model in white as it happens. Good road presence and so quiet. I am quite perky but still managed 140mpg at a steady 40 mph.and now they have improved it more than once. I believe the tank is now slightly smaller from 13litres to 11litres. But with all the improvements it actually has a higher range apparently. With rising fuel costs I may seriously consider one of these latest incarnations. Thank you for your informative review. It's definitely worthy of consideration. Apparently, in the next few years, all major towns and cities are likely to have a congestion charge, but currently, motorcycles are exempt from the charge. When Labour comes into power, it looks increasingly likely.

Absolutely in love with mine, got about 530 miles on it so far. I used to ride a Suzuki fm50 that I spraypainted black. a little 50cc chicken chaser from 1983 that old men ride to coffee shops in Cyprus. The difference is insane. The centre stand and kickstand have already started rusting bad though, make sure you buy a rust guard for it before it starts, I think I was too late.

Bought one of these in 2011 as my first new bike (previously had 4 used ones) and loved it. My only issue with it was its comically thin rear wheel/tyre. A while later I got an rc125 and to be honest, aside from looks, not much between them. Id recommend this bike to anyone young or old.

Thanks for this, wonderfully in depth and full of useful info. A work colleague of mine has a Honda PCX scooter and we got talking about commuting costs, he gets 140mpg on E5 super. I reckon this bike on finance would cost me less to buy than what I'm currently spending on diesel for my Focus. Going to local dealer tomorrow to make inquiries! Passed my full bike test years ago on a Honda CG125 but never got around to actually owning something. Been wanting a bike since I passed but could never quite justify the cost given I already had a car. This bike not only makes financial sense but finally validates my decision all those years ago to get through my test before it became harder and more complicated. Will book a quick refresher course with a motorcycle school once I've put the order in. :)

Need to get some things sorted out first before I go back and order. Been looking at bike security today and it seems most chains 10mm-12mm are too heavy to put inside a top box while riding. Would they fit under the seat without falling through? It's hard to tell from the video.

A nice bike indeed. I'm thinking of getting a 125cc motorbike. I know this is very different from the Super Cub 125. But I absolutely love the look of the Cub! Something to think about for me is the larger fuel tank on the CB125f as well as having an extra 5th. Gear. I'm actually torn by the choice, not easy. Also the fact that it's actually cheaper than the Cub is something to think about... Great through review! Thx for your work on this video 👍

The start/charge system can generate 380 watts easily feeding complete heated motorcyle gear from Gerbing. That is such a pleasure during cold season.

OMG! - Really? Whats the permanent surplus capacity of the generator during summer? My dealer warned about overheating it, suggesting I shouldn't charge more than a phone. But I ' d love to add a 12V 20Ah ( ballpark) Lithium battery, to power amateur radio and stuff on vacations.

Its all LED and the ignition won‘t eat much. „I am no expert“ but I reason the charging system is rated at 380 Watts because its Dynastart and I imagine 380 Watts would be fine for starting the engine. Jacket 60 Watts, Gloves less than 20 Watts because it would fry your hands. There are Trousers and Socks, so times two (normally I don‘t need them) and if you find someone who loves you so much that she wants to accompany you on a cold ride that would be times four (300 Watts but unrealistic because she wants a car @ 3 degrees Celsius). Funny if you ride to the biker meeting point in winter, coffee cold in 2 Minutes and you have to go riding your bike to warm up (no kidding). I plug in when the engine is running. I love Antigrafity 120 Wh Lithium battery, still very small and fits everywhere. Can start a really very big stroker big bore Hog and illegal to ship in EU because it is over 100 Wh unless you employ special security personnel. (Just don‘t tell the European Commission, they are idiots anyway). I am doing fine with the stock battery. A point of criticism was the hard seat and you can use an air seat which triples your comfortable riding time. There is a good youtube video out there by Man Cave Moto. What got hot here was the engine in hottest weather conditions at Autobahn (read: Truck) speeds. It started to ping, just listen to the little mill. Only a problem over 30 degrees Celsius.

Thank you for the review. I am 16 at the moment and I live about an hour away from my school, which is in the city and I was looking for a good 125cc bike that could get me there). I live in Romania so there weren't many choices for me. A friend of mine got a Yamaha R125, but I don't really like to have the shifter in the position sports bikes have it, and I don't enjoy the sporty riding posture required, so I was looking for omething more comfortable, similar to a cruiser. I found this bike but I wasn't sure if I wanted to get it but you sold it to me. I got my provisional right when I turned 16 and rode it for about 3 months, and I am starting to ride it again, since the weather is improving.

This bike is sold in India as the SP125 and same platform is used for the Shine, another best selling bike in India. I always thought the European model had dual channel ABS and better quality switchgear.

Luckily dual channel ABS is only mandatory above 125ccm in Europe. No intention to bash life saving technology, but my tire dealer charges 10€ extra for handling ABS wheels. No clue about switch gear. On my 11 year old Innova the plastic holding switches on the left side broke last week. The switches themself are still fine. I guess I 'll have to mess with fiber glass.

Another great video Nick 👌🏽 my CB125F came on the 24th I went to the Honda dealer in Chester to pick it up. It’s such an amazing bike. Covered 250 miles within 4 days so it’s safe to say I’m in love😂 I managed to get 72 on it yesterday on the dual carriageway so it’s a pretty fast machine for a 125 commuter 😁

One thing I’ve noticed about the bike is that the seat is very uncomfortable for long rides but that’s honestly the only complaint I have. Solid bike I love it. I’ve found your channel today after I put down a deposit on used 2021 CB125F from CJ Ball that they only got in a couple days ago that I found by chance, after visiting today, not even prepped it yet but I have to wait as my CBT isn’t til next Wednesday. I was looking at Yamaha XSR 125 but this is far more comfortable. 125’s are in high demand at the moment, sell as quick as they go on sale so i had to jump on it and get secured. Did a test ride on one when my PCX was on service - absolutely lovely! Only criticism is that it is a bit geared to low. You could easily pull away in 2nd gear without big clutch slipping… One or two teeth more on the front sprocket would save this… Owning a Harley Sportster together with my PCX 125 I‘m tempted to buy one add some paniers and take it for the long journeys…. 😇 Maybe selling my Sporty as I got bored with the way the HD folks act and was always more into small basic bikes…

I've tried up gearing bikes and it never works. You actually get worse mpg cuz the bikes labouring. Manufacturers research this properly and know what they're doing. Happy riding!

117 kg is light nowadays but the 125s back in the 80s,when the 125 law came out, were generally under 100kg and the 100 two strokes (that were faster than the 125 four strokes) only weighed 85kg! Great video, thanks.

I’ve had a new YBR and a CBF both would do 50mph with ease so even given it’s running in that seems a fair drop in performance. Personally I’d rather have a little more top end and ‘only’ 135mpg. There’s also *a lot* of cost cutting since the previous version. Pillion pegs, seat cover and even the riders pegs are fixed not folding. The lack of a tachometer is disappointing too. Whilst we wait to see how this new engines lasts over a few miles I think the last of the previous model is the better bike currently.

They will do 72 mph but the rev limiter kicks in so 71 is top speed but it consistently reaches 60-65mph. I rode mine hard and chose not to baby it through the run-in period because a) dealership was on a 70mph dual carriageway with next to zero run on ramp and b) babying a 125 gets you nowhere fast lol and its not always that safe imo. The engine noticeably opens up after 1st service. Edit: I am 16st or 224lbs and 185cm...with a 2023 model.

Great rewiew. I have the same bike since 2 weeks (230 miles). I'm in France, I'm French and my English is ... what it is. The mirrors could have been better. They are pretty. The right mirror is more outside than the left one (the right one is fixed on the break lever). That's more annoying in France than in the U-K :-) My bike is the metric version (km, l/100 km). I have the average consumption for trip A and B (it seems you don't have it for trip B). I also have the range. This difference is strange. My bike is made in Italy too. I also adjusted the gear lever, one notch. Nothing else (until now). Since 2021, in France we have a 5 years warranty (2 by Honda International, 3 by Honda France). Perhaps Honda U-K will do this too if it works well in France. I am impress by the low consumption achieve by you wife ! I average around 175 mpg (1,6 l/100km), mostly in town. It will be a little more after the break-in. The rear suspension travel is a little too short. It could be harsh for the back on some bumps. I found the eco light quite useless. At some speed I can have this light on in 3rd, 4th and 5th... It a pleasant bike in town and around the town, very economical. Enjoy and stay safe.

I'm impressed that France Honda give additional warranty, it would be nice if Honda UK followed, considering some of our Chinese manufactures offer longer warranty. Had a candy apple red one. Absolutely loved it and got to and from work on a fiver a week but found the chain caused me a fair few problems. Had to Change them so many times in the 3 years I owned it. Unfortunately then once the gypsy kids by my work spotted it they tried to pinch it which they failed to break the handle bar lock so they just smashed it up instead. I went back to a car after.

I used to ride RV125s (Van Van) and they are the only 125s I'd ever ride. The CB125F is clearly a good bike but the aesthetics don't do it for me. The thin rear wheel kind of puts me off. Good review though, and I can understand why they are so popular.

Great in-depth review! Really quiet start up sound on this bike! I was genuinely surprised when you lifted the seat, not by the tool kit, but by that “made in Italy” sticker! I was genuinely under the impression that the CB125F was only made in China at the Wuyang Honda factory! I would be really interested what the VIN plate says, a VIN number starting with L means it was made in China, a VIN starting with ZA through ZR is made in Italy. I know Honda has a number of factories world wide that make the same models, so perhaps the European version is now built in some Italian factory! Interesting as many Piaggio and Aprilia 125’s are built in Chinese factories.

Lovely bike! Only missing rpm meter, ECO light doesn't replace it... I have an euro IV version, if you check oil every 500 miles it's an indestructible bike. Congratulations for your channel! ✌️😎

@@fenrir7969 I ordered mine from MMB in Germany for about € 80. They can be calibrated for single cylinder engines by switching pins on the backside. Used a speedometer clamp to mount. The MMB unit works satisfactory but you will sure find lower priced items on the internet. Greetings

It most favorite bike now in India, for its super Mileage and low service cost. some KZbinrs in India did 3000-4000 km of Long Ride to Himalayas. and it is named as Honda SP 125, and price around 1300+ USD. but now it has a competitor it is TVS Raider 125

I agree about the Chinese branded bikes and build quality with Honda being a step up, wherever they are manufactured. This is built in Italy, the older models have been Indian or Pakistani built or Chinese. But, why a company as big as Honda cannot make a 14 HP engine is beyond comprehension. The engine is there, it just needs pepping up, 10HP just does not cut it. I`m sure if it was 14 HP, a lot more sales would be there especially in the UK. I would buy it, but not at 10 HP. sorry.

You know what - I've just done my CBT and I'm looking for a 125 to start with - I've watched pretty much every video on youtube, and yours was the best. Straightforward, proper hands on review, with learners in mind. I'm a big guy - 5'7 and play rugby - do you think the CB125R is a better option?

Firstly thanks for your kind words. This bike is absolutely fantastic for its price, however the cb125r is far superior but comes with a hefty price tag. If you are keeping the bike for 4 or more years go for the cb125r, if you are looking for a stepping stone to gain a couple years experience and move onto a bigger bike then the cb125f is perfect. 6'2", no sports but traces of gourmetism and damn happy on my F. I have a full license but ride those most basic economy Hondas, to have something that cuts my everyday cake reliably and as cheap as possible. My daily commute consists of village and motorway. If it was country road heavy, I might be lusting after something more powerful, to join the speeding there. Clarification attempt: Even unspectacular family cars go faster and accelerate better than my venerable Innova, so there is quite a bit of stupid and occasionally slightly risky overtaking going on when I am on a country road. Motorways seem fine, I can swim along with the trucks and there is at least a 2nd lane, to overtake me safely. A CB125R should be a tad faster but do you have 2K€ to waste on it, not yet mentioning higher fuel consumption plus probably more expensive tires & maintenance? In the current cost of living crisis I'd rather survive comfortably. Talking just bikes and dreams, I'd sink extra cash in a license and a "beginner bike" thats fun to ride, maybe a CRF300 or a CB500X, IF(!) I was pretty confident to have means and moods, to make good use of it, every year.

Prefer my older gen cbf125. Bought it for £1,000. Bit more vibration. But a great machine to learn on in my opinion. Including how to fix the various components. Owned a 2017 cbf125f and was shocked at how much slower it was than the older model and how quickly it would red line in comparison. This latest model has a ridiculous tank range. That’s a big difference. And the digital display. Forgot a question, is it air cooled or liquid?

Hello, I have just bought a brand new CB125F. It is my first bike and am loving it. Can I just ask if the following is normal. If you start and ride it from cold, for literally only the first minute there is a whining noise from the engine. This disappears very soon. If I start the engine and leave for a minute the idle speed drops and no noise. I have put this down to just the idle speed being higher when cold. Just thought I’d check if this is normal. As for your cb1000r switch over to the nc750x, I think if you don't care about neck wrenching speed you'll absolutely love the nc. I love the frunk and the best part that's often over looked is the nc can do twice the amount of miles on 10 pounds worth of fuel than cb1000r, which saves you money for cakes and coffee at the end of the ride! Respect! My own commute is just 10mls. To do 40 all year round you shouldn't skimp on clothes. You 'll also rack up quite a maintenance bill. So far I left more at the garage than at gas stations. While DIY might be an option, a slightly bigger guzzler like a 300 with half the maintenance could be competitive.
