Love the series. Woodgrain side panels and black fenders would look awesome.

Wood grain is definitely a nice touch

Fenders need to be black since you will have the tank and side covers wood grained. Love the progress man!

A 4 inch tyre will fit ok on 1.85 rim. My RD250 has 1.85 rims and runs a 90/90 front and a 110/80 rear. There can be a bit of confusion over old imperial and metric sizes. My RD came from the factory with Japanese Dunlop tyres with a 3.50 rear. This corresponded with 4.10 Avon Roadrunner and now 110 Avon roadrider. All equivalent sizes.

I just did a top end rebuild on my 500. The gasket set and rings only cost $110. I live in jersey if you wanna borrow the special tools I bought for it if you wanna go that route. Took me about 2 days of work. 50% of it gasket scraping

That wood grain paint job would look AWESOME as a bowling ball rolling down the gutter towards a 7/10 split with a big AMF logo on an old Sportster my buddy used to have.

Tank looks awesome. Keep it going on the side panels and the fenders I would say black. Gloss black.

I also use dish soap and apply it with a paint brush when I do tyres at home, it's messy but makes it so much easier, I only usually need two tyre levers when doing my Mx tyres.

Looking good buddy I really dig your paint job, can't wait for it to be complete and running.

Maybe do the fenders with a black outside and wood grained center opposite of the scheme on the tank. The black would be easier to touch up if chipped by rocks too.

I think the tank looks real good. Good job. Ya sucks about the wheel scratching.

Absolute great! i love the series!!! my only comment is that maybe you should plan a little bit on how to proceed with some things, to save time and money... like painting the wheels in the first step and then install bearings and tires, damaging the paint and having to repaint the wheels again :) But i really love what you do, because i try to do the same with my bikes, having only the necessary tools and passion! keep it up!!!

Your tire balancing technique is very familiar to me. I use the same one when I balance with tire weights, but the last few sets of tires, I used balancing beads. Really easy to use with tubeless tires, takes a little more effort to use with an inner tube, but so far, no issues at all with out of balance tires.😅

The Yellow dot on tire is light spot, supposed to go same side inline with valve stem.
@GoldGuyRides Жыл бұрын
Yeah I messed that up, good thing I balanced it anyways.

I thought yellow dot was set next to the valve not opposite?
@GoldGuyRides Жыл бұрын
Yes you are right, I messed that up but it's okay because I balanced the wheel anyway. I'll do it right next time.
