@RUBBERNMETAL2 жыл бұрын
The crunchy gearbox… well you have a point there I’ve definitely felt better gear changes on other bikes. The ergo is quite comfy IMO if you want it to be more upright you can get risers. The seat issue is too common to even mention I can’t sit on it for more than an hour.
@vintagerealityvr4 жыл бұрын
The only thing I don't like about this bike is the seat is a concrete block after an hour of riding. I can't really pick anything else out I don't like *Those false neutrals I had trouble with for a while, while the gearbox is butter smooth, you just have to focus on a firm and precise shift. Because it's so precise One moment of laziness with a shift can throw it into a false neutral
@RUBBERNMETAL4 жыл бұрын
Ya false neutral is just something I need to sort myself. It’s better recently. One point I think deserves to be on the list is the throttle free play. It’s a bit excessive but that’s easy to adjust. I didn’t put the seat being hard in the list with hope that given time the seat will sink in and soften like they do on my other bike.
@cliveomahoney40963 жыл бұрын
The vibes on my 650r were very bad after running in. Though the seat mainly. It seems to differ from bike to bike. It has improved after more use at high revs. But, still isn't great. I agree with you about the TC switch. Very annoying. I've got used to the indicator position.
@RUBBERNMETAL3 жыл бұрын
The vibration is still very obvious to me but I've gotten used to the it now and having plenty of usable torque lower down means I don't reach higher revs a lot. Maybe we should try the elixir for smooth engine which is the Motul 300v for the next service? heard good things about that engine oil.

Decent review. I share some of these issues after owning mone for over a year. Be aware that all brake hoses are steel-braided. It's just that its concealed under a surface layer of rubber. The Ducati has an external braiding sheath (possibly in conjunction with embedded braiding). But this is done more for aesthetics. In Australia, this model is ECU- restricted for learner approval requirements. The way yours launched from the lights really highlighted the difference from my bike.
@RUBBERNMETAL3 жыл бұрын
Hey there thanks for sharing that info I didn’t know that it’s actually steel braided underneath. That’s gonna save me money from changing it later. It’s no big issue it’s just it’s own characteristics I’ve gotten used to it now. Ah you can have the restriction removed once you’ve progressed through with your license right. The acceleration is quite impressive it doesn’t get old.

Have the same bike, when I first started riding it (first 2000km or so) used to get lots of false neutrals to the point I thought something was wrong with it, sometimes even at high speeds, and when it got back into gear it made a loud thump (scary, but the bike is perfectly fine and can take those). Turns out it was me all along, I was doing sloppy and indecisive foot shifting, now at 8000km haven't had a false neutral in ages. Got a pair of proper boots and that also helped a lot, but generally you must push and lift the shift lever with a decisive motion, else you risk getting it stuck in between gears. Also the OEM 10w30 oil sucked for me, I'm running on 10w40 oil now and it's soo much smoother since it's not overly thin at hight temps, meaning better lubrication and smoother shifting. Hope this helps !

@RUBBERNMETAL4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment my friend. The buzzy character is apparent in gears 1/2/3 because the bike is still stable and not too fast at those revs. Above 8000rpm it’s still there but you’ll kind of forget it’s there as you need to focus on the speed lol. At gear 4/5/6 you’ll probably more focused on other vibrations from the wind and road rather than the engine. Not sure if that helps hope it makes sense.

The CB revs easily but vibration increases above 6000rpm which begs you to shift up a gear. But above 8000rpm the power is like it’s a different bike, just have to bear with a bit more vibration.

It’s not vibration that will make you feel out of control as they’re small but high frequency vibrations. It’s like if you’re holding a power drill without actually drilling anything and squeezing the trigger hard it will vibrate at very high frequency but it’s not going anywhere. I’ll try and find a better analogy. I’ve also removed the bar inserts in order to install the bar end mirrors which makes it vibrate slightly more lol.
