Hey when you paint the engine, you should polish the tips of the cooling fins and put some really thin masking tape over the polished tips. That makes the engine really pop.
@forthebold7 жыл бұрын
That and functional also, it's pretty much a must do if you're painting air cooled engines as the heat needs to escape, undecided yet with what to do to the engine. Waiting for the customer to decide.

Is it designed for just a straight pipe or does it take a silencer also? After watching this I bought it also, but only a straight pipe came with it. Is that the way it is designed. I then ordered jets from 6sigma.... 120 main and 78 secondary. Plus running pod filters.... it needed jets to match the air flow. 1982 cb 750 k
@forthebold4 жыл бұрын
It’s designed to take the delkevkc 63mm silencer too. Only thing I’d say is to use K&N pods too. Any cheap brand is just like adding water to your fuel
@Mstrndizguyz4 жыл бұрын
are you saying a silencer instead of the straight pipe, take off the straight pipe and add the silencer?🙃 And by the way , you are an inspiration to my work on this bike. That exhaust looks fantastic! I do have a small suggestion for ya though from my days working at a car factory. There are silicone ring covers you can get to wear over your wedding band so it doesn't scratch or dent the metal and/or paint. Cheap and really worth it in my opinion and that way you can keep your band on. I can't wait to see where you go with this build though!
@forthebold7 жыл бұрын
Thanks and thanks for the suggestion, I'm always paranoid that if I take it off I'll lose it.
@kbowen22517 жыл бұрын
I know the feeling! I have a tungsten band myself and with some of the work I do I keep a silicone cover around just to keep from scratching or denting something. Should be able to find something on amazon and then you can keep a baggie of them in the shed haha P.S. electrical tape can work for now as well
@forthebold7 жыл бұрын
good thinking, hadn't thought of electrical tape.
@kbowen22517 жыл бұрын
Only thing about the tape is it will need to be replaced frequently. That's why I still recommend the silicone cover.

4 to 1 was definately the way to go on this. Looks really good! I have a question regarding my first build. I have no idea what to do with the crankcase ventilation system! Should I buy one of those filters that just clamp on to a hose and leave it at that? What have you done for the GS550 and CX500? What do people do, generally, when building cafe racers or scramblers? Doesn't seem to be much info on the internet about this. Thanks so very much!!
@forthebold7 жыл бұрын
I know what they're there for but as for when I'm not 100% sure. The best thing I stick to is if your bike has ventilation pipes don't block them, use filter pods, if the ventilation holes are bolted up, I leave them

In Brazil, this Bike is very rare and expensive. But, the engine is the same as the brazilian CBX 750. So I bought one and am now buying some parts. The project is a bit more difficult to execute because the CB is more "ready" to become a cafe racer than the CBX. But I'll be starting the tear down proccess this week. Would you mind take a look at the CBX 750 and see if the original gas tank will be a problem or will do? Thank you very much, apprecciate your videos. Since my bike is monoshock I already bought a dual shock and will install.

They're pretty rare and expensive here too to be honest. Good luck with yours. Without actually measuring I couldn't say if the gas tank would be an exact swap, but you can fabricate frames etc to fit.
