I did this very job on my CB900F, about 35 years ago! That clutch lever arm attached to the cover, did actually snap!

WOW! The spring lever arm looks simple enough that I could see it happening 😂

you can use a thin layer of grease on both sides of the gasket instead of the silicone too, then it comes off cleanly the next time it needs maintenance. idk or whatever. cool bike and great video.

That special plate (that tends to grenade losing rivets destroying friction plates) is there to cushion impact on the stack when beating the bike. Just replaced mine on a 97 Valkyrie. Thanks for your videos !
@drakeb61682 ай бұрын
Wonder if in theory that plate would then work in the 900? I saw that the 750 also had this plate with their dohc models.

Another masterful job completed! While I don't do much work except routine maintenance on my GL1800, I do very much enjoy understanding how systems on other Hondas work through your explanations and demonstrations!

Thank you so much for your video, you have cleared more doubts than my shop manual did. I own a 1982 cb750f that is starting to ask for clutch service so... let´s see how it goes. Thanks again!!

Way back when....one of my first"special" tools was an old school impact driver..(hammer driven!!). Sometimes it would get that nut off!

Try to explain this. Honda CB1100F I replaced the clutch at 46,000, it was still working at 155,000 miles of a combo of hard driving Sunday morning rides, lots of commuting. Impressive. First 46,000 was more or less not aggressive. Your special tool??? As I recall almost 40 years ago an old bicycle rear sprocket removal tool. 😂😂😂 I don't recall having to remove the bearing. Nor did I coat the gasket. Just trusted the Honda gods.

I am a firm believer that clutches can last the life of the bike with the right rider and technique. Not talking about race applications or off road. Just riding. 🤘🏻

CB900F…Such a good bike. Cool paint scheme. Luv me sum classics. Another really good video young man! Last year I had a 2000 Shadow 1100, Yanked the carbs, cleaned them and installed jet kit. Never done that on a twin…thanks to you I was able to get it on and off the lift pretty quick with no hitches and she purred like she should. Now I have a 2000 Valkyrie. Probably going to pull the carbs this spring…C’mon spring! Happy New Year!

Yet another awesome Video Cody!!! My 2001 Honda CB750 Nighthawk hasn't had a clutch-replacement since I've owned it (for about 8 years now). All I've ever done is "adjusted" the clutch-play in it since I've owned it and even now,she's going strong,but I know someday that clutch is going to need to be replaced! So this video peaked my interest! Thanks for sharing! : >)

What socket did you use for removing the main clutch nut? Looked almost like a 4x4 lockout socket
@fredgarcia7536 Жыл бұрын
The oil comes from the main oil source from your oil reservoir is pumped into your primary for your clutch plates

It's the same as the cb750. Go to vintagecb750. They have the entire clutch system with the grenade double plate with gasket for like 165.

I got an issue with my 82 CB900F, center cylinders are super lean, outters are super rich. it has an older 4 into one Pro Sport pipe, I did the airbox delete with K&N air pods and use Dynajet kit with their 130 jet in the mains. It feels like there is no advance like it's lazy. It fire up and idles perfect, just bogs when pulling out. carbs were cleaned and new accelerator pump was installed and working. Any help would be great

What should I do if my clutch lever is hard to operate? It's lubricated, OEM, pivot bolt and linkage was replaced already. What to do to my 2002 Honda CB600 (same engine as CBR F3) ? Cheers from Poland!

I cannot find a spec. for oil pump drive chain slack for my 2007 shadow vt750. I seems to have a lot of slack as well as side to side play, almost enough that it is rubbing on the gear behind the clutch basket. Does honda not seecify this for any models? Please help if you can

4into1.com, or partsnmore.com. both have the double disc. they also say that the rivets in the double disc are known to fail, and that you should change it out. of course they would, right? lol

Mate, just keep your explanation simple. Too much talking and excessive information that can confuse some people out there.
