How much oil did you put back in? The whole 5qt?
@AliandShan

Fixed* about 1.6qt . And its written on the engine cover how much should you put in.

Never put 2 quarts in. Lol it says exactly in the manual. You’re supposed to put exactly 1.6 quarts no more no less.

After you change oil or cold start, wait about 20 seconds for oil to pump to the camshafts before blipping the throttle. Otherwise you are grinding metal on the engine top end. If you listen closely, you can actually hear the engine sound change when the oil is pumping to the cams.

Thanks for your suggestion we will wait next time, and let the oil to pump to the camshafts before revving..

Great step by step video. I'm changing my oil on my 2017 Honda Cbr300r for the first time and a little nervous about it because changing out my kickstand was a doozy lol so thanks so much for this video. I have the oil and filter just have to get the courage lol to take on this project😬

@@AliandShan I DID IT !!!! I CHANGED MY OIL!!!!! 💃 lol took me about 2 hrs but I got it lol it started to get dark and so I will go back out tomorrow afternoon and change out the filter! I'm going to watch u guys video again and make sure I fully understand the fairing removal part to get to the filter chamber. Thanks for the encouragement. I felt so accomplished to be able to change my own oil today. I poured in 1 and 1/2 courts of GN4 , thats correct right???

The question, don't you normally change the filter when changing the oil? I just noticed the shop parts receipt and the filter part is not listed. l live in another country and there is an English communication issue.
@AliandShan
@AliandShan 3 жыл бұрын
Yes in normal circumstances you do filter and oil change together. There are very rare instances where you would not change filter but change the oil . I have done that like once in my lifetime that I can remember

Oil is dripping from the filter area but I've tied the screws as recommended by manual. Is it normal that it's dripping the first couple of times I've turn on the bike?

Its shouldn't drip... But if its not dripping now then its fine ... Just check couple of times after ride is that still dripping or not...

Should the oil level hit the top line indicator of the engine oil level when the bike is on stand during the refill?
@AliandShan

You don't have to fill all the way... There is 2 lines on the indicator glass top line for full bottom line for low... Just fill till the top... Besides Kawasaki zx6r needs 3.5 liters oil ..

Bro if this is a 2018 it’s 10 w30 oil not 10w40
@AliandShan
@AliandShan Жыл бұрын
At that moment with my research I decided to go with *10w-40* although 10w-30 says on the manual. *10w-40* : 10w refers to the oil's ability to not freeze. The lower the number, the better it is able to withstand cold temps. 40 refers to it's viscosity. *10w40* would be thicker than 10w30. *40 viscosity will work just fine in the bike. It is the more popular than the 30 in terms of availability and practicality. 40 grade oil has the potential of working in anything from cars, motorcycles, to tractors and semi-trucks, depending on how it's formulated. 30 grade is too watery for tractors and semi-trucks. So that's why 40 grade is more popular.
