Honda Civic Mk / Gen 8 Boot Leak.
Have you found a water feature in the boot of your car yet?
If not, your time will come...
If yes, watch this episode to see how I sort out my boot leak out and banish those soggy carpets.
All jokes aside this seems to be a really common issue with Honda Civics and there seems to be multiple ways for the water to get in.
Thanks for watching.
Please like and subscribe, it's much appreciated.

There is lots more great content to come from both the FN2 and the E46 including Track days, Repairs and Mods.
For those new to my channel, I try and do as much auto mechanics on my cars as possible. I'm very obviously not a mechanic, I just have an interest in repairing and modifying cars, and track driving.
Currently, my BMW E46 330ci is my track car and my Honda Civic Type R FN2 is my daily. The plan is to modify the FN2 with the aim of getting my racing license and turning the FN2 in to a dedicated amateur race car.
The E46 is very much a budget track build, however I am still trying everything I can to get that Castle Combe Circuit lap time down...
Thanks if you got this far and please consider subscribing :)

Great Video of these irritating and annoying water puddle issues. In my 2008 FN2 model the main culprit was, poor broken down/dissolved sealing material along the roof rails, but a totally all around resealing process, got rid of the water leaking. That was Five years ago, but I'm still alert every time it's raining or after carwash. 🤞🤞🤗

Thanks for the comment 👍 when I had my car wrapped they didn't re-seal around the rear lights so I started getting water in the boot again. Such a pain with these civics. Long may it stay dry 🤞😁

@@ModFix hello, just came across your video. I had an issue with some engine oil spilled in the trunk. Long story short, my bolt also snapped. Is it bad ? The bolt just holds in place the plastic and the carpet ? I stopped cleaning the trunk at the moment the first bolt snapped. I would like to continue, but i am afraid that the other bolt will also snap. Thank you.

Same on my EP3,leaks in from under the roof rail, down inside of the rear pillar into the boot, dry the boot out then using a hose pipe or jug of water pour water on to a section, check for leak, keep doing that until you find where it coming in, nearly always the roof rail/gutter.

I have the same issue. A rear passenger asked me why is the seatbelt damp, after investigating I found water in the boot well as well as a little bit in the rear footwell. Pain in the ass. Shouldn't be happening on so many Civics. With regards to the rust between the roof and the windscreen seal, you can get that seal replaced if its less than 12 years old, get in touch with your local Honda dealer (I tried two, one refused and the other did it through warranty).

Just found mine to be leaking. Wet seat belt in the back and damp headliner in the back. The heat shield on the exhaust was rattling so due rust the mechanic decided to weld it back on. Whilst driving a hole for welding water poured out of the hole from the boot.

Wish I had left my roof trim in place at the front where it runs down side of front window. Clips are useless and broke. They are different clips to ones on top.

You know the rubber latch thing that pushes in to lock the diesel cap door closed its to the right of the filler cap. mine had water coming through there, and mine was also mainly wet from the jack area dripping down to the left spare wheel area
