Just purchased a Honda Rebel 500 about 3 months ago as my first bike after passing my full bike licence. It's a fantastic machine, a great all-rounder! If you want a Sunday bike and a commuter, it's perfection. I use mine weekly, even in poor weather. It's stable and comfortable and builds confidence so quickly. The only issue I've found is tiny rust spots on the inner exhaust despite the fact that my bike is stored in a shed under a cover. Bar, that it has zero complaints from me. I plan on purchasing the 1100 in a couple more years. Taken mine over snakes pass to visit my brother in Sheffield. WHAT A BLAST ! Even had the sport bikers heads turning when they saw it.

Heck yeah! Congratulations to your licence and your Honda man! If you see my latest video, I also took my brothers Honda on a nice trip in middle Germany. 🇩🇪 me and two friends went to a Harley festival. How many miles was your trip to your brother? Have you already ridden the 1100? I’m really wondering if it’s worth almost double the price! It definitely is one of the coolest Bikes available currently. Well, and with the rust: Sometimes you can do whatever you want! The rust finds its way on the metal. 🤣🤷🏼‍♂️

@Biker_Johnny86 I will have a look at your other video. The ride to my brothers is around 90 miles one way so 180 mile round trip. But here in the UK, you need to go over the peak district (very remote and windy country roads over large hills and samll peaks). "Snakes Pass," in particular, is a meccah for UK motorcyclists. Over 15 miles of winding rural roads on the approach to Sheffield and the rebel demolished it like it was nothing. With regards to the rebel 1100, I tested both before I went with the 500. It's got a lot more grunt and is deffinetly far heavier. You can't move it around easily for a new biker like myself that was a major drawback. Plus, being almost double the price of the 500, it was an easy choice. Given a couple of years of riding, I think the 1100 would be a perfect fit for me. The only drawback is the weight of it and the price.

@jamesnoonan7450 yeah you have a weight of 223kg instead of 190 or so.. that really makes a big difference. And handling is everything as a beginner! This is why I think the CMX 500 is the perfect beginner bike. Now after three years of riding I can say I have no problem with heavy bikes.. rode the Harley Davidson heritage Softtail which is over 300 kg and it was not a problem. Take your time 👍🏼 and always ride safe 😎

Hey mate, I just wanted to say I really enjoyed riding along with you and listening to your commentary on both the bike and the countryside - it is indeed spectacular country there! I'm super excited to get on my rebel 500 once it arrives!

I was station in Germany back in the mid 90's, Ramstein AB near Kaisersluatern. I shipped my motorcycle there, 1982 Yamaha Seca 650. Loved riding in Germany! Enjoyed your video. Now cruising on a 2009 Suzuki C50T. Greetings from Texas!

Wow! What a great memory! How long have you been here? In 2017 I made a Roadtrip from LA to San Diego, Las Vegas San Francisco back to LA with a rented Dodge Charger. Since I have my motorcycle driving license I’d love to go from west to east by motorcycle one day! Texas and New Mexico must be awesome for a Roadtrip like that! If you’re ever around Bremen here in Germany just let me know and we’ll hit the road together 😎🤙🏼. Gotta google the bikes you mentioned, never heard of these actually 😅

@Biker_Johnny86 I was in Germany from Apr 1995 to Apr 1998. Your trip to western US in 2017 sounds great! I have a couple of rides on my channel, including a ride on the famous Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee. Safe travels and keep the rubber on the road!

Cool...sehr authentisches Video.

Allzeit gute Fahrt! 🤙🏼😎

We do greet each other. Two fingers pointed down at the road meaning keep the rubber on the road - like wishing well to the other. Here riding a motorcycle is 28x more likely to kill you than driving a car on a per-mile basis. Greetings from Canada

Ah ok.. I was wondering. Oh wow that sounds super dangerous 😮.. I lived in Mississauga for about 10 months and when I think about the traffic on the highway sometimes I can imagine.. back then I didn’t have any motorcycle experience yet. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪🫡

How is the downshifting when slowing down from 5th to 4th? 4th to 3rd? Do you need to rev match or blip the gas before you shift down? I’m not talking about coming to a full stop, only for slowing down.
@Biker_Johnny86
@Biker_Johnny86 Ай бұрын
If you let the clutch connect gently without reving you have a good braking effect I’d say.. but it’s not like you really pull the brake. I like to do that when I’m getting close to a traffic light 🚦 or an intersection and then I let the bike kind of roll out until I really need the brakes to stop fully. If you ride a V-engine you mostly have a harsh braking when you shift down but since this is a twin engine it’s way more gentle. No need to rev match or whatever.
