That exhaust is why the rings was stuck and gaulded on the piston lol love the videos bro, when I seen you put that gocart engine (650) back together and time it and etc. I gained so much respect for u. #youarelearning
@2vintage4 жыл бұрын
Also I made a mistake in the video. The 1990 Honda cr 125 has an exhaust bridge on the cylinder. This means that the piston needs to be drilled out with two small holes going vertical along the piston where the exhaust bridge would be. I do this step next video! I did not skip over it! Just wanted to clarify before people start to comment about it!
@jorenayer77244 жыл бұрын

Good job on the bike so far. Idk if it was mentioned in the video but I would sand the cylinder head down a bit just to make sure everything is even and it's not warped. If it is warped all this work will be for nothing! Looking forward to the next video

Hey Joe, I just repacked my silencer on my sx 125, and put in a uni air filter with thinner oil, the thing added so much hp I feel like I’m on a 150! They are suck cheap add ons and are so helpful for low en torque and power! You should try it!

exact same thing happened to a wiseco i purchased from ebay, lunk head DHL driver dropped it over my fence onto concrete. chipped the piston skirt . i did get a full refund from the seller though. But you really have to blame the sellers for inadequate packaging on such a precision part.

Kyle Wallace good call v force reed cages def ad some to these bikes. I run boyesen rad valves with there carbon reeds on everything an its worth the buck 50. That with a pipe an silencer goes a long way

Usually when I have the right side cover off, I take a couple more steps and change right side crank seal. I know I sound like a broken record but it could be part of the reason for lack of oil in the gearbox.
@wd-40everything654 жыл бұрын
Lucky on this model you can change that seal without splitting the case. Some models the cases have to be split.

Hey brother by the color of the oil you might have a leaking going on with the water pump..i know its buttoned up now. Also idk if you checked the seals but also that water pump gears shaft wears out on them. If your oil turns grey again that is prob what it is.. Hopefully not tho.. Keep up the good work

Why would you waste money repackaging the silencer? It's not necessary. Also remember how to correctly measure the chain tension. You make your measurements at about the mid-point of the swingarm length, just to the rear of the chain guard. First, push the chain down, toward the swingarm and measure the distance between the bottom of the chain and then on top of the swingarm. Then, pull the chain up and make the same measurement. The difference between your two measurements shoud be about 1.25". Normally, measure around 0.75" when pushing the chain down and around 2" when pulling it up. I don't think I need to say this should be done with the tire off of the ground.

Brand new oil no way was that brand new why do you save old gaskets your just asking for something to fail in time there cheap enough just replace them. Did you use the old small end bearing to. And the tyres are dry rotted. And that piston if it was me I'd of rather send it back then take a Dremel to
@jodyhakamaki56024 жыл бұрын
