Its crazy how in video exhaust sounds loud and good but in person it has such a deep tone/bass without the spark arrestor love it on mine

Love your bike.. everything fits very right.. the titanium pipe, solved the rusting look on the pipe. The skid plate.. the hand guard.. love the mirrors. The angel of the camera from the pov footage.. except for the.. part you showing the bike while standing.. the image is like.. warped.. love that your doing it real.. the time on what your feeling about the bike.. thats why i subscribed..

Nice video!!!! Just got my 24 RL last month. Looking forward to modding it over the next year! Already ordered the graves block off plate. That decel pop is bad stock LOL I’m also hoping it doesn’t get the exhaust so dam hot! Next week is gunna be throttle tamer. I’ll order a get and exhaust (probably fmf I love the look of the mega bomb header) over the winter! Did the graves kit come with a pin for the exhaust air injection thing behind the rad?

Rad! It comes with a 1/2 inch vacuum cap to plug the air box if that’s what you’re asking.

After the mods how does the power compare to your previous 350?

Its more power and at less RPMs which makes it smoother. The 350 is buzzy and powerful but its a lot of rpms. The 450 fits my riding style better cause I'm not that aggressive.

The Graves plate is only for aftermarket exhaust. You don't need it if you leave the stock exhaust on. Yes, I ran the Get ECU with the stock exhaust in this video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHKaeXmjbKZ8m5I

i thought when doing the smog delete you had to get rid of the the thermostat is that not the case now? I have the same bike and live in vegas as well!

You don’t have to get rid of the thermostat, some people do, but living in Vegas you could get away without it. It’s only a concern not having a t-stat on cold day start ups and riding. Taco Moto recommends leaving it in.

How is the visibility with those mirrors...I have the under-bar ones but I like those much better. They just look pretty small so I assume you can't see that great? Mine are about 3 inch diameter. Thanks man🤘

its not that great, I can see my blind spots but its hard to see anything further back. Your mirrors are probably a better version for seeing more.

Are you gonna have to worry about the gas your using when in Baja with that computer?

That's a good question. There is another Taco Moto map on the ECU I can switch to when running lower octane. There is higher octane in Baja just not at every gas station. On my 790 in Baja I get high octane when I can and just mix it with the lower octane when I cant get it. Ive never ran octane buster but people do.

So you use app on the phone to switch to different map? I’m thinking of getting the 450l for a Baja trip, what else you think is a must for upgrades?

@@Highdesertdrifter705 The Get and Aim ECU have bar mount switches for selecting the map you want to run. I have the wifi module for the get ecu that lets me use the app, but its not necessary. The bar mounts work just fine. I think the bar switch is extra $ on the Aim. I wouldn't say that an ECU is a "must have" upgrade. Plenty of people ride them just fine in stock configuration. The bike does come alive with an aftermarket ECU. Must haves for Baja I think is a bigger tank. I have the ims 3 gallon and get about 120 miles. Hope that helps

have you changed the gearing? just curious you think that thing will hit 100+ mph with those mods? im in between, drz400sm, crf450rl, and the 690smcr / 701sm.. it obviously all comes down to money for me.. but i really would prefer that 6th gear and FI... though it mostly be a commuter bike to and from classes / work and then adventuring, hitting local trails etc.. i like the idea of the RL already coming with dual sport tires, though i'll probably end up getting sm tires for it for most of my riding.. either way, which bike I'm definitely gonna be doing the recommended mods to open them up.. and it seems like in my area im not finding much for used bikes that are looking appealing. dealers by my house in VA atm have a drz400sm and another has the RL..to me the RL seems like the perfect option between the drz and the 690/701, price wise- ish and performace and maintenance, but if im going to have to throw another 3-4k on it, im already at the price of a 690 or 701 out the door.. im just not as trusting of those brands as i would be suzuki or honda.. not familiar with them

it will do 85 easily without even trying on stock gearing. I need a tac to know the rpms but it's got more to go for sure. I'm also ot trying to crush highway miles. It could also be geared for road use even more. It depends on the type of riding you do. Save money and get drz sm, its ready to go. the 450s make excellent sm hooligan-type shit, The ktm is a good package but its a bigger bike and you can get them sm. the rl is a premium dual-sport that just cost more but performs more like the ktms and beta. The rl stock is noticeably higher in performance than the drz.

Hey I just ordered the graves exhaust and will be ordering the header separately (to save spending all at once) if I get excited and want to just slap the exhaust on with no ecu what will happen? If it will make it worse then ai will just hold off until I get the header and ecu

if you put this block off plate on with stock ecu does it throw engine codes ? im sure the taco moto ecu has the CEL codes deleted for smog?

You will be fine to use the block off plate with the stock exhaust. No there will not be any codes thrown from doing it.

You just plug it in, but if you have changed the exhaust from stock be careful since the stock ecu is not tunned for the aftermarket power parts.

17 lbs dropped on the stock exhaust down to 6 lbs with the graves and the smog is like 3 lbs. so like 14 lbs reduced with those two mods.
