Excellent video, was a quick install. I found the best spring installation tool was the 17mm wrench needed anyways. Cheers!

Got it installed and aside from those springs it was an easy little upgrade for the bike. Thanks for a great video and product. Question though, no paper instructions with the kit?

@@themanisingh no sir. It fits very well, had plenty of spacing all around and had a rubber bump stop to keep it from bashing into anything. Really glad I bought it as it's very well made and hugely useful for maintenance purposes.

I purchased and installed your unit, using this instructional video. The right stop bracket I was supplied (3:40 in the video) is different than the one shown in the video. The result is thathe centre stand is not being stopped soon enough, resulting in the sharp edge hitting the underside of the swing arm. This happens with some force and has left indentations and chipped the paint on the swing arm where the foot makes contact. I have installed some additional washers on the rubber stopper and that has helped, but it s out at least 1/4 inch and that means the hex bolt supplied is too short. Anyways, I will make it work, but I did expect it to be less of a hassle, and certainly for it not to damage my bike. Build quality is good, but buyers beware and check this piece when you’re done to make sure you’re not having a similar problem.

yeah i bought it as well and the piece is different on mine as well i haven't installed it yet but i dont understand why you would switch the location of the rubber bumper and not make a new video. I most certainly did purchace the 1100 one it says on my receipt 1100

Hello Outback Motortek Team, this is a nice and easy video about the installation of the main stand. Two "little things" I noticed though. 1. the kick for operating the main stand seems to be unfortunately quite close to that of the side stand and 2. it also makes the impression for me that the attachment point on the main stand for the two springs seems to be a little tight / thin. Can you please comment my impressions. I would be pleased. Otherwise I am very curious what you will produce and present next for the 1100 Africa Twin. Keep up the good work! Thanks Oh one more thing, the part (the skin stand) seems to be quite massive, can you comment on the weight? I mean, this makes the bike accordingly heavier.

I have a 2016 Africa Twin with an Honda OEM center stand that has broken 3 times, probably due to it rattling in place when going offroad. Does the outback version of the center stand fix this vibrating issue. Very interested to try outbacks version of the center stand if it is better then the OEM (which it pry is) Also will it work with an Altrider Skid plate?
@themanisingh
@themanisingh Жыл бұрын
It wont vibrate as it rest on its own stop bracket. OEM one rest on swing arm and so its vibrate or move with swing arm. Not sure if this stand will go with Alrider's skid palte but it should as that skid plate doesn't go that far backward.
@brawnphillip
@brawnphillip 4 жыл бұрын
No skid plate, I assume this was removed for ease of installation, and the stand is compatible with the skid plate still.?
@Outbackmotortek
@Outbackmotortek 3 жыл бұрын
Phillip Brawn No, the skid plate does not interfere with the centre stand. We finished the development of the centre stand much earlier than the skid plate.

Guys, does this stand rest on the swing arm and move up and down like the stock oem one? Or is it totally independent of the swim arm?

I think you have made a mistake at the 6:57 because spacer should be installed from inside, not outside. On this way the central stand will use a spacer to go up/down and will not try to unscrew the nut. About the spring attachment. I would recommend go the central stand down and then attach the spring. On this condition the spring is the less stretched.
@TheFlemmo123

If the spacer would be mounted from the inside the bolt would not provide any form of function. 🤣 not a stable centerstand..

I bought one for my '19 ATAS and the ring on the right fitting does not want to slide over the round tab of the frame (3:50 in your video). Ring is just not big enough. Should I take the dremel tool to it and try and make the ring opening of the ring on the center stand a little bigger??
@Outbackmotortek
@Outbackmotortek 3 жыл бұрын
It’s possible that there may be powder coat inside the ring or that you just need some extra grease in order to slide it into its place

I'm just going to come out and say it. OBMT makes the best after market parts I've seen. I have the ultimate protection on my 21 AT. I have been having an issue with my oem center stand and honda has been giving me the run around. The circlip and the washer both came off of my bike. I have not damaged the bike or even dropped it. Luckily I was home so I was able to get it off and it didn't leave me stranded. The only option the dealer had was to order and entirely new center stand because they couldn't order a washer and cerclip. Cutting to the chase here. How is it after the first issue with their center stand on the previous generation a after market company can come up with a far better solution???? This is making me question Hondas fame for quality and bringing to light the issues that should have been fixed before the new generation of AT. I'll be ordering my new center stand today from OBMT and not honda.
@themanisingh
@themanisingh Жыл бұрын
Even I have doubts on cerclip holding (indirectly) 250+KG weight on irregular surface. but OBMT should have opted for soluation where spacer should be welded on center stand itself and slide inside like OEM one and than nut bold to fix this.

@Mani Singh I think you're right. Just finished finally putting mine on. Been busy working on another project. The OBMT stand feels way better than the oem. I'm happy. It's the best there is as of right now. Really wish I could post pics
