I have just over 600 miles on my 14' CRF250L & lovin it. It has not missed a beat since pulled from the crate. I rode the KLX250 & the WR250 before I bought the Honda. Both nice bikes but for me they were just not worth the extra cash. Cheers!

I love this bike! I got mine last August. Although it's not a competition-level bike and it's a bit heavy for a 250, it does everything I need it to do, and you can't beat the price. I mainly ride moderate trails and dirt / gravel roads in the state forest here in rural eastern CT.

Wow I had no idea about that issue with them. That's why I was like "what the hell is he talking about?" Glad I questioned it, I think I'll be getting a slightly used Yami WR instead of this bike now, I'm not crazy about the power difference, the weight difference and the suspension on this bike.

never went farther than 160 km before I had to refill. Mine is now 1 year old, 5000 km, it stalled once, when in a curve. Never happened again. We bought it to replace a 50cc scooter that we used mainly when on vacation and striggling with the logistics of whitewater-kayaking: you need a vehicle at the exit to get back to the entry-point. It does its job & fits nicely enough on the RV's rear mounted platform, weight still within specifications and I (166cm) can ride it. Don't think you can expect to get more for that price.

I bought mine today!! Cant wait :)

Really? Some random internet-guy farts out a spurious claim and it changes your purchase plans? The truth is that the PGM-FI problem is infrequent, simply to correct and Honda issued a service bulletin addressing this issue. I call BS on the claim that Honda "has no idea why they are doing it and don't seem to care".

Don"t worry about my decisions pardner. The WR is three times the bike no matter how you wanna slice it.

Yea..my CBR250 has the stalling while riding and stalling on start up issues. A lot of them do and Honda has no idea why they are doing it and don't seem to care. That's why I asked about this because it's the same engine.

what would be better for getting to the trail, loading a bike on the trailer or riding it

If Honda has a fix, I havent heard about it. I spoke with American Honda a month ago, told me they are still trying to work it out.

Unless you're riding on 30-50 mph paved/dirt roads, DO NOT buy this bike, unless you want to pay a crap load in mods.
@NIGHTEHAWK11 жыл бұрын
Actually yes it does. It might not be as bad but it does still have that problem.

I own 1, well, he forgot to mention that he rear suspension is soft, aswell as in front. And gets low on the 6th gear. Feels like you're still on the fifth. It feels really hot on the left side of the leg where radiator fan blows hot air from the radiator. But for the cheap price, it is worth it.

Does it stall like the CBR?

Honda shouldn't call it a CRF bike, it's really a XL250. It has none of its brother CRF-X, CRF-F and CRF-R characteristic.
@DamYankeeOutdoors10 жыл бұрын
It has the same styling in the frame, chassis, plastics, and over-all looks. That's why it is a CRF. It was built like the CRF's.

TheUltimateFish A Proper CRF has an alloy frame, this new CRF is nothing like the original CRF, it should be an XL 250. it has given the CRF a bad name. its a shit bike in comparison
@mtube6209 жыл бұрын
wheeliehigh that's the shame of Honda who took this tactic of naming a bike 250L in the same bloodline of superior brothers of real CRF. The 250L is great for putting around town. It's heavy for a 250cc at 320llbs, better known as 'Little Red Pig'. There is a ready demand for a 350/400/450/500cc dual sport bike but it seem honda and yamaha refuse to offer any of that. The 250L was made for the asian market where 250L is suffice for their crowded, short distance roadways.
@DamYankeeOutdoors9 жыл бұрын
wheeliehigh It's a "shit bike" for doing what the other CRF's do... Just off-roading. Things were changed in order to make it a decent bike at BOTH. With this, it cannot be great at both, it can only be great at ONE. That's why. People who actually think about that realize that it's a great bike! Just not for hard-core things like the just straight up "dirt bikes."
