Honda CRF300L Free Performance Mods

This Video is about taking out the Pair Valve I also cut my spark arrestor off (watch somebody else's video on that I think I cut mine too short, not that it matters) It sounds better in my opinion. I also modified the tube going into the airbox for better airflow.

that 5k rattle is from the cam chain , the cam chain tensioner is a little lose from the factory its a honda thing , if yo fix it , put a stronger spring in the tensioner the friction will be greater , i recommend to leave it like it is !

my honda nc750 cam chain was also a little loose from factory, was always noisy. I think it gained a little power changing out the tensioner when there was less power after 60,000km

Someone said the springs in the slipper clutch were the issue for the 5K rattle. Can't remember where I seen the video, but when he removed the clutch those springs indeed rattled terribly. So it's just an annoying resonance issue. Not something prone to mechanically fail. The fix for it is to just twist the throttle harder

Thanks that's Interesting I'm going to look this up. I can still hear the rattle time to time but its not as bad now as you said, you can tell the sound is resonating

Yup. I saw the same video. Guy replaced the slipper clutch with a heavy duty clutch et viola no more rattle.

no its not , if you pull the clutch and rev the engine to 5k you will still hear it , its the cam chain many honda models have this problem , which is not actually a problem

@@florinadrian7957 well, no. It's not the cam chain either. Many people on the forums thought the same thing and replaced all the cam chain and tensioner, and that still never solved the problem. Not to mention the rattle persists under excelleration on brand new bikes.

@@moemuggy4971 Mine never rattled under acceleration from new. Only at part throttle like it still does after 700 km. I haven't seen anyone checking for piston slap yet. That's another possibility.

You could just block the hose to the pair valve, that would stop that reed valve opening and closing and making such a rattle.

Does removing the spark arrestor effect anything? Like getting a safety inspection done? Or maybe carbon build up?

Most places to ride off road or in the forest especially you gotta have a spark arrester by law or you can get a big fine I had to order mine separately for my full Yoshi system for my 300

I got rid of my 5K rattle really easy and also that junk rear shock absorber and also that on off throttle twitchiness at low RPMs that's about useless I sold the bike and bought a good bike 😍

the rattle is a KTM invention, I have one of these bikes and they do not do it.
